That is a cool looking terracotta pot where did you buy it? I just noticed a lot of people asked the same exact question and I did some Searching on the interweb ...lol ...can't find them to buy so... I'm just gonna make my own! Good with this video & giving me an awesome idea! 👍✌️
Where to buy this pot?? 😀😀.. I have the normal shape clay pot. I sealed the hole (bottom) and I put the pot in to plastic container. So the water will sip slowly to the clay pores.. I hv no worry of leave the house for a week.
@jennandcherries. The terracotta pot doesn't have a drainage hole so the water has to slowly seep through the terracotta walls to moisten the soil. Works like an inversed olla. Instead of having the soil surround the olla with the water inside, here the water surrounds the olla with the soil inside. The soil doesn't get overly wet. For plants that need less water and can tolerate drought conditions (Birkins, Snake plants, ZZs, etc), it's good practice to hold off on filling the water reservoir for a day or two.
Honestly I think this advice is a little odd. If you keep your plants in self watering pots for a long time the roots grow down into the water. They are used to being moist and they can take as much water as they need. Letting these moist water roots dry out for two days and then getting them wet again will cause rot that can then travel up into the full root ball. Just keep the water level the same. Water when it’s almost empty.
If my understanding is correct, there'sno hole in this pot so it only wicks moisture through the terra-cotta, so there is no water they can directly reach except through the porous pottery ❤
@@AA-yc3ccIt is called a pumice stone, it comes in different sizes, it is a porous volcanic stone such as perlite, vermiculite, zeolite that you can use in semi-hydroponics
Anyone have any ideas for a self watering plant hanging from ceiling? ( besides, move the plant). I thought about a syphon system that wasn’t ugly ……. 🤔. Or a pully system. Now i think I’ll try using a wine bottle full of water, stuck upside down in dirt. Still not sure. For now I climb on furniture.
Id rather just water. Too many soil types, needs different watering. Already too much to keep bonsai soil watered. Definitely dont need soil keeping things soaked/too dry.
Ben, russians talk about blowing up dams and other critical infrastructure all the time. They talk about whiping of the whole Khrakiv district. With people and everything. Blowing up a dam in Ukraine would not be the first time they did it. I am very dissapointen about your aboutism.
To anyone asking about the pot. I found it online; it's from Urban Outfitters and is called Izzie.
Thank you!
I went to UO online and can't see it there. They have a self watering planter but not that one. :(
You read a lot of viewer's minds. Thank you for letting us know where to find the pot.
Not all heroes wear capes
Thank you.❤ I hope I find it. Kind of you to help us.😊
This pot has me rethinking so many thrift-able options for self watering plants!
Me2... Salvation Army here i come!!
Yes!!!
I just looked it up on urban outfitters and it's 80 dollars and out of stock 😉
Create with what you have, just grab the idea and be creative ❤
I think the Terra cotta in the self watering pot with the chunky spill makes it work. As the terra cotta dries it takes in water makes sense
Bro the clay don’t dry out…😂. Its porous material. Allows moisture to seep thru so soil receives it
I love plants but I was watching your dog the whole time! He or she is adorable!! 🫶
My fav is the puppy in the back. He looks sooo confused! 😂😂😂😂😂
That pot is gorgeous! Where did you buy it?
Second the question 🙋🏻♀️ por favor 🙏
@@creativestarter third!
Yes need to know where the terracotta came from!!
I need these
@@Zihnias thank you!
That's a beautiful, unique looking pot
I just love how the pot looks!
I'm afraid of self-watering pots but this is beautiful!
Why?
@@user-ed7et3pb4oit’s much easier to get root rot
You're dog is precious. Though you already know it.god bless y6you both and the plants too.❤❤❤
Nice Sharing
BEAUTIFUL DOG, GREAT MUSIC.❤
African violets looooove self watering pots. At least mine do. They flower very regularly when the soil is almost constantly moist.
Looking fab, love the pot 💚🌿🌵🌱
I need that pot in my life... so cute!!
Simy amazing👍 👌👌pot very nice
👌👌👍
I love your adorable doggo sitting in the sun and looking on as mom gives the plants some love.
I liked the idea 😍
I’ve always wanted a birkin!!! They’re so pretty
They're also very easy to care for. I hope you get to own one. Mine is definitely among the favourites of my houseplants.
Nice idea

Hahahha😂 look dog in background like who cares mom 😂
Dogs name??? 👀💜🥳🐾
Unique planter ❤❤
muito fofo o cachorrinho so olhando 😍😘😘🐕
Wow! I like how you split this plant into two. Never knew that could be done!
The roots of your.plant will rot if there is no air circulation in the water container. Hmmmm...
Beautiful plant s
Where do you get these pots???? They are stunning!!
Do the roots not get angry (rotten lol) if you leave the water sitting there? Or does the plant just suck up what it needs?
She said you have to let it dry out. So neither, just need good timing.

Yes I have few plants just growing in water
Nice
I think this is what I am missing in my self watering pots. I need the chunky soil mix and let them dry.
Nice sharing
Let that pot soak for 30-45 mins before potting saves water and keeps you from overwatering
The plant is beautiful but so is your dog!
That Burkin looks great
I have grown mine in pure water or soil, these are great plants.
This container and water bowl is awesome. Pls give information we’re to buy and price
I keep my plants in self watering pots if they require more than one watering a week. It's the only way I can keep anthurium! LoL
Definetly let them dry out. My dragon fruit got root rot.
Great
❤❤❤❤❤
Where did u get that pot?
Excuse me for my ignorance, but with the self watering pot, how do you ensure that it dries out between watering?
Can you tell me about chunky mix pls
Q: do you bake your soil before using it? (To sanitize it & prevent pests)
No don't do that. it's actually the opposite you want a lot of good fungus and good bacteria, you don't have enough which causes disease
I use to do that for the same reason
Unfortunately I can't save short videos 😢
You can text it to yourself 😊
How do you keep the leaves from burning and rotting off?
I set my fern in a large bowl of Epson salt water. It is nice and green and growing.
❤❤❤
Hi 👋 where can I purchase this pot from ??? Thank you! ❤
Agreed! Where’d you buy? Or what’s the name to look up? I searched self watering pot and got a bunch of lame results.
Beautiful! What kind of plant is this?
It's a Philodendron Birkin.
Aloe Vera hydrate the soil very good, a frienship between plants should be normalized 😊
Where do you buy this?
please somebody tell me what are contents of that chunky soil mixture
What soil do you use? Do you mind sharing? Also your pots are beautiful
Its called orchid bark with white pebbles that I forgot the name
Bark dries faster than soil or dirt and its airy and smells less earthy
@@tamarar7156 okay, thank you. Please let let me know if you think of the name

Take it further and put air stone in it
Seems it draws bugs into my pots
Won't the terracotta go moldy?
It looks like two clay pots
Every thing is okay….but
,does roots really need o2🧐
So Ricky soil allows oxygen to come through
And root rot is due to lack of oxygen in the soil not too much water
Please tell what plant is it?
un Philodendron birkin
Who's Phillip?

My dog eats the leaves of my house plants and licks the soil too 😌🤤
This is just bottom watering 🙄
Used to hate aka didn’t understand lol
