Unfortunate that cat phones seem to have been discontinued, so we wont see a true successor to the s22 that works in the US until these Japanese companies realize there's a digital minimalist market here.
Japanese keitai makers really should start at least including the essential US bands (2, 4, 5, 12). I imagine gray market imports would increase in sales if they did. Kyocera, etc., are you listening? 🙏
From my usage of it, the finger print sensor should be on the hinge honestly. Where it is currently is okay but the only way to make it seamlessly easy is by registering your palm as a fingerprint to open it. Had to take up 4 fingerprint profiles to get consistent results but it feels good every time I open and unlock it in one smooth motion, definitely my favourite part so far.
Why do all the good android flip phones only come out unable to be used in the US. If they made one that ran android and was aestheticlly pleasing they would make so much money
@@JoseBrionesI would love to get one of those, but I'm on Verizon ATM and my general area is awful with T-Mobile. I'm hoping in the next year or two we get a phone like this with all the American bands.
Hopefully you might be able to answer this question. I have T-Mobile and researching the phone's communication bands and T-Mobile bands, it looks like it should work well. I am surprised to hear you got limited 2g service. Can you expand as to where you were trying to use it and other parameters that prevented better connection issues?
This phone does not have adequate bands for T-mobile. I used it all throughout the Front Range area of CO and it did not have any availability for the bands found in it. AT&T worked better, but it is almost non-existent as well. This phone is not adequate for USA use.
I'm in italy and here the most common 4G bands are 1, 3 , 7 and 20 I read that this phone uses bands 1, 3 and 20 but not the 7, so I can't decide if I should buy it or not. Id use it as an everyday phone
Thanks for the video! I have a question. Have you tried using another phone (that has service here in the states) as a hotspot for it? Can this phone make calls and texts by hotspot internet connection?
Hi i have a Question, im from Austria (Europe) and am looking for a dumbphone but i need WhatsApp. What are your suggestions? It would be nice if you make a Video for Europe.
Most of the Japanese phones and also the TTfone 970 are compatible in Europe and have Whatsapp. Check the dumbphonefinder and click on the Europe version.
Thank you for covering this phone! I have question, is it possible to make it work with virtual mouse like MATVT or Apps4Flip like how you did with CAT S22? Thank you in the future!
@JoseBriones there was a big ol red button u didnt talk about.... that's a ROOKIE mistake..... that's the FINGERPRINT sensor.. dont make rookie mistakes ...hahahahahahahah
Thank you for the review! I like the touchscreen wirh T9 keyboard :) it reminds me of the Samsung Folder 2 (which I was unsure if that phone had UK phone support). ♡
Hey Jose, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, currently I'm looking for more works, would you love to have a logo to help your audiences easier to find and follow your unique dumb phone focused contents, as the loyalty building trademark symbol surrounding your works and as the proud image to print on your merchs too? I would love to help you create a creative monogram logo inspired by your passions for you! Let me know if you interested to make it happen! 🙂
This is very nice looking, i wish there were slider phones like this, like a jelly with a slideout keyboard
375 dollars?? Some companies are really taking advantage of the flip phone trend…
They are cheaper, but importing it, unlocking it, etc make it that expensive.
It's a lot cheaper importing it yourself than going through kyoex
I bought mine for 150euro free shipping and was unlocked
@@Itsuki_GamerWow, that's nice dude! Where did you buy it? I'm from Europe too :)
@@shiivaaaaa I got it from ebay.

AHHHH you finally got it!!!! The worst part is always "but got USA users" 😭😭😭😭
usa moment
Finally you have the dream flip phone

New Mudita phone in the radar, seems to be a smart phone with e-ink display. I'll be looking forward your review.

The Kyocera ones (no touchscreen) do work in the US with T-mobile. I agree with the general point

I wish it was more cutie patootie like the sharp models 😭
But love that its on Android 12 and I can use it for work
I like this but hate leather with stitching. Plus all this gold. If they did it simple as kyocera that would my instant buy
Will it run the line app? I heard that Line stopped its app service for flip phones…
Beautiful
Hoping for some company to import it in India and sell it.
Will this make calls in 4T for the new minimum Australian standard? 4G I mean…

@JoseBriones Thanks. I live in Denver and hearing it does not work helps to know. I was going to buy one this weekend. Keep the good work.

did you find it for sale here in Europe?
Do you think it will work properly in Mexico? I want to buy it, but not to use it just at home, but to use it as my outdoor phone.
It should work. Be advised that this device has some issues like I mentioned in the video with hardware. The MIV Style Folder would be a better option
do notifications and caller ids pop up on the small front display screen?
Notifications, yes. Caller ID, sometimes.
Have you found another phone like this that is the same form factor, same or similar camera pixel, touch screen, software..., but works in The USA?
Nope
@@JoseBriones Bummer. This one is great, but not working in the USA (even on T-Mobile) is a disappointment. Thanks for the reply and reviews.
I have it but i cant make it my daily phone because of the bands 🙄 it support someones, but i keep without signal in few areas. (Im in Argentina)
Thanks Lad. Does it work in Canada I wonder?
It should with Telus.
@@JoseBriones Thanks lad. Not bloody 2g though right😉👍?

Only with VoIP apps like Google Voice or something to like 2line
@@JoseBriones Thank you so much for replying!
Mive style folder or this one which is better future proof?
Mive Style Folder due to better hardware
does google maps on this work?? and youtube music?
Yes to both

Is there any way to use this in America like could I add a band somehow or something or somehow get a weird carrier or something
Or a way to make the cat s22 have more ram
Neither is possible. Sorry 😔

Yes. You can configure a mouse app for this.
Thank you @@JoseBriones, have a nice week 👍
Unrelated question: are you hyped about the Mudita Kompakt?
It will be a good phone for many people. I don't see myself using it as a daily driver, but I am excited that it'll be a solution for a lot of people.
Does this support my German LTE/5G Telekom SIM card from my iPhone 15 pro?
This phone should work in Germany

Only one can be 4G.
Why can't we have nice things in the US
