Before the internet I was playing darts down the pub with my mates, but I am English so it was probably a bit different for you guys. I really wish I could go back to those days. :😇
My oldest received his phone at 11. We watched it closely. We also constantly discuss internet safety. My husband is a 38 year Officer so our son knew dad what he was talking about. He's always been responsible and a good listener. With that said, we decided not to give phones to his siblings at such a young age. They will get phones that only make calls when they each step into private high school. This way, they can always get in touch with us
I am a parent who did give my kid a phone very young, but I want her to have access to phone because we do live in crazy times. Do I monitor her yes but I am very truthful my daughter at 7 watched sounds of freedom they know what dangers do lurk and as scary as it is its reality.
@chavezchrissy I homeschool the 5 siblings. Their internet access is very limited. During their extra activities, one of us is always there. I worked with abused children as well as fostered many children. Some were sexually abused. The youngest was 2y and 9 months. I've seen the pain and confusion a child goes through who has been preyed upon. Our world is so sick. We never let our guard down with them. We are giving our kids a great life. While protecting them from the pedos or worst.
@user-zx6hq6ve7d eventually they will go into the world that we know is very ill and them being prepared for reality isn't a bad thing my opinion it's precautions because as much as I want to believe I can be there to save them always that might not be the case and I want them to know that they might have to save themselves.
@user-zx6hq6ve7d my personal experience frames my perception my dad protected his children from the reality that existed he thought he could always protect us from the cruel and evil that existed until he didn't and realized that bubble he put us in prevent us from being able to defend ourselves if necessary, but we learn, it's why I was able to not become a victim again because I knew that I had the ability to at least try to fight back and with good training and truth I wasn't afraid to pull that trigger to save myself. I grew up in a rough environment where the weak were prey upon and most didn't survive.
Parents just don't give them a phone with internet on it just the plain old text and call. A lot of us survived with out a phone in our pockets when we were kids because it was mounted on the wall at home.
How will social media determine the age of the person requesting access? Several apps or websites I have gone to just ask my age, No verification is done. So a 12 year old goes to TikTok ang the app asks, "Are you over 15 years of age?" and the 12 year old says "YES".....Where Is The Protection????
Hello, I am Mohsen Khani from Santa Clara, California. In relation to racism, today's feedback should be very different from the past, because we breathe civilization, culture and humanity. But in the case of me and my family in Santa Clara, California, unfortunately, it happened clearly in the family court itself in such a way that after three years, I still could not reconcile my mental condition with this incident, and I am frustrated and displaced in the pursuit of justice that is dormant and reforming the laws. I try to have a taste and apply it in any way I can. Thanks
This isn't the first time something similar has happened. There was once the forced sterilization of people deemed unfit for propagation. This resulted in an estimated 70,000 sterilization procedures. That's what happens when you erase your history.
😂 Nothing like this has happened in history. However this oration is making some massive leaps. I think kids should not be on social media, but that is up to their parents. I thought the right was about limited government and personal freedom, but they keep proving the opposite. Legislating everyone's behavior.
@@mojokuku2745 I have seen them. My reference is to children and social media. Nothing like that has happened before and forced sterilization has zero to do with this video and I hate to be a jerk but 70k is nothing in a population of 100's of millions. Forced sterilization isn't a thing anymore due to case law and no SCOTUS verdict is going to hold it up. No matter who controls the court.
@@mojokuku2745 Did you just quote Buck vs Bell? OMG. Case law has crushed that for ages. That is a bygone ruling outlasted by law. I doubt anyone takes it to the SCOTUS but if they do, they will get blasted no matter who controls the court. 🤦🏼♂️🤯

Kids/adults have to be 21 before they can drink a beer BUT at 18 they can be forced to go to war and are expected to defend and die for their country. This does not make sense.

