I barely just seen the cus speech today and I couldn't believe it, that's so amazing that Stallone took it word for word the was cus said it to iron Mike! Beautiful
Bro, I wish people would stop using that excuse to undermine everything that celebrities have done. Sure, Tyson’s guilty of that and maybe MJ as well but that doesn’t detract from who they were - some of the greatest masters of their craft
Too bad Tyson was not worthy of such praise or people. I'm sorry dont give .e that bad background shit. Being a rapist is in you. Have seen poor gangsters not have that scumbag trait in them. I hate giving Tyson props or respect because that what he was. Great ability. Zero character.
There Mickey in my life was my father. He loved me, he disciplined me when I needed it. He taught me how to respect everyone even if they don't respect you. I thank God that was the father I was destined to have. I watched him die when I was only 12 yrs old. I felt that day my life ended, but now at 38 the way he was and the things he said to me have kept me going and I still remember and go back to the things he taught me. Thank you Father. Without you I would have lost. I miss you.
This scene never fails to make me cry. My grandfather used to call me Rocky and I just picture him taking to me like this when I’m down. He was diagnosed with cancer when him and I got a lot closer and this just hits home for me.
Everyone needs a Mickey in their corner. And sometime we gotta be a Mickey to somebody else! ❤

Yes I lost my Mickey my gramma in 2013 still hurts to this day ah God and I miss her so much .... your right mate sending you positive light and blessings have a nice Sunday mate 💫👍✌💫
To my son. I was a Trainwreck going nowhere. I had my son last year at 38. I'm older and wiser. In my prime I was reckless. In my 20s I thought living like Goodfellas was the way to go. Getting arrested and losing it all didn't even bring me to my knees. But looking into my son's eyes at 3am 2 days after he was born. Just him and I. His mother was asleep. And I got to feed him for the first time. I was teary like a Mfer
I lost it when he said, "I will watch you make good and when I leave you'll not only know how to fight but you'll be able to take care of yourself outside of the ring." If I had someome like this in my life, I would have been a lot better off. 💜
Some of us are born to not have a figure like this in our lives (unfortunately). But I figure that eventually we become our own inspiration (with our own 'father figure' on our shoulder, that *we've* put there), and we are stronger for it. I hope you come out fighting and do well for yourself.
I rarely cry but this was so beautifully acted by Burgess Meredith, that I couldn't hold back the tears. The encouragement and love he had for his student made him into World champion, and for that, he loved his coach back. Such a touching scene. Both actors are brilliant.
This still brings tears to my eyes everytime i see this because I've lost so much in 2019. My girlfriend, military career, my grandfather passed. It seemed like life got hard I just started to get back onto my feet. 6 months after everything has happened I got a job at the post office, a new girlfriend and a relentless energy to be great at life this gets me through my rough days.
Well done mate , I haven’t lost anyone to death but have lost everyone through a 20 year drug addiction, depression and homelessness, life is hard, but whatever happens it’s always possible to believe in hope , I’ve had many times an moments over the years where that’s all I have had, I love this scene it’s been enough many times to help me pick my self back up off the floor an try again !!🥊
Ты молодец.Мы приговорены жить.....Нам ничего не остается. Пожелаю тебе терпения, любви, мирного неба над головой. Я из России. P.S. ненавижу политику.
I don't know why people say Stallone can't act, he is a very good actor and he can use real emotions while acting. The problem is many people are too ordinary to understand that his style is fucking different:)
hes like the tom jones of acting tom was a great singer but his gyrating ways overshadowed it he wasnt taken seriously enough..slys rambo and action man ways vs arnie and all that overshadowed his screen acting genius..
Burgess Meredith is one of my favorite actors of all-time. Seeing his character die in Rocky III and this scene from Rocky V both get to me every time.
I am fighting against cancer at the moment. Maybe cause one day i told to myself' what for you need this awful life' but micky and rocky give me hope and make me smile....amazing scene....you both made me cry tonight guys...thank you for the love and respect you have to eachother....blessed are the people who knew ro love and were loved before they leave this planet..

