Kids can decide to have their information withheld from recruiters and can just choose to not be in the military. So no, kids shouldn’t drink, smoke or anything at 16, and they certainly shouldn’t vote, they are young and dumb. I’m 17 and fall right into the young and dumb category, I am still mentally maturing and developing my views of the world, the last thing I should be allowed to do is too damage my brain or lungs by drinking and smoking.

And because college professors don't have to put up with anything since everyone is considered an adult. If you cause a disturbance the professor can kick you out and if you refuse just call the police and have you trespassed. They don't have to deal with angry parents or anything. If you are going to teach, college professor is the way to go. I would never in a million years be teacher for a public school.

As a teacher you have to deal with disrespectful children, you cannot hit, throw things, or yell at children as if you are on their same level. I have to deal with disrespectful kids all the time and as the OLDER person I have to deal with them PROPERLY. Kids do stupid things and don't know any better. I used to be the one to get screamed at by a teacher at least a few times a month, this is when I was back in elementary being a clueless kid but not anymore now though. I know the sermons and yellings of a teacher will always be the same but listening to what they're saying is important. You'll understand which teachers supports you. Made me realize that I had to get my shit straight because exceeding the expectations of a teacher is always a good feeling.

After that we just kinda realized that he's a human too and started being nicer to him and he turned out to be a pretty chill dude. That class turned out to be my favorite class that I've had in years. Not saying this applies for all teachers though, some are just assholes.

this gives me mad anxiety and flashbacks to teachers- my 3&4 grade teacher hated me for no reason, and yelled at me for putting glue on paper the wrong way... i was in grade 3- and in 4th grade i had panic attacks daily due to emetephobia and mad amounts of anxiety. she was only nice to me when i had panic attacks, but went back to being a jackass when i stopped.
In my high school we had bullying fucking figured out. We were taught pretty early that students shouldn’t disrespect each other, so instead we all just bullied the shit out of the teachers. Imagine starting class and 30 students, almost everybody in the room, just starting belittling everything you stand for as an educator. So many good times. Nobody was left out, students didn’t have to feel bad about themselves, and we got to waste a LOT of time - overall a highly effective way to create student equality and mutual respect.
I remember once when the teacher I saw as a second mom just got so frustrated with some other students that she just started yelling at them for the first time that school year, and the next day the school councilor and even the dean talked to the whole class, and while they didnt call anyone out, everyone in the class knew who it was directed to. One of the emotionally toughest weeks I had at that school

and in 4th grade i had panic attacks daily due to emetephobia and mad amounts of anxiety. she was only nice to me when i had panic attacks, but went back to being a jackass when i stopped.

In my high school we had bullying fucking figured out. We were taught pretty early that students shouldn’t disrespect each other, so instead we all just bullied the shit out of the teachers. Imagine starting class and 30 students, almost everybody in the room, just starting belittling everything you stand for as an educator. So many good times. Nobody was left out, students didn’t have to feel bad about themselves, and we got to waste a LOT of time - overall a highly effective way to create student equality and mutual respect.

I remember once when the teacher I saw as a second mom just got so frustrated with some other students that she just started yelling at them for the first time that school year, and the next day the school councilor and even the dean talked to the whole class, and while they didnt call anyone out, everyone in the class knew who it was directed to. One of the emotionally toughest weeks I had at that school