😅- have you seen parents today. Children are doomed if you expects parents to…parent. Parents are kids themselves now-a-days and social media is their babysitter or they working too hard being their daughters best friend, not parent. .
^ This.
Facts just look at the evidence no doubt.
Roe V Wade helped stop kids being parents.
Agreed! You absolutely nailed it.
@listlessvessels5Highly ignorant comment,son.
Amen Tyrus
DeSantis is about 10 years too late the damage to kids has been huge!!
Better late than never
Go DeSantis!
Gutfeld….the late night KING !🇺🇸👍
We used to go to the movies especially on Saturdays or Boy's Club when I was a youngster. Now my niece starts and ends her day with her face in a phone watching ridiculous junk, and she's only 5
You what's sad, the governor is,DOING THE PARENTS JOB!!! WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH PARENTS THESE DAYS? they're worse than the kids
Before the internet, we went outside and hung with our friends.
WOW GREG THAT WAS YOUR BEST MONOLOGUE EVER! YOU USED THE PERFECT BALANCE OF SARCASM AND HUMOR TO DRIVE THE TRUTH HOME. Our children are the most vulnerable and precious of our humanity! I am a recovered alcoholic/addict who was not a mother at all and now that I am clean and sober I recognize how much protection and guidance the must have from parents! THIS IS JUST GREAT! TY!
I could go back!!
I was reading, 😢 driving to meet friends or go to work, and raising kids before the internet and social media. Now im 75, going blind and crippled by spinal arthritis, so i can't do any of those things.😢
psychological, yes, medical? hell..NO. that came in a syringe.
My thoughts, exactly!
Greg your on fire 🔥🔥🔥tonight..🤣🤣🤣
They need to get rid of all social media
Before the internet I was playing darts down the pub with my mates, but I am English so it was probably a bit different for you guys. I really wish I could go back to those days. :😇
It's Jill Biden in sole cycle not soul cycle... 🤷🏼♂️

T is on point.
@@chavezchrissy she doesnt have to have a cell phone, to have access to a phone. You've handed her the keys to a dangerous thing. Best of luck!
Go Gov!
Hello there🖐️🖐️how are you feeling today!hope this texts find you in a good spirit,God bless you!!!
It's a nice thought by DeSantis, HOW does he suggest social media verify the age of person setting up an account?
Mid to late NEVER! Genius!
Zuckerbergs face looks like something stuck to a glue trap 😅 " to funny😅❤ good one. We wonder if he realizes this ?😵💫😁👌
Parents just don't give them a phone with internet on it just the plain old text and call.
There’s this thing called an ID son. You may be one of those hapless people who don’t have the brains to get an ID. But, they want you to vote.
@@PhilipFacka It most certainly has, look it up. Lots of documentaries and court cases over it. You can start with Buck v. Bell..
@@mojokuku2745 Terrible reference. If you know anything you'd know that there is federal case law that invalidates that.
Keep children off cellphones and social media
yeah, it's called DEI and they teach it at woke dem schools!
DEI is Woke-speak for DIE.
Kat nailed it!
I lost my FB account just before the 2016 election. After I had been very vocal about my support for Trump, they demanded a copy of my drivers license which I refused to do.
😮😮
Parents need to get off the phones also. Kids watch their parents and pick up from there. Parenting is involvement/interacting with the child/children. BUT PARENTS NOWADAYS WANT EVERYONE ELSE TO DO THE RAISING SO THEY HAVE MORE “ALONE “ TIME TO DECOMPRESS ON THEIR PHONES.
I BLAME LAZY PARENTS😮😢
Fox News is a great media outlet for America these days.
Kids/adults have to be 21 before they can drink a beer BUT at 18 they can be forced to go to war and are expected to defend and die for their country.
This does not make sense.
Nobody forced them to go to war, we don't have drafting in this country. They know what might happen to them when they signed up.
@@TheCrossing2271 you missed the point. If people are old enough to go to war and possibly die at 18 then they are old enough to drink alcohol at 18.
I was reading more books before 1998. At that time I didn't know what damage the screen could do to your eyesight.🤓

Good on Governor DeSantis!!
As an 80s baby I'm thankful I can say I was apart of the last "go play outside" generation...I truly feel sorry for the generations after, including those of my 3 kids. The lifelong problems that will become prevalent from a childhood full of electronic devices, lack of social interaction and "instant" mindsets concern me. Very much. I am not afraid to over parent in the lives of my own children.
What was I doing before internet? Playing video games 😂
Now that was a good monologue.
Emily obviously a little bit VALLEY GIRL. I mean Like totally
💯 parenting not government
Gutfeld is definitely a "Hunger Games" commentator 🤷🏼♂️
Spelled Cringe Jean Pierre wrong.

Before the Internet... Met friends at places planned days before, knew phone numbers, had privacy, answering machines.. and more
Still remember phone numbers, still meet friends at places planned weeks ahead, still have privacy, still have voicemail (answering machine). What are you talking about?
@@PhilipFacka 80s if you had no net. Not all had it, but did at work.
@@ianbarber311 I had BBS's and the net in the mid to late 80s. Social media wasn't a thing, but Usenet, MUDs and private/public BBS were, along with Telenet and Tymnet. I hacked a relatively famous local company's unix server and got a pw file that was easy to crack. Every month or two a sysop would drop in and kick me. I actually remember the first day their public login showed #5 *experimental WWW access*
I wish I would have kept that skill up. I would be formidable in infosec. Instead I chose a happier, but less lucrative path.