Grandpa. Lost him die to COVID, and- There's this chair at my grandparent's place, not too fancy, but it is comfy. Every day when he would get home from work, he would sit there. We knew that as *his* chair. I visit my grandma more nowadays, and whenever I come in, I see that chair. I half expect him to come in one day, me sitting in his chair, and he'll say to me "Move over, Squirrel." Some days are..harder than others.
Say what you want about the Rocky series, but when you are down, and feel like you are beaten, a scene from Rocky will give you the strength to get back up one more time. I'm going through something like that right now. I am not going to fix my situation overnight, but I was ready to give up and now I'm getting off the mat one more time. Thanks, Rock.
I wish you the best. These films are part of millions of people's lives growing up. They span a generation. And this is a great scene, inspired by Tyson's trainer Cus D'Amato. It wouldn't surprise me if Mickey intentionally references his name here 2:37
I am in my early 40's, Today I just lost my elderly friend that lives down stairs from me. He was an Army Vet, 75 years old. Sharp as a nail, but life took a tool on him physically. He taught me so much, He was just like Mickey. I knew of this video, so I watched it. Lets just say there are no more tears left that I could possibly let out. The video is so true to Me and my late friend. RIP Vince. (Mickey)
Sylvester Stallone actually wrote the Rocky movies. Hollywood producers wanted to give him a few million dollars for it, but Stallone wanted to be the lead character. He was literally unknown at the time, so nobody wanted to give him a chance. They wanted to buy the rights to the movie and have someone else play the lead role. So Stallone had to settle for a couple hundred thousand dollars for his script, and he got to play the lead role. Best decision he could have ever made. That's some real life motivation. Follow your dreams.

Incredibly good scene. It has everything. The poignancy of mickey saying now I'm giving it to you. Rocky following the memory and saying you was the angel. The lightheartedness at the end of what happened to his other cufflink. Cinematic masterpiece.

Being a fighter myself in my youth I took a few beatings in the ring .. I lost my father at 15 ... every time I took a solid hit to the head I could hear my father scream ..(get up)....this made my eyes water 😢... I’ll see him soon one day .. now I’m training my son and when I’m gone I hope he hears those same words ..(get up)...
Your father lives on through you and your son. You. Are. A. Fighter. Turn the pain into passion. I don't know you. But I love everyone and I want you to be strong. You made your father very proud.
This scene reminds me of my Grandpa Joe.... He was always there for me even when my parents weren't, I was amazing at Soccer, basketball and schoolwork. He always called me after every game, even showed up to a few even though he lived in Texas and I in WA. He passed away when I was 11 and I was hit by a drunk driver the next year breaking my arm and all the bones in my left knee. When he passed I felt like I lost my 'mick' the rest of my family didn't care for my athletics,. Even then ...I continued playing through all of that, sometimes after the toughest games and adversity I still wish he would call me just to tell me how proud he was of me again. You don't come across many people like that in your life.
it's hardly to believe your parents don't care about your athletes... probably they are to busy with other things, most of the parents work to much... and missing many of our best moments... god bless u and your family... be strong buddy. merry Christmas

the meaning behind all the Rocky movies is no matter how hard the struggle don't give up keep going fight with all u got live with a purpose get up and keep going because we all have a Mick that loves us
Seeing that scene reminds me so much of my late father. How he struggled but kept on fighting for me and my brother. I miss him so much and this brings me to tears.
Mickey gave no fucks about him in the beginning though. Even gave his locker to another fighter because he thought Rocky was a bum. Only reason why Mickey cared was once Rocky got that first opportunity to fight the champ, Apollo creed.
@@wisewords8972 nah he cared. He gave his locker away because Rocky could've been a great fighter from the beginning but was content taking cheap fights and being a "second rate loan shark". Did you even listen to what he said in that scene in the first movie? Lol
@@wisewords8972 He cared he just saw him as a great fighter wasting his talent fighting guys like Spider Rico. He even said so when Rocky asked him what his problem was with him . Someone obviously wasn't paying attention when they watched the 1st Rocky Movie

