Backward , last year was a surprise, Demko out , boser and miller , Hughes will be steady core but won’t have last years numbers , sorry I don’t have confidence in Petey , he will have trouble getting 65 points this year and won’t be a factor , without zadorov D won’t be same , only upside will be DJ , but it’s just my opinion
I think you're right for the most part. Last year, there were no expectations and they were amazing and won the division. This year, expectations are high, but they will not be as dominant, making the playoffs, but not being a top team in the NHL. As for Petey, it's hard to trust him because he's been so inconsistent, so I totally get that. It really depends on which version of Petey we see out of the gate. Do we see pre-all-star game Petey who was dominating and averaging over a point-per-game? Or do we see playoff Petey, who lacked confidence and couldn't get his grade A shot off. For Vancouver's sake, I hope him and DeBrusk really connect chemistry-wise, which can boost his confidence. We'll see though.
@@ClutchGrabHockey I hope Petey proves me wrong , as Canucks fans we need a Stanley cup for our life time , it’s been too long and beers has been too expansive at the arena , we have support this team and they have made fortunes from us , we need something back too , I am almost 50 so one cup will do for me I am not greedy
I hear you. Would love to see Vancouver get a Stanley Cup with this core, they're fun to watch. And of course, it would be nice to see the Canada cup curse end too, haha.
Hey, thanks for the comment Jiri. The Canucks just couldn't afford what Zadorov and Lindholm could have gotten (and did) on the open market. Boston paid both of them a boat load of money. As for the other guys, I just don't think they fared very well with the coaching staff and in the future plans of the team. There were better guys out there that we could pursue.
It was too expensive to pay them what they wanted. As a Canucks fan I'm going to miss them but I think management made the right long term decision to let them go. They might make the Bruins better for this season but their expensive long term contracts aren't going to age well. Meanwhile we liberated cap space to bring in new blood.
@@IusedtohaveausernameIliked You put it perfectly. Those contracts are going to age very badly. It was a great long term decision not to sign these guys.
Oh jeeze, chill out. You're aware that everyone has their own style, right? This video isn't meant to be a deep dive. It's supposed to be a high level, who's in and out, assessment.

Why did they loose those players, namely Zadorov and Lindholm?

Cuz they suck
@@ClutchGrabHockey Boston got fleeced, Lindholm and Big Z are not getting any better.

Season preview? 2min? Do some actual research.

Hilarious. The Canucks are a better team this year. Nice try bozo
And how do you figure that? A worse defense group and seemingly worse goaltending, so long as Demko is injured. Explain.
