I love the details on RC vehicles like that but, they should come with a figure to complete the details. They kinda look funny driving by itself. It’s not a must have or a need. It would flow with the extreme detail.
Please don't throw a 6 inch figure in here as they will look TINY! look for something around 8 inch like stuff from Mego, neca... stuff with clothes. There is a cool Stan Lee out right now. Golden Girls, Bob ross... I'm glad they don't give a figure with the truck. Make it your own!
I got the grey SCX 10.3 same exact machine, looks better in my opinion for $499. And has portal axles. AMain hobbies still has them for this price. Has interior, driver, and lights.👍
I got mine just before PLBTF and I'm happy to report the dreaded clicking was not present! It trailed really well. I let my body run it for some light crawling and he was impressed.
That Bronco is awesome! Glad to see that companies are listening to the consumer and creating vintage scale rigs! Thanks for the video and solid review! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The articulation looks great out of the box. One thing that always put me off about the SCX10 was the clearance between the body and the tyres but this looks great. Doesn’t look like it fouls at all. I think I’ll get one eventually and put a khaki canvas roof on it.
I really appreciate your honest reviews. You are generally positive, but you don't hide the weak points like many reviewers do when they get a free RC truck.
Hey Greg, watched your review on the grey SCX JLU RTR and got one for my 34 old daughter and myself. One clicks and the other doesn't. I think the grey JLU looks more realistic. Same machine, different body. Excellent performance. Especially with the tint off the front windows, the drivers window cut out, the driver painted, a roof rack, a winch out front on a SCA-1E front and rear bumper set for $10.99. shave the corners of the post, they fit perfectly.
I sat on the fence all this time waiting for the price to drop. Finally picked one up on sale for $285. I just cant afford to pay $500+ for every new offering. That was a nice review.
Great video, nice looking truck. I wish the scale was more consistent with the TRX 4/Redcat size chassis/body combo. It seems like the axial 1/10 scale crawlers are smaller side-by-side with the other rigs.
Another fantastic review. Your format and presentation are top notch. As for my opinion (since you asked), it's a sensible release putting out an RTR with the straight axles. Early Bronco body seems like a good choice too, as "Bronco" is hot these days. Price of the truck is high, but I believe that's largely influenced by economic factors. That said, my SCX10iii Wrangler is still putting a smile on my face every time I take it out, so I see no reason to replace it, or add the Early Bronco to my garage. These models do look odd driving around without a driver figurine though. Definitely need to add a figurine of your choice before hitting the trail.
That is sweet!! Axial hit the nail on the head ank sank it in one shot. Lol. Def going to get the RTR. I have done 2 of the builder's kits. That's enough for now. .lol. When I put the transmission together I greased it really well. I have not really heard the clicking.
I just love this rig. Now i plan to get this one first instead of the TRX4 Bronco even though i plan to get them both......Thanks for showing it without the tire also.
Great job from Axial. Love the scale details & the scale body & interior. I'll gladly give up some crawling ability to keep the heavier scale body. This isn't supposed to be a comp rig. Saw several comments about it looking "toyish". Check out real early Broncos. That's how they look.
Good set of dual stage foams and some more performance oriented rubber. (Crawler T/A.....landmines.......hyrax) and a bit of ballance work......and a good servo......at some point scale has to give to performance. I'm a chevy guy but this is cool.
Just got mine, and it is beautiful! Very nice looking lots of detail... it is also the least capable, BY FAR, of any RC crawler out of the box. I have other Axials, Traxxas, Gmade, a Vanquish and a Redcat Gen8 V2 (12 crawlers in total). Even the Gen8 ran circles around it out of the box. In order to enjoy it you must remove the beautiful spare and use a small battery on the left side. It loves to twist and point that driver front tire to the sky. I added a line of weights to the wheels (wheels are too nice to replace and tires look good and perform very well) and removed the spare to lower the center of gravity and the Bronco performed much better. Still twisty and tippy but nice for trailing. I would not pay $580 for it. Got it on sale for $480 and still does not perform to that price point IMHO. Looks great though.
Nice Video, like my Bronco a lot. The standard tires are not working well in my country. The torque twist is still there after changing the shocks, oil and springs. But with the Fusion Pro this thing is pretty quick. Working on saddle Packs to optimize the weight balance.
I just bought one of these a couple of hours ago (teal tho) and I'm already watching videos and planning upgrades. I will say one thing, compared to my scx10ii blazer and jeep, this body is BIG. Other than that, it sure is pretty to look at. Great video, as always.
So awesome I just found my new hobby! Love how the hole drive train and suspension has real metals gears hi an low front and rear axles lock in. Your video recording was done great I love all. The little details. I love Broncos I wish they had some way to make it sound like the 5.0 with duals maybe a speaker for the motor in the motor compartment and littles 1s for both exhaust the matches the rpm when you hitting the throttle. Even a little smoke. Even a park to hit the. Throttle and a little body effect like 1 side lifting when u hit the gas just like in a real pickup or bronco jeep ext..
Absolutely stunning looking, I was excited about the new redcat crawler, axial has a winner with this one!, leaving town ya got the emergency sirens, then the sweet tranquility of the deep woods, nice touch brother 😉 I'd like to know if that body would fit on one of my trx4's 🤔
I can't wait for aftermarket parts that would bolt on that cage... maybe swap to some bucket seats like the ones from the wraith, 5 point harness... I'm drooling for the potential!!!
How's her COG? Looks pretty good overall, but maybe a smidge higher than it could be? I'm not a Found On Russian Dump guy, but I like it, and I do like early Broncos.
Great video, I love the music tracks and video editing. The scenery where you tested the truck is stunning. The scale details are very well done, but that's to be expected with Axial. Seems like a very capable truck. This video is making my decision on a trail / crawler more difficult.
I feel ya bud, I already have like 5 and a half rigs lol still haven't finished them but new stuff keeps hitting me in the face when I open my browser lol damn this A.D.D.!!!!
That looks so Good!💯! I wish they would have brought this out 1st release? I bought the kit but ended up selling it because of the noisey transmission.. This is making me think about getting another because of the awesome body 😄 can you purchase the body separately please??
Any Lexan body painted in a solid color looks a bit plasticky to me. Metallic paint would make a huge difference, but Axial is offering only two colors on this, and both are solid. Hopefully they'll sell the clear body by itself.
I'm thinking mamba max pro with that aux channel to turn off drag brake and really RIPPP with that 2nd gear! Maybe... Or just a good old hobbywing 1080 lol
Awesome video Greg... as you said, a little tune and tweek here and there and great looking solid performer. Scale details are sick and will be improved upon with 3d print designs and patina paint schemes etc.etc. Have a great weekend Cheers👍
Beautiful rig, for sure. Great review as always. Steep price for a rig with no portals, std servos, 40 amp esc, $20 Dynamite motor..and the clicking...ty..peace out..:
I started to order the new axial bronco but went with the gladiator instead bc I didn’t wanna wait to get it I guess I could always buy the body if I decide I want the bronco I don’t really see much difference if any difference between the 2. Just have to shorten the chassis the only major difference is no portals but that wouldn’t affect changing the body.
I hope I can just get the lexan part of the body so I can paint my own color... I saw the entire body kit is over $100 (nearly $200?). The stock rtr colors are nice but get more than 2 of these together it will be tough to tell who is who lol
Looks really cool, but the price is awfully high, considering they haven't fixed the terrible body clip location and it doesn't even have portal axles. I'd be more inclined to just buy the body and put it on something else.
I just bought a Gladiator - I think the Firma ESC and the DX3 is miles better than the stock TRX4 Electrics & radio (although I did change the running gear in mine)
I like it. Butt of my many RC I have Dingo. I am really waiting for. Traxxas. 6+6 Flatbed. Traxxas has applied for some form of license to do it. I will spend the big Bucks
Ok so I'm still fairly new to the hobby. I love my short course trucks and all. I'm not a speed demon tho but at the same time not sure how much I'd like a crawler. If I get one and turns out not to be my thing is there a reasonable way to convert it to be a little faster? Or is it better to get something like a rock bouncer/racer to try first 🤔
It's 2 speed capable. Just get a mamba max pro ESC and use the aux wire to turn of drag brake when you shift to 2nd gear and it should be pretty quick! Pricey, but quick!