My mother used to tell me life ain't pretty. Work ain't easy but getting your ass to work everyday sure makes life pretty for your kids. She worked her hands to the bone .
This reminds me of me and my father right now. Dad has been lacking a reason to go on lately as it has been four years since Mom died. Now he's having surgery and has already told me he wants to go to sleep and not wake up.
Keep fighting for your father, like the great rocky once said " it ain't about how you hit, it's about how much you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward."
"I think people die when they don't wanna live no more." Had a neighbor who was a family friend. He couldn't take care of himself and eventually had to go into a home. His wife had been gone for a decade, and he didn't have many friends other than my family. 3 days after he moved in, they came up to get him for lunchtime, and he was slumped over in his chair. If death doesn't come looking for us, One day, we all lose the will to live and call death on our own.
Phil you’re on to life’s circle ⭕️,some of us never get this much figured out.I have some very trying and uncomfortable days, medical field is full of uncertainty.I love everyone,I give everyone a fair chance..Mickey was special. These movies take me Back to my child hood the late 60’s and 70’s.You live long enough you get to see all your friends and Love ones pass. When you feel there is nothing left,we let go!
Anybody who has an elder that's past their prime and has done nothing but give you motivation and inspirational aid threw the years, remember them and thank them. sometimes its just a phone call away. let them know their words were not wasted! They didn't have to help you, they just saw a winner in you and wanted to glorify it!
Don't care what anybody says bestmotivationalspeech you ever hear in your life everyone of the rocky series movie has a meaning to it if you really pay attention to it he's encouraging all of us to keep fighting and keep going for our goals and dreams and let nothing stop us everytime I hear this speech can't help but to cry
if this doesn't make a grown man cry then they must be made of stone as it makes you think and appreciate how you miss people who are not around and how little time you have on this earth
Will Hull if this doesn't make a grown man cry. That man's heart is seared and has no soul. No genuine God given emotion left in him. Every time I see this part I tear up. I'm not ashamed to admit it makes me cry every time I watch this scene.
2018 thank God for my mother my boyfriend beat me up he tore up my car, broke my heart stole my gun and I had mama like Rocky had mickey she saved me you keep them in your. Heart
"And nature is smarter than people think. Little by little, we lose our friends, we lose everything. We keep losing and losing till we say, you know, "What the hell am I livin' around here for? I got no reason to go on." But with you, kid, boy, I got a reason to go on. And I'm gonna stay alive, and I will watch you make good. "
Those lines impacted me too. I have zero friends and am very lonely.... I bought a hoola hoop on amazon to keep myself entertained for 6.99$. It has helped a bit.
Fact of life, getting older isn’t the hard part. It’s the part where you start losing friends, family and places that make it hard. When you turn around and realize that you’re all alone
This scene made this movie in my opinion. I though it was a great movie because of the focus on the bond he had with Mickey. Burgess Meredith was an incredibly skilled actor.
"Get up you sonofabitch.... Cause Mickey loves you." Nobody talks much about Burgess Meredith's contribution but he was a damn fine actor and he was a brilliant "Mickey." It was so late in his life when he played this and he had played great roles like George in Of Mice and Men,... it would have been great if they had given him a supporting actor Oscar for the first movie.
This movie inspired me to start going to the gym, so I could build up my strength, to beat up my bullies. I beat them to death. Now I am in jail for 30 years. Thanks Rocky :(
really? hmm rambo inspired me to join the army and then come back and destroy any entire city, including the police department because of some dumb shit cop. now I'm too in jail for 30 years. Sly is just the best isn't he?!
+Joshua Schaeffer well acctually the fifth movie, where this scene if from, is also about Ricky's son getting bullied at school. he learns to box and knock the bullies out. but other than that rocky doesn't fight bullies. but I think this guy was joking anyway.
+sameei21 I hope so. I was to quick with the smart remark anyway. but who knows so many overly sensitive people in the world sounds like he was criticizing the film's as promoting violence or some such thing instead of just being inspiring films with violence in the form of boxing being what the story is built around but not necessarily about and certainly not teaching to kill someone
+Joshua Schaeffer obvcours not. rocky is more of an inspirational underdog story not a movie to encourage people to go fight. most people will see that. however it may encourage people to start to learn to box as a sport and for competitions
Keep fighting son, even when you feel like giving up. I'll always be with you. All you have to do is look into your heart. I'll be there. I've ALWAYS been there. Im proud of you. Ilu
