Just remember, when Homelander got his dressing down talk, he can sense things like heart beat, breathing rate etc and tell when you are bluffing, lying scared what ever. Stan Edgar doesn't give Homelander a single hint of intimidation or deception. THAT scares the hell out of Homelander. he can kill Stan Edgar easy, but he cant manipulate scare or threaten him. Stan Edgar's super power is "fuqq around, and find out."

Never mess with Stan Edgar! He is cold businessman and profoundly manipulative without powers, as shown when Homelander confronted Stan Edgar, complaining about Stormfront elevating as newest member of The Seven, Stan Edgar berates him, calling him “man-child” as Homelander, using his hearing abilities, heard Stan’s heartbeat as his heart placate itself and slowed it down, estimating and theorising that he’s not afraid of him and feared him, which makes Homelander being afraid of him rather than to kill him. In addition, Stan Edgar is only one who can single-handedly control him due to lack of superpowers and utilised Compound V. He is the best character in The Boys show.
This show is great at showing how lying hurts the person hearing them but the person who is lying is trying to shield the other, but really they're also trying to make themselves look (and maybe feel) better about what they're doing. We've all been there but it always sucks. "Live in truth, the best you can. That's the most important thing for living a happy life." Even if it hurts short-term it's better long-term.

The supes who ended up in this world because they had some gift, handed money, influence, fame, and power, but without being taught how to use those things responsibly, they're victims too, if to a lesser degree. Even Homelander is a victim of his (lack of) upbringing, though he carries it to the point there simply is no excuse for his actions. But the higher-ups a Vought who engineer these people and put them in these situations, who manufacture and discard supes to keep the machine running, they're the truly irredeemable villains.
The cult teacher Carol IS from something: she played Susan in Friends, the girlfriend (and I think eventually wife) of Ross Geller's first wife Carol (!). xD

funniest part is the actor for homelander (Antony Starr) is the complete opposite of his character irl and he is from New Zealand!
Stormfront is still the best villain in The Boys franchise imo. she does SUCH great job of making you like her before you start to see her differently and the whole facade goes away. Can't wait to see the rest of s2 reaction!
Just an FYI the bathrooms in 7 tower are gender neutral. Translucent had just as much right to be there as Starlight (he was standing next to urinals in that seen if you missed it). That does not excuse the invisible spying that is still hella creepy.
I just can't stop to love Homelander, he is such a well written charakter/villain and it doesn't hurt that the actor who plays him is so incredebil(Antony Starr)
But especially towards the end of the season he gets some great devolpment that gives his character more depth.

The brilliant thing about The Boys is the fact that so many of the "bad" people - with or without powers - show shades of grey...
The Deep mistreats women because of insecurity about his own body, despite the special powers it provides.
A-Train wants to feel accepted, but is seen as a bit of an irrelevance by Homelander (compared to, say, Black Noir)... so he tries too hard to suck up and cares too much about his image as "the only Black member of the Seven"...
Even Homelander... he is truly depraved, but he grew up in a laboratory, and yet has had to maintain the lie of his family and childhood in public... he never felt any of the parental love and acceptance that the majority of us grew up with...
When you also factor in that they were created by chemicals, not by pure chance, or by some deity, and the fact that they are all basically seen as products by Vought Industries, who care more about the public image of their roster of supes than in the supes actually HELPING people, and it's no wonder they are mostly messed up...

I actualy realy pitty Homelander. He strikes as a Nice guy who just never had a chance to be loved and now he is doing anything to be loved. Either by public or by someone.
And with Ryan you can see that he sees him self in him and trying his best and genuenly care.
Well, with Ryan, he's more trying to force who he is into Ryan. He's not considering that Ryan is his own person and that getting to understand and love each other takes time. He kind of assumes he should love and imitate him perfectly. And while it's true that he never had a chance, he's so far corrupted that he's beyond saving. At a certain point, you can't afford to care about how nice they could've been.