Think they leave it out so you can choose anybody from G.I. Joe, Luke Skywalker,Bigfoot or Sponge Bob
I was thinking the same. A clone trooper maybe, or just Chewbacca?
I was also thinking the same thing. :)
Please don't throw a 6 inch figure in here as they will look TINY!

I agree but since there is 7000 genders now......
Nice job Greg, always informative and detailed reviews. Hope to add some counterpoints in the future!
Man the price on these just seem to keep creeping up
just like everything
Look at Traxxas, upped the UDR and XMAXX $100.
@@whistlinlipo Traxxas could probably label a turd “Limited Edition” for $100 and it’d sell.

Looks great with nice scale details. That’s what those old Bronco’s looked like. Always wanted a 1:1.
The holes it the top of the cage is for the light bar mounts the already offer that comes in the bomber
I've owned two 1:1 early Broncos in the past and I want one of these 1:10 because I miss those old trucks so much. This was a great review.
For anyone who's considering this truck it's currently on sale for $299 as of 4/19/23
I own a '70 1:1 and this sort of looks like the essence of an early Bronco but for that money I'd expect hard plastic and truer to detail.
Now that this is out, they should make a portal kit for it in order to go full circle, also it seems quite expensive compared to the Jeep models.
new pricing is more to do with the massive printing than anything else. had this been released last year, I would see the 500.00 point.
That thing looks epic. It kinda reminds me of the tough trucks you'd see on TNN Motor Madness back in the day.
I want one, but I can't believe they haven't corrected the dang clicking!
You took the words right out of m mouth. The #1 issue with the SCX10 iii is the transmission.
Oh yikes I forgot about that.
There are fixes for it on the forum but yeah at this price we shouldn't have to fix anything right out of the box.
Nice!!! hopefully for (Christmas) soon, gotta save good money for it! (Grade A-) testing on the trail run!
Yeah this would be great for Xmas. But I still need a gatekeeper, losi LMT, etc lol
I'm gonna go broke with all these new RCs to choose from. LOL!
I already have.😂