OMG when Burgess Meredith (Mickey) passed away in Rocky 3, I couldn't stop crying, it really crushed me! It felt like I had lost a member of my own family. What an amazing actor and performance! Never has there been a set of movies thats inspired generations!! They're some great movies but few that can compare to Rocky.
I have fond memories of the Rocky series when I first saw them as a child; it wasn't just about boxing but many valuable life lesson as well. Rocky had a good heart and was talented but his success was also contributed by family, friends, and a manager who truly believed in and cared about him and not just see him as a way to make money.
I remember Clubber Lang pushed him out of the way to try and get at Rocky and he went into Cardiac Arrest and died. Looking back on it shouldn't Clubber Lang have been charged with Manslaughter or something?
Even if we don’t have a Mickey in our lives, even if we never will, we still can be a Mickey to other kids, because they all deserve it, and one day they will understand the value of being like this and they will also try to be a Mickey to other kids. That is how strength is passed through generations.
Just lost my dog that was my best friend since I was a kid. Loved watching this Rocky movies have always been there for me whenever I go through a hard time
+3rd Gunman I've watched that scene over and over. Adonis "I'm going to go over there and knock that son of bitch down." Rocky "I know you are kid... and you know why? Cause you're a CREED... and I love you kid." ONIONS
Stallone won best screenplay for the first Rocky film (which he wrote) .. And he deserved it. This, from the 3rd or, more likely,5th of the series ... And his brief speech to his son in the 6th .. Shows that writing dialogue remains one of Stallone's great .. And underappreciated ...strengths and talents.
***** No, I'm wrong. I looked it up on movie quotes and IMDB were it says "and nature smarter than people think". These quotes are actually taken from the legendary coach Cus D'Amato.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who sent their condolences to me. I appreciate you and your prayers more than you could imagine. God bless you all. I am staying in the word of God. My brother believed in Jesus Christ, I personally made sure of this a multitude of times with him. I know he is in heaven without question. It just hurts having him not here with me. He was my best friend. But I have to "Cast all my cares on Him because He cares for me". I repeatedly cast everything on God several times a day. Life is forever changed for me and my family, but with God I'm making it. I know i will see you again my dear brother, and i can't wait until that day. Thank you everyone again for your kind words and prayers, and keep me on prayer.
my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family you ever need to talk Chase I would be more then happy to listen my deepest sympathies and condolences for your loss
Remember this; your brother will always be with you, watching over you and protecting you. Though he seems far away, no one is truly gone if you keep their memory and their love for you in your heart.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Chase. I lost my grandfather when I was in my 20s, and before that my mother when I was 10. This vid reminds me of my grandfather because like Rocky I felt responsible for what happened to him. Your brother is still with you in your thoughts and your heart. Draw on the strength of those memories growin up together when they're needed most, but don't ever take for granted the friends and family you're surrounded by when you need their support the most. You have my sincerest condolences, my friend. Good luck.
There is a reason why most of these Rocky Speeches make everyone cry at the same time you want to take on the world and the biggest reason starts right where you began to feel that knot in your belly while watching; it is your subconscious is eating away at your own mind because you always know when you QUIT, when you Stopped pushing for that goal or finish line! The main focus of these whole sets of movies was not about a man boxing it was about what it takes to be at the top of what you dream of being in life. If you have not reached were you want to be in life keep watching and these speeches and keep pushing forward, when they stop making you cry and just make you smile you will know you have turned the corner and become that fighter for that next level of success!!
+mark hammond Love your comment! That is the spirit of fighter that starts like a underdog and finally becomes a champion ! Life is not about winning or losing. Life is about going the distance !
This dialogue delivery alone is enough to call the guy a legend. It touched my heart like nothing else has. Can we even compare this with acting of today's actors? I don't think so.
Mickey was an INSPIRATION to me he inspired me to keep on fighting through what ever life threw at me he inspired me to Never give up on life I listen to this speech whenever I feel lost and feel down I love this part brings tear to my eyes every time I hear it I would of loved to meet him
"What happened to his other cufflink?" Mick: I dont knooow? He only gave me 1...he gave it to some bum. Lol everyone was a bum to Mick. What a legendary duo..Balboa and Mick!
+Danny Daniel After Sly's son: Sage's death, Rocky Balboa hits me the hardest man. That speech he has with his son outside his restaurant just sounds so genuine.
If you watched this and Mick's speech brought tears to your eyes hit like.

