Ah, Alas, it is a Vintage style amp with Modern features, a lot of people seem to think the 'Modern' part means modern sounds. Lovely amp, I have the cab as well with those amazing original G12-C Greenbacks, all in black, couldn't live without it.
I use the effects loop on the fryette PS2 as it saves me going behind all the amps to connect to the effects loop. I've heard the loops are not very good on the VM but I don't really know much about loops. I'm definitely on the hunt for a few bbe pedals as I had a rack sonic maximizer ages ago and I enjoyed it. I love the amp so far but not for the metal stuff but for everything else I think it sounds fantastic.
When I first got it I dimed everything as I thought it was a plexi style amp and it sounded great. But then I started hearing people saying I shouldn't do that and recommending other settings. I think I've never owned an amp like this that's so un-like my normal style amps but I love it. It will definitely not be going anywhere. 🤘🏻
@@enthronedoath8370 Its definitely a badass amp forsure! I remember back in 2007 Steve Dawson (engineer/designer) on the Marshall forums saying it’s basically a hot rodded JTM 45/100. He originally named it “vintage modded.” 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Best you could get for metal with that amp is something somewhat like a Dual Rectifier or Uberschall sound by using 6L6GC or 5881 power tubes. I don't think there's much high-end roll off in the boost stage like there is with a typical high gain amp. It's prolly not worth bothering to mod.
Thanks man much appreciated 🙏🏻. Nowhere near as good as yours. Yeah it was a riff from a song I did ages ages ago I just thought I'd use it. Ive got millions riffs/songs/ideas. I used to have a kemper about 5 years ago and I just recorded all my ideas but just never did anything with them. I enjoy trying to mix stuff but I hardly get anytime to learn anything. I think making the RUclips videos gives me a chance to use my amps, do a bit of mixing and get some of my riffs out there. Trying to put full songs out there when you're doing everything yourself is so hard unless you've got the time. But I'm enjoying it and that's all that matters. I see you've recently just got the tsl. How are you finding it?
@@enthronedoath8370 You really should release an album, most of your riffs have a feeling of longing for something, of melancholy, like In Flames did in their earlier albums. Love that so much. I do hope you find the time one day. Didn't spend too much time with the TSL just yet, but I found that some sounds overlap with my JCM800 2205, but with more gain on tap and more versatile (3 channels, tone shift / deep switches and all) there are 2 clips on my fb using the tsl. Anyway, looking forward to more content man! Cheers
@@InDecemberOfficial yeah if I get the time I'd love to do a full album. Early inflames are big influence on me. I've never tried the tsl. I've had a Dsl and regret getting rid of it but I will get a tsl at some point. 🤘🏻.
Sounds killer! The name of the amp is confusing - the designer himself said it's a "vintage tone, with modern features - like FX loop and master volume." It's NOT a dual sound vintage, then modern gain.
I've only had this amp a few days and any suggestions on settings will be much appreciated if anyone has one of these. 👍🏻

Cleans are amazing
Nice demo of the amp. Been debating getting this model. Thanks!
It's definitely worth a try as you can get them pretty cheap. It's great for most genres and has a really good vintage feel.
KT 66 tubes are awesome
Greenbacks are recommended I dig mine with the detail up and body at 2 o clock for VH riffs 80's style. If you want heavy stuff the EVH rules
It has really nice crunch. If it has an effects loop I’d put in a 6 band EQ, or a BBE sonic stomp, or an aural exciter through the loop.

@@enthronedoath8370 I think the amp sounds great! It’s super dry but in a good way.
@@zyxwfish yeah I've noticed that it's dry. It reminds me a bit of the fryette deliverance.
@@enthronedoath8370 I agree with that
I run my Vintage Modern like a plexi. Everything dimed, mid boost in, high dynamic range with a boost/OD out in front.

Sounds good to me nice collection
Sounds great. Very misunderstood amp. Nice collection of Marshalls you've got there.
Thanks 🙏🏻

I got it modded an it's a beast. It's probably my favourite amp at the moment. 🤘🏻
Man, that mix is simply awesome. Your song?

Thanks . That's good to know and makes sense. It definitely has the vintage tone. It's a very underrated amp and you don't see a lot of them around.
Its the Same as setting up a Jumped Plexi, if you never used a Jumped Plexi you wouldnt know how to use this amp
You don't need a vintage/modern, you can play that garbage on anything!
