The Answer is kinda meta if you think about it. People really enjoyed Persona 3 and wanted more, so in response Atlus created additional gameplay with the message, "don't live in the past, move on with your life."
Yep, since before\with that there was a lot of LN's, manga, even TS anime.

This happened to me and I felt the most pain in my life
Losing an hour or three is hard, but not unsalvagable. I had P3P as a ROM and my Mum moved my file locations and corrupted the save. I was 3 days away from fighting the Nyx Avatar and haven't regained the strength to replay it since.

Spoiler Warning: The Answer
The "Answer" refers to the question of "why did Makoto Yuki die?", and the answer to that question is that, in a way, he didn't. In the final battle, Makoto Yuki's final move, "Great Seal" cost all of his life to cast, but in doing so, Makoto sealed away Nyx. However, what called forth Nyx wasn't necesarilly Strega or mankind itself, but a conduit of mankind's worst impulses and desires to end the world, Erebus (the two headed shadow monster). In wishing for death, mankind calls forth Erebus to retreive Nyx, who will then end the world. Makoto Yuki sacrificed his life to seal away Nyx, so that Erebus can never get to her. And technically, he could live again and return to earth, but only if the need for the seal is no longer there. Makoto Yuki could live if only people stopped wishing for Nyx, and the seal was no longer needed. So the main cast continues on with their life, aiming to live their lives in this manner, and create the world where people no longer need to ask for Death. That is the true way to bring him back.
This is why I half expected Elizabeth to show up during persona 5. That game is all about changing the will of people. I wouldn't have been surprised to see her trying to use the metaverse to make people stop wanting Nyx to come.
I've always loved Persona 3 and now you've given me a reason to love the epilogue as well.
as much as i respect the decision to continue the plot like this I don’t like what it does to the original themes of the game. the theme that once you die your story is over so you should live your life to the fullest while you can. i like the idea that makoto sacrificed himself to save humanity whilst feeling fulfilled that he made lifelong friends instead of the implications that he can come back through social reform. but that’s just my opinion.
edit: i do however appreciate what it does to the party members and how their resolves are strengthened throughout the answer.
@@cpu8636 I disagree with OP's interpretation and think that they live their lives not because he can come back, but because should the desire for Death become even stronger, there is no assurance that the Great Seal would not break.

Just realized it’s even more poetic, they were ready to start April Fools day, Makoto is the fool arcana.
Finally someone that doesn't immediately hate on Yukari for her actions in the Answer, given her character it's perfectly understandable. She honestly doesn't get enough credit for being a very relatable teenage girl even there are qualities to it that are unlikable.
How many of the players had actually experienced the death of their love ones at that age?
The Answer is why Yukari is possibly my favourite Persona character by a long shot.

A lot of those people make it seem like if someone they fucking loved and had recently passed away could just be revived with some magical bullshit door, they wouldn't fight for that shit

@@artofthepossible7329 Exactly, Elizabeth is almost undefeatable by almost anyone, you have to have the ultimate setup and specifically Infinity (Which it’s implied only the P3 protagonist can use) to even stand a chance, besides Makoto (or FeMC)only the other velvet siblings stand a chance against her and arguably she’s the toughest among everyone and the one who uses the ultimate megidolaon the most.

The only times I wiped during these fights was when I underestimated Koro's Energy Drain 💀💀 150 fixed damage!! And I lucked out and had a maxed Loki for the Yuka/Mitsuru fight

I kept hearing why “the answer” is not worth playing and it ruins the characters for some people but I do agree with crystal’s introspective on why the characters feel that way over the loss of “him”.
I think a lot of people approach, not thinking of how the characters feel. Makoto affected all of them drastically and I think that's what a lot of people forget and just rule it out as character assassination
I mean if you don't like how P3 FES plays, I wouldn't recommend it because it's just pure battles and the dungeon system is trash, no compedium sucks.
But given that Reload is going to change that, The Answer might be worth playing for casuals now.
The Answer is the REAL insane level of grinding :')

Fuuka seems to have some issues if one of skills either recovers sp or brutally wounds the entire team
I know isn't an original opinion, but I wish the answer and P5R's third semester were combined into one spinoff game. Minato (Makoto here) could have actually been brought back to life by Maruki, making the stakes of seeing him go again feel far more personal. We'd also get also get Ken's reaction to seeing Shinji come back, and it would have the P4 cast just as invested seeing characters like Saki come back.
P5R's third semester lines up with so many more interesting implications for the rest of the persona universe and it's a shame to see that unexplored, especially when that hypothetical line up is almost the exact story that the answer is trying to tell, but done better.
