- WDSF Professional Division will shine in its splendor as the 2019 WDSF PD World Championship Latin takes place in Bangkok (THA) on Sunday, September 1st 2019. Will the reigning Champions take home the title again? Or will there be new names on the podium?

This was in Bangkok...2019...it's sort of not often to have WDSF competition in the South eastern Asian
nations...hope this kinda event be repeated again in Bangkok...in the future...!
O my they have great control I would be bumping into every one they may have some slip ups but they carry on I love it

It is hard to enjoy each couple when there are so many dancers on the floor at the same time. When I was 24 I was at a wedding reception with my husband. We did some dancing but neither of us could really dance. An older guy (48?) came to our table and asked me to dance. I apologized right away explaining I couldn't dance, but he convinced me to try anyway. Wow could that man dance! That was the only time in my life I danced with a man who could lead by the smallest motion to get me to mimic his moves. Now I know what a Dressage horse feels like! The smallest motion and you can immediately look good on the dance floor. An experience I will always think back fondly on.
Am I the only one who thinks that Amateur dancers are far better than the Professional Division dancers???

Music choices, I am so surprised. Even the latin dance has succumbed to Top 40, come one! Stick with the traditional pieces, they work, they are authentic. At 17:00 - the vocalist cannot pull off those notes! Where did you find this Cover, just not appropriate for a World Competition of this caliber.
Even with all that room and experience they bump into each other.

There is so very little that distinguishes one dance from another if anything. It's the same generic moves from one dance to another. They do not dance to the music. Their routines have little if any resemblance to the dance they are suppose to be doing.
comontater I’ve noticed that, too. Back in the 80’s & 90’s you could tell the difference between the dance styles. these days....not so much. You get a jive hop, a samba roll and that’s about it.

Pop Naty. Yep! Yep! Yep! I struggle to watch these two because they rely so much on hideous tricks and gimmicks like this little number here, that have absolutely no relevance to anything Latin. Yet they are world champions. Go figure!
Joe Testa Agreed. I’m torn between enjoying this couple immensely when I see them just moving cleanly and effortlessly, and being appalled by this type of gimmickry which seems to pop up throughout their routines.

Fiona Midgley. Indeed!! They are the perfect example I feel of gone too far. Way overdone!!! The look, the dancing and most other things. Anna to me has become too muscular and more akin to a body builder than a dancer. Her tan is so dark that she looks mildly incinerated, rather than tanned and together with her muscularity makes her visually rather harsh. Gabriel's hair, whilst fashionable 20 years ago is somewhat last century now. Id love to know what their rational is behind it all. I along with many others it seems just don't like it. My theory is, alot about their dancing and indeed quite a few others as well these days, is they very much focus on endeavouring to win the audience and judges of course with. Drumroll----------showbiz razzamatazz wow factor, otherwise known as THE BULLSHIT FACTOR!!! Seems to be working a treat because up until a decade or so ago this would have been condemned. Now they crown you world champion. And they say nothing has changed in ballroom Latin dancing. Anyway, there's my take on it for what its worth. Cheers.

007 esq. Many are so garish that the term scary is bordering on complementary. All in the name of trying to be noticed, and they were, for all the wrong reasons. Costumis horribilis. If someone had turned up in a really simple, stylish, understated number they would have stood out like an elephant in a room full of mice. I wish dancesport would understand that more is not necessarily better. There's your proof right here. Cheers!
Either mind numbingly boring or totally OTT. I so wish they would remember why they are dancing instead of posing for the cameras. Some of the choreography is hideous as well.
There are some beautiful dancers in there though. 🥰

Jane Moore. What a wonderfully apt description. I fell off my chair laughing when I read it. What about the nude creation with the green leafy things all over it, trying to look like a tree branch in a breeze. Most of the costumes here would look far better in an incinerator but it is good comedy I suppose.

And what was with the court jester wearing different colored leggings (red and white), in the same heat as the green salad and shower pouf?? I may add to the ridiculous costumes, the awful music. The first samba song, and the 'illegal alien song'??? Between the costumes and music, I could not watch the whole video...
Nice, but the dancing on the 2nd song "La gozadera" was not so pleasant as it is danced anywhere here in Latin America, I suppose the technique is perfect, but some feeling is missing

Flowers Flowers I think maybe the prelim rounds are in the morning maybe? Semi and final at night probably when there should be more spectators for the main events. That is my guess otherwise they could book a smaller venue.
