Tom Quayle lights the fuse on the energetic track with his trademark brand of mind-blowing legato and killer phrasing. Jake then takes the torch, adds melody, brings in some big bends and throws in some whammy too. Then comes the curve ball. Daniele Gottardo goes inside and outside with key defying multi-finger tapping lines and slick intervallic runs.
Next is Luca Mantovanelli. Opening with a pick tapping lick and cheeky film reference, he unleashes an insane amount of legato and finishes things with some pretty wonky harmonics. Finishing things is Andre Nieri, who takes Luca’s shred vapour trail and adds in chromatics, slide-bends, sneaky taps and a whole load of hybrid picking.

How is it that I hear Tom Quayle play that exact same run/lick literally everywhere but it always sounds as fresh as the first time I heard it?

Reducing him as a simple « instagram guitarist » proves you really don’t know mateus asato.. Search a bit and you’ll find some insane jazz/metal licks in his playing.

Very happy to see the future of guitar( much secured.) The guitar choices are very similar, non locking tem, humbucker bridge. Reminiscent to Allan holdsworth in the 90s. They bring there own signature to all the exposure in the music scene.(10 THUMBS UP.)
This style was pioneered by Greg Howe and Ritchie Kotzen years ago.

@@JTCGuitar That's the tempo that I tapped out in my daw. And yes, it does feel like an outrageously fast tempo. I had to ask because I was jamming to the track and I started to trainwreck on my 16th note, economy picking runs. Time to step it up! Thanks for the inspiration!!!!

Sorry, but this is just metal shredding over a groove, that is not fusion. With the exception of Nieri who slips in a bit of fusion, and of course has played with Virgil Donati, this is a still a bad overall example of fusion. To be fusion it needs far more jazz content, and far less of the typical rock metal shred presented here. There are many great metal fusion groups that actually integrate jazz content with metal, but this is not one of them, sorry. This vid overall gives fusion a bad name, as in another name for yet more endless shredding. Great chops from all in a metal rock context, but is not fusion
Put Howe, Holdsworth and Govan in a mixer...and you have Tom Quayle, the best legato shredder
I don't really like his playing, to be honest....but without a doubt, he has possibly the best economy of motion I've ever seen. He just floats.

That's because the newer one doesn't have much a real fusion player, more like a rock guitarist plays with fusion track. Meanwhile Tom, andre, luca, and daniele was playing fusion since decades ago

Mesmo não sendo uma competição, a música não é competição ... mas a diferença entre André Nieri e os outros é gritante. Completamente outro nível ... em termos de maturidade, linguagem, timbre ... e muita outra coisa! E olha que não sou nem brasileiro, mesmo escrevendo em português. Sou italiano e 2 músicos aqui nesse video são italianos. André Nieri é outra historia.

Don't sound like your improvising. Sounds like Guthrie govan licks strung together. Wheres when when i hear like holdsworth, it sounds like he's improvising creating something new. Not just shredding.

So great to hear that the electric guitar has new embassadors...but I think amp sims are negatively impacting their sound. I bet 90% of these masters used any amp sim in this track...it just sounds different. Like with no soul, I do not know...

Hey don’t worry. There’s always pentatonic that we can shred up and down haha start with Creeping Death by Metallica. Sounds complex but it’s actually a very easy solo.
