I mean the 5090 does have A Lot of Raw Power. More than anything else. Its just that Rasterized performance is starting to become obsolete the more complexed and unoptimized games get. People have to understand that Frame Generation will inevitable be the future as game designs are outpacing graphics cards.
Try playing competitive games with AI frames. You will shoot to parts of the screen where there is nothing, but you see content there. But the same will happen to solo players of fast paced games.
If your pc keeps crashing it’s from the nvidia app it was doing it to me too as soon as I deleted the app the crashing just completely stopped, it’s a current bug going on
My p c hasn't crashed, but what I meant is that I had just barely updated my bios and enabled all the overclocking features, which I have updated bios in the past that gave me problems 😂
Same sentiments with the white rtx 50 cards, i just recently changed to a white build after all these years because of the white builds using lian li o11 compact vision, I'm left with my launch 4090 zotac trinity OC, the only white 5090 i saw was the MSI and the Aorus master ice which Im probably going to target but theres a low chance i could grab on launch day here in UK with all the websites slowing down with multiple users, so I need to look for other white 5090 with rgb
To be fair, you cant run "any" game in DLSS. The Ai has to be trained on massive servers and then embed it in the game. There is no replacement for raw power.
I think RTX 5090 is so powerful that it is being bottle necked by the 9800x3d because RTX 5080 has almost the same core count as RTX 4080 but is 30% faster in raw performance in Nvidia's Benchmark, RTX 5090 has 33% more cores than RTX 5090 and 80% more Bandwidth But it still shows only 30% faster in raw performance in Nvidia's Benchmark. If we get a Faster CPU than 9800x3d than RTX 5090 would be 50% better in raw performance than RTX 4090.
Hopefully we get a 5080Ti or Super refresh with the new 3GB RAM chips that weren't out on 50 series release and give us 18GB,21GB or 24GB of VRAM. 4090 owners are all into their feelings because the ones that skipped the 40 series and held out, can now get a $549 card that is just as fast or faster. 🤷♂️

Hey Dan. I saw a few reviewers like LTT that went through a bunch of 50 series cards and there were ‘White’ edition cards from several AIB partners so you should be able to get one that suits you. They have them up to the 5090.
I agree with what you are saying about AI, that being said think of it like this. If your FPS counter was at 10000 but you knew it was actually only at 20 real frames would it be ok for them to charge for card that makes 10000 frames? That being said many people are worried this will be way now because the silicon is maxed out.
The truth is it will be 30% better even in raster on average. It will be insanely better with dlss4 and then even further more with multi frame generation which ill probably never use. People also getting mixed up thinking frame gen is forced on with dlss4 now and that's not the case. Yoy can still choose to not use frame generation with dlss4. Same happened last gen. Everyone heard him say dlss3 frame generation and everybody thought it was forced and you wouldn't be able to turn it off while using dlss. That isn't the case so no worries.
No A.I frame gen is not going to do the same thing as raw performance . You’re no going to have increased latency and you’re going to have artifacting. There are two main benefits to higher frame rate, one is the game looks smoother and the second is the game plays smoother and is more responsive. With AI generated frames you’re losing that responsiveness and creating more latency. Finally for people that play PCVR, Sim Racing and fight Sims etc, frame generation isn’t an option especially in VR. What DLSS 4 is offering in frame generation we already have with lossless. The only card I’m interested in is the 5090

@ I understand that but the reason why they’re releasing garbage is because they know players can use frame generation. If frame generation was not an option, they could not release the games in this state that they do. The more the hardware leans on AI and frame generation the more the developers are gonna take advantage of it. This isn’t helping the situation. It’s ultimately going to make it worse. there’s going to be no incentive for developers to optimize their games. They’re gonna give it to you and say upscale it like they have been. And then the latency is going to continue to get worse, etc. etc..
Do you think 16 gigabytes of vram is enough moving forward though? Don’t want to be spending $1000 for a new GPU this year and then another $1000 two years from now. I’m considering just getting the 5090 and being done with it. Right now, I’m running an RTX 2080TI basically my whole computers outdated.
@@DanDoesPC I don't think the speed is of importance when it comes to textures loaded into the vram. Many people fear that future games with PT enabled will use up to 20+ gb of vram in 4k. And the 5080 should be a 4k class card, which it is. I have no issues with a 4080s in 4k with RT. But, there are a few games where I have to decide whether to leave RT off in 4k or lower res to 1440p to enjoy RT/PT. And that is because I "only" have 16gb. However, with neural rendering the 50series will use less vram. I think we need to wait and see. Then we can complain.
Astral or founders edition. I cant decide. Founders looks sleeker but will probably run hotter and louder than astral. Plus, astral will probably have a 5% performance increase
A white 5090 would be nice as I just built a white fish tank myself. 2 grand is pushing it though and if AIB cards in white are more than AIB cards in black which are more than the founders editions, I may be in trouble and have to derate to 5080 or get a black FE 5090.

Nvidia already showed the real fps for 5090: 28 fps for cyberpunk native 4k max path tracing 29 fps wukong 4k max path tracing From there you can compare them 33% faster than 4090 in cyber punk 26% faster in wukong. Have fun upgrading from 21 to 28 fps 🤪
Man, that was a fast PC. My first computer was an atari 800xl from 1985. 64k of ram. No hdd just floppies. My friend had a commodore 64 and had a tape drive. He also had a 300 baud modem that took 20 minutes to download a 20k game. It was amazing what they could do with such small games and hardware. My first PC was an 80286 12 mhz that came with 1 mb of ram and a 40 mb hdd. I thought it was a big upgrade from my other computer. The ones in school were still the old Amber screens. 320x200 graphics. My 286 had 640x486x 256 colors.

I was hoping for raw power becuase as a VR user, raw performance matters. Some VR games tody brings the 4090 to its knees based on your headset.

I plan on getting a 5090. I want the MSI supreme if I can get it although I will see how much it is. I am guessing something around 2300.
