I installed the Khrome Werks Slip on's for my New CVO RG and love them. Looking forward to Radio upgrades too. Thank you for video. Will stay tuned for future info!
Hey Jay, I was curious about the power from the amp, Wanted to know if it was flash from Harley for the 6x9 output, wondering was that the reason you was seeing 80 watts only? Thanks love the videos............
Do you have a video on how to adjust EQ? I have the soundstream 9813SG with 6.5" Hertz speakers and just currently use the "pop" preset. It sounds a whole lot better than the "soft rock" preset but I have no idea what frequencies to adjust to what.
Hi, I think you are making a mistake while you’re tacking frequency mesure. You should turn on the engine because the equqlizing is changing as soon the engine start. The equalizing become flat instantly. The bass are exaggerated but only when the bike is on stop. Please could u check ? Regards from france
@@volunteeraudioOk Thanks !! I got a street Glide ST117 and i can ear the difference when I strat the engine. Could you give me the reference of the milwaukee tool you use to cut the saddlebag ? Thanks a lot , Best regards
i stop by a harley dealer to look at the new cvo and one of the sale people turn the radio up loud and i told him to turn it down because it sounded like shit
Not 45 watts, I will retest later but with bike running I would expect 2-3 watt increase max, and while running its much harder to get the video sound correct
Jay, do you feel like this install would even be worth your time due to the fact considering with everything increasing who's really going to spend 45-46,000 on a new Harley when money can actually be saved to buy a older Harley and not deal with half the issues that come with the audio and a few other things on that bike in general it's naturally just a waste of money for someone that has common sense The bike isn't loud like you wanted to be so you have to change the exhaust You have to change the radio it's a few other things you have to change that mustache fall bar a bunch of stuff that you actually have to change out to where you could end up being almost $55,000 in the hole is it even really worth it
That’s part of buying any Harley, everyone upgrades all the things they don’t like. Yes they are selling as fast as they can make them and next year this will no longer be a future model but the next 10 years of current models
@@volunteeraudio just sad it definitely shows a Harley does not care about the customer or any of our opinions at all. You have some companies that will actually take our opinions and work with them to make a happier customer to get more sales maybe one day Harley will hear us out
Absolutely, I’m working on a complete solution but setting eq as we show and upgrading the speakers to hertz neo will help a lot until we get all the amp harnessing built
Holy misinformation Batman, just like the previous oem bikes systems, they are designed to have the eq sliders maxed out and only want to turn them down if they want to be quieter. Also they have current limiters built into the amps to pull the audio down if playing distortion
We tested the output at various volume levels and eq settings, amp only put out 80 watts in all scenarios, we make sure the information we share is accurate. The usb track played when dyno testing is a sweep that starts with a low input signal to amp and gradually increases till 1 percent distortion. This was a certified dyno run and very accurate
I didn’t mention anything about the output but now that you mention it, just like the previous Harley audio systems, we were told that these also have active eq so it changes the audio as you ride depending on speed, so unless you are riding with the amp dyno and Rta while riding, there is more info to the story
The CVO styling is now an exact copy of an Indian but with better paint. If Indian would upgrade its paint then they would really surpass HD. I am not a fan of Indian styling so the new CVO leaves me cold.
Styling is more modern for sure but these features are current on all new vehicles. Better instrumentation, large screens, led lighting. It was time to build a more modern bike and I’m so glad it is not built like an Indian when working on it, so much easier to work on a Harley
I believe Harley-Davidson need to get with Rockford because paying over 40K and the system should be louder because as soon you go on the freeway the sound is gone
@@volunteeraudio There is a significant difference between the HD "powered by Rockford Fosgate" system and the Rockford Fosgate components you buy directly from them. My local HD dealership service manager is friends with the RF rep and he told him that as well. He compared it to buying a "generic" item and a "real" item. The HD / RF amp, at least on my 2022, is a sealed amp that does not allow any gain settings or anything else at all - pretty terrible. I ripped out everything and replaced it with all RF components directly from them, (amp, speakers) including their quick removable bag sub kits. It's a completely different system now and very good. I am not sure how these new 2023 CVOs are set up, but with the one I just did it is pretty awesome. Paired of course with a Soundstream Reserve head unit. :)
Rockford is junk and so is Boom Stage 2. Harley replaced junk with junk. And you also get the exhaust tax cause stock exhaust is never good. A shame to put such garbage audio on a nice bike. Vounteer will fix it😊
Rockford Fosgate audio for Harley-Davidson definitely doesn't make very good systems for HD especially considering what you pay for it. My coworker was at Sturgis this year and he had a Rockford Fosgate four 6.5" speaker system plus amp installed in his bike for $2,500. When he got back he was so excited to have me listen to it and I was actually pretty surprised how much I was unimpressed with the system. Yes it was definitely louder than stock but the system didn't have any mid-range. Everything coming out was just high pitch and sounded like crap and I didn't have the heart to tell him.
@@volunteeraudio no it's safer to have good riding skills and be a defensive rider and not be distracted by your favorite tune . I know this to be true as I have been riding longer than you've been alive , and have seen examples time and time again . Stay safe out there buddy !
@greghinchley6277 Funny how that works, a few years ago, oh man, look how Indian copied harley, now people scream the opposite with the redesign. @VTWINKIE It's not worth the $$ HD is asking. In 16 you could view your oil pressure. In 17 & up it changed to OK or check oil. As Jay states the audio is garbage. If the Moco accepted customer feedback & applied it then these 2 vital issues would have been corrected. If a single unit breaks on that infotainment center the whole unit is garbage & good luck with the 6+ month back order.

Yes I’m told they really change the sound and it needs it! Thank you for watching!
Thanks Jay for that information! I thought Harley would’ve put more into the stereo for the ticket price of the bike!
They never have had a great stereo, even on cvo models but boom 2 was better than hd audio by Rockford

Super informative Jay. I’m a tech nerd, so I love this information! God Bless!!✌️😇👍

Flashing only adjusts eq curve slightly, it does not change output of the amp. Thank you for watching!