I have the SCX10-3 Jeep already but i want this one to, not just the body the whole package with an extra kit for spare parts.
there is a fix for the click., can you do a video on the swap from dig to 2speed?
Axial almost never fails to disappoint. But I must admit that new bronco is very impressive from all angles and aspects.wow.
and then the astronomical price tag blows the excitement out of the water....dang.
Definitely a great looking scale rig!
Love the body. I don’t have a SCX10 iii yet so this may be my first. Will wait for the kit though.
The seats look like they are in wrong?
Always been an Axial fan boy. I guess I'll write my letter to Santa early. Nice video, thanks for sharing.
Love the little details on this, and the thumb steer 👍 Great model this
This classic edition is bery looks more detail and so realistic. Amazing scx10iii. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cool crawling spot. Gotta lower the ride height. 90mm shocks maybe?
Seems like an appropriate project build truck. Looks awesome man. Might be my first scx10iii. Don't know for sure.
Love the look of this. I just bought a SCX10 III about 2 months ago but I think I'm going to have to get this as well.
These open rigs really need a driver figure.
Looks weird to me now without one.
This kit reminds me of the Dingo
Falken tires look cool but should have went with something more era correct to take it one step closer to scale
Certainly a rig to consider, thank you Greg, very good review
I need this with a clear body for my 6inch Gi joes.
Just ordered one for $299, and ordered some different wheels and tires, don’t care for the stock ones.
Beautiful rig, for sure. Great review as always. Steep price for a rig with no portals, std servos, 40 amp esc, $20 Dynamite motor..and the clicking...ty..peace out..:
Can't wait to get one, looks so sick! All the small details is amazing!
Great review! I like this one very much, have to get one for sure! 👍😊
Will this body fit on the Wrangler chassis?! I mean, the hidden pins...
Maybe licencing is more expensive with ford?
I hope I can just get the lexan part of the body so I can paint my own color...
I saw the entire body kit is over $100 (nearly $200?).
The stock rtr colors are nice but get more than 2 of these together it will be tough to tell who is who lol
This looks nice. The price is a little steep. What type of Drive figure will fit. Gotta have that.
im looking into getting the jeep jl kit since im now sort of getting back into the scale crawling. i wish they made a straight axle jeep wrangler kit
You can buy a conversion kit to make it straight axle, it's not too expensive either.
I am still rocking the first rtr. Love it. My favorite truck still. This one is too tall. Those 100mm shocks are too long for my tastes.
Reminds me of a big Tonka truck. :P I like it
Left rear wheel is quite wobbly when you first ran it?
First thing I noticed also... 🤔
Just the foam off centre, easy fix
Awesome review as always. Great rig, but I do like the SCX10.3 Jeeps better.
Do you know if the body would fit on the SCX10 II? i have the trial honcho....
Always nice to see something besides a Jeep or Toyota.
Been wanting another 1/1 car recently, but I think I can settle for one of these lol
You can see voltage with any battery. The SMART battery will add MAH consumed also. Great video!
Greg, are you going to do the losi 69 camaro v100?
I'd like to know how you feel it compares to the 69 Kyosho.
“I’m a huge Falken fan”
🤣sorry I know I’m immature
Looks really cool, but the price is awfully high, considering they haven't fixed the terrible body clip location and it doesn't even have portal axles. I'd be more inclined to just buy the body and put it on something else.
Im looking to buy one of these but are the steering knuckles plastic or brass?
I just bought a Gladiator - I think the Firma ESC and the DX3 is miles better than the stock TRX4 Electrics & radio (although I did change the running gear in mine)
I hate all the Axiel badgings. It makes it harder to create scaled-looks when it has Axiel and SCX10 all over the body
Mine is nothing but probs as each time i flex it the dam drive shaft tube pops out both front and back and no idea why or how to fix it.
I will collect this one.
I like it. Butt of my many RC I have Dingo. I am really waiting for. Traxxas. 6+6 Flatbed. Traxxas has applied for some form of license to do it. I will spend the big Bucks

They made a nice car, good details .. but something is off for me in its view.. something with the proportions or wheels..

Pricey, but quick!
i just noticed. traxxas put out a new bronco and axial put out an old bronco
Rather get me the RedCat Axe edition...hell yeah
It comes with Falken Wildpeaks?! Thats what I run on my real Ford! Lol now I gotta have it!
It's a beauty shelf queen but for $200 more I bought a 1/5th scale 8s basher that with a little know how tops out at 65 mph

No average person that doesn't have sponsorship would run that beautiful scale vehicle and risk scratching it,nice paper weight though
Great, now I need another rc lol. Love it!!!!