I lost it when he said, "I will watch you make good and when I leave you'll not only know how to fight but you'll be able to take care of yourself outside of the ring."
If I had someome like this in my life, I would have been a lot better off. 💜
After hearing it a few times, just by hearing the music makes me cry
Some of us are born to not have a figure like this in our lives (unfortunately). But I figure that eventually we become our own inspiration (with our own 'father figure' on our shoulder, that *we've* put there), and we are stronger for it. I hope you come out fighting and do well for yourself.
That's alright. We become the figure as time and ages shapes us into it.
❤ i cry every time... god bless you
This how my dad was before he passed he was my boxing trainer 🥊💯❤️🦍
I rarely cry but this was so beautifully acted by Burgess Meredith, that I couldn't hold back the tears. The encouragement and love he had for his student made him into World champion, and for that, he loved his coach back. Such a touching scene. Both actors are brilliant.
Yes sir. Eloquently put.
Stay strong

There's this chair at my grandparent's place, not too fancy, but it is comfy.

That's how Tommy W. Made the most infamous movie The Room

Goosebumps every time! We all need a Mickey in our lifetime...that person who believes in you!
Mickey gave no fucks about him in the beginning though. Even gave his locker to another fighter because he thought Rocky was a bum. Only reason why Mickey cared was once Rocky got that first opportunity to fight the champ, Apollo creed.

Sly is just the best isn't he?!
what an idiot how would rocky inspire u to beat up bullies? did the film have anything to do with that?

This, from the 3rd or, more likely,5th of the series ... And his brief speech to his son in the 6th .. Shows that writing dialogue remains one of Stallone's great .. And underappreciated ...strengths and talents.

cyanidechrist for Yip he played a fantastic penguin in the 60's/70's tv series of Batman🤣
because it was originally spoken from the soul by Cus D Amato, Mike Tysons trainer
Sorry for your loss. This scene also reminds me of my uncle who passed. Prayer heals plus with time. Stay strong.
The Lord be with you...He Abideth faithful, brother...
Thank you too brother. Yout faith inspires others and if its ok with you, may I share this to others?
peter-james Mmbago If you think so, sure.
Gghh
You are as good as dead when you don't know what you are living for.
The scene, The Music, .. The Words!! PRICELESS!!
I lost my brother Sunday. He was my Micky. What am I going to do now? Please pray for me. I hurt so bad.
hang in there bro... your Micky will always look after you... We are much more than our present selves... Wishing you the best
my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family you ever need to talk Chase I would be more then happy to listen my deepest sympathies and condolences for your loss
Remember this; your brother will always be with you, watching over you and protecting you. Though he seems far away, no one is truly gone if you keep their memory and their love for you in your heart.
GET UPPPPP YOU SON OF A BITCH
CAUSE MICKY LOVES YA!
If you have not reached were you want to be in life keep watching and these speeches and keep pushing forward, when they stop making you cry and just make you smile you will know you have turned the corner and become that fighter for that next level of success!!
now you made me cry...
+mark hammond God dang it. Love you too I suppose
+mark hammond Love your comment! That is the spirit of fighter that starts like a underdog and finally becomes a champion ! Life is not about winning or losing. Life is about going the distance !
Watching this scene made me cry. Both actors r so powerful and brilliant.
Thank you.
This dialogue delivery alone is enough to call the guy a legend. It touched my heart like nothing else has. Can we even compare this with acting of today's actors? I don't think so.
Steven Rozakis...
Indeed he was
R.I.P..... 1907 -1997.....
wnypaisan27 idk even know who came up with this first
Mickey was an INSPIRATION to me he inspired me to keep on fighting through what ever life threw at me he inspired me to Never give up on life I listen to this speech whenever I feel lost and feel down I love this part brings tear to my eyes every time I hear it I would of loved to meet him
right in the feels :(
"What happened to his other cufflink?" Mick: I dont knooow? He only gave me 1...he gave it to some bum. Lol everyone was a bum to Mick. What a legendary duo..Balboa and Mick!
Reminds me of my papa ..today’s his birthday ..and this scene kills me every time but that part makes me laugh
Maybe that “some bum” was Spider Rico.
LOL
"You see yourself doing right and you'll do right!"
No matter how many times I watch this I always get teary eyed truly inspirational and heartfelt
Rocky 5 is actually (In my opinion) the saddest rocky film in the saga
+Gustavo Coradini and his son abandons him. Fucking stupid ass son
+Danny Daniel After Sly's son: Sage's death, Rocky Balboa hits me the hardest man. That speech he has with his son outside his restaurant just sounds so genuine.
what sad is that rocky wife die it sad it made me cry knowing that your loveones is gone I bet rocky was like damn my wife just past away
This part only
+Danny Daniel Sly in real life had his son die so it's not too far off from the movie in a way
