  • Cool upgrade: Depth Gauge/Guide for DeWalt Oscillating Multi-Tools, fits cordless DCS353, DCS354, DCS355, DCS356 and corded DWE315.
    Strangely DeWalt sells all three necessary parts separately (they should really include these with the tool anyway), here you go:
    N275350 Block Assembly amzn.to/3hb6NYT
    N275341 Depth Guide amzn.to/3UkOWgU
    N278801 Knob amzn.to/3DQJKKR
    (you can also use a machine screw with #8-36 thread instead of buying the knob but I like the knob better)

    I know this video is a year old, but thank you regardless.
    My DeWalt tool didn't come with the depth gauge, but I found a kit that has all three pieces from an online vendor.

      The instructions with mine had images showing the depth guage but no text or indication as to what it was. I was wondering if I had parts missing in the box.

    You are right, they are pricing everything separately nowadays. I'm surprised when you buy a DeWalt tool, they don't have a separate charge for the box and then another charge for the owners manual. So much for making the customer feel "value added".

    Just bought mine. It came with the depth gauge. Thanks for showing me how to use it!

      You're welcome! Cool to see that DeWalt now offers the depth gauge as part of the package! Consider using thread locker otherwise this thing will vibrate itself loose quickly!

    I'd like to buy one but in Canada they're ridiculously expensive. Buying all 3 pieces separately will cost you just over $50.

    Should of been designed with two rollers instead of one so it can be more stable for more consistent depth instead of one where it can tilt.
    On a different note. The quick trigger blade change on these Dewalt multitools are a great feature compared to other ones out there. You can easily and quickly change blades or change angles in an instant.

    • @CascadesHomestead
      @CascadesHomestead  Год назад

      Yeah, two rollers would be better. And yes, I love the quick tool-less blade change, on my old Bosch it took a hex-key.

      @@CascadesHomestead I thought about it. And I am thinking now that the one wheel is by design so you can rock it back and forth to clear shavings when making long cuts instead of just a plung cut. You would just have to adjust it according the corner tip of the blade at a 45 degree angle which would be the deepest point.

    • @CascadesHomestead
      @CascadesHomestead  Год назад +1

      Hey Bubba, I'll have to play with it more but there have been a few times where I was trying to do very precise cuts and two rollers would have been better. Well honestly, I should have just used a router for that, but I was too lazy and used the multi-tool instead :)
