Forgive me if this has been said, but it's worth mentioning that Christopher Paolini was 15 years old when he wrote Eragon. Take that for what it's worth.

I just wanted to thank you for your reading wrap ups. They are one of my highlights every month and helped me getting back to reading this year immensely, which also improved my mental health. Thanks and keep going. You are amazing ✨️

I love how you start out talking about Eragon by being like ‘and then a certain character dies’ and then later just flat out mention (repeatedly) that Brom dies 🤣

I loved your review of Eragon - i read it years ago back in high school and didn't care for it. At the time, it was too predictable and not very original feeling and as a teenage girl at the time, i was sooo over bratty teenage boys 😂. But now that i see all the comments from ppl about how the series gets better, I'm going to give the series another chance!

The whole Eragon series was great. His writting improves as he gets older. The novella and the new book fit nicely. I loved it. The characters really develop and you learn alot more about what is truly going on.

Trust me when I say the rest of the Inheritance Cycle (Eragon books) is so different and insanely intense. Especially the last two books! Eldest is...A mix of "omg I'm so bored" and "holy 💩 how is this legal?! My heart is screaming, crying, throwing up!! I'm sobbing!! Wth?!" So be prepared for that. 😅 Paolini's writing does get better, and the ending of the series is just INSANE! Haha. Enjoy!!

I stopped listening to the video for a minute and re-tuned in and he said "The stuff in the museum was taken from other cultures" and my initial reaction, as a Brit, was just "when did we start talking about the British Museum."
I blame my autism for the inexplicable need to comment this unnecessary fact.

Pete's dragon sounds exactly like you described, kinda like Scooby-doo but if he was a dragon. If you've never seen that give it a look, not the new version but the 70s one with Mickey Rooney. Also Karl you killed it this video! Keep it up!

RUclips didn't tell me about this video. My brain was suddenly like "hey, where's the reading wrap up? Did I watch it already? Did it happen? What's going on?" 😂
July was crazy. Back to school is still a month away for us so not thinking about it. (Actually, I've had this year's curriculum planned for my son for years. 😂)

I need to re-read Eragon one of these days.. because I had it already when it was pretty new and tried to start it a few times and then never got around to it until shortly before the movie came out. Ended up literally finishing it just before going to see the movie. And let's just say I now have my "Eragon rule" when it comes to adaptations that if I haven't already read the source material prior to the movie/TV series I don't.

Well done with the editing, Carl! 👏 For anyone who wants that feeling you are talking about, the reading of your first fantasy books, I HIGHLY recommend Alison Croggon’s Pelinor series. It is heavily inspired by LOTR, but still has it’s own unique flavour, and unlike a lot of YA today, it does not rely on romance to tell the story. I think you might even be able to get tge first book for free on Kindle (The first book has 2 different titles, The Naming or The Gift, it’s the same book though. Also The Bone Queen is a prequel which you don’t have to read to get into the main quartet of books).

Thanks Ezeekat for posting your July wrap up! I was feeling kinda sad also because I didn´t have much time to read that month... barely one book I finished... but watching your videos always cheers me up and it motivates me to continue reading no matter how small amount, but it is worth it. So thank you!

Huh??? I'm... confused, is this a prank or a genuine suggestion? Because most people I know who love the series (including myself) tend to pretend the movie doesn't exist. I personally don't feel it's particularly accurate to the book, though I liked some of the casting choices. I'm honestly not trying to be rude or start a fight, I'm just genuinely surprised at this comment.

    Congrats on editing!
My favorite book I read in July was Dreadful by Caitlin Rozakis. It reminded me a lot of the middle grade Patricia Wrede's The Dark Lord's Daughter, and both books are on the cozy side. In Dreadful, a person wakes up to realize that (apparently!) he's a dark wizard who has lost his memories. But, because he's lost his tragic back story, he no longer really wants to be evil. But there's a princess in his dungeon and a plot afoot, so he can't just abandon everything either. What to do?! It's comedic and light WITHOUT a romance plot, which impressed me.
Great job on the July wrap up, and great job doing a wrap up even when you considered not. As back to school will put me back in the classroom and my monthly book count will fall from 4-10 books a month to... hopefully at least 2? Having an example of "but we're celebrating what we DID read!" is great.

I just stumbled onto your channel and your review of Eragon convinced me I need to subscribe 😂 I read it when it first came out and I was a child, so rereading it a few weeks ago was very nostalgic. Started July breezing through the second Dark Tower book The Drawing of Three and then spent the rest of the month reading Frankenstein! I’ve been wanting to read some more of the classics but honestly the style of writing for Frankenstein and Dracula the month before just doesn’t do well with my ADHD. Sometimes I would have to shake my head and start a paragraph again so it would make sense! 🤯🤯 Just started the third Dark Tower book The Wastelands and I’m loving it.

Also my July was ok, I had my birthday on the 14th and got 6 books, 2 of which I read and I'm finishing reading a series I've been working on since June. I'm not excited for back to school, that means getting up at 7am every day again 🥱, but I've started compiling a list of spooky books I want to read once the snow starts flying 🇨🇦 which should be late october, I want snow/Christmas themed books and have about 4 or 5 on the docket. Love your videos jaysen, the monthly wrap ups, one piece reactions (even though I've never seen one piece), and I've newly discovered your junk journals are all my fav, wishing you guys a great end to your summer 😀
