What are we thinking about this New / Unreleased Black Seamaster Professional? Imagine if they finally bring this models case thickness down and give us a "Mid-Size" 39-40mm? 🔥 Edit: I missed that there is no “60” on the bezel. Having a 24hr turnover has its drawbacks 😆

I think Omega resizing the watch right now is highly unlikely. Omega seems to be quite cheap at times. Unlike Tudor and Tag Heuer, they are not in the business of trying to give customers what they want. They keep wasting resources on creating these huge watches that would be fantastic if made in a unisex size. I think this is the same watch as the new blue Bond, with a different case back and just in blue. Don’t get me wrong, I love Omega watches, I’ve bought more Omegas than any other brand, but they were from the early 2000’s or vintage. Omega today hasn’t gotten the memo. Tudor and Tag have been looking better and better with the BB58 and 54 and the Glassboxes respectively. To me, Omegas biggest issue is that the majority of their sport watches are not unisex. Rolex makes watches that a wife or girlfriend can wear: Daytona, GMT, Submariner, etc. while Omegas are too big for women with the exception of the Aqua Terra
Same here, I was tempted with the beautiful BG859 but I simply can’t. The reminder and connection with the degenerates and filthy opening ceremony, faeces loaded river Seine for competitors to swim in and then be seriously sick, the transgender boxers, etc… and Filth Director In Chief Macron put me off that one with profound and lasting disgust. 💩🤢🤮
One thing to note, there isn’t a 60 min marker on the top of the rotating bezel. Daniel Craig’s version has the triangle marker differentiating it from the 60th anniversary Bond watch.
So for my daughter’s 18th birthday we went to the mall where there was a swatch boutique. She loves astronomy and I introduced here to the Swatch/Omega moon Swatches collection. Her favorite planet is Saturn and naturally she chose the Saturn watch. She was apprehensive at first not knowing if she would like wearing a watch that wasn’t an Apple Watch. I can tell you this quickly changed as she could not take it off and hasn’t. I’m thinking of buying her the Omega Constellation (green dial as is her favorite color)for when she graduates college next year at 19 years old. Sorry for the long story but I’d like your thoughts. As a father to see his daughter enjoy and appreciate her first watch was a gift in itself. 🙏🏻

Hi Frank. Definitely get her the Constellation. My daughter fell in love with the Aqua Terra several years ago, and I was lucky enough to be able to buy her one for her 21st birthday. She's 30 early next year, but still loves the watch, wears it regularly, and will pass it down to her daughter in years to come. Your daughter will cherish her gift from you forever too.
That’s an awesome idea. It’s something she’ll always have and love.. My family bought an omega for me which I cherish. I’ll buy a watch for my daughter one day too.

39-40mm and monotone would be heaven! I was about to finally pull the trigger on that Moonwatch - maybe I should hold on a few more weeks?? Great vid as always my friend - your content is now an integral eagerly-awaited part of my Saturday afternoons! 🔥🔥🔥
I am a recent 2541.80 (GoldenEye quartz model) owner, and love it. I did replace the clasp and clasp end links with modern Seamaster clasp to allow micro adjust. Perfect watch for all occasions. I have a strong feeling this new Seamaster will feature: - 41mm case diameter - 12-13mm thickness - Completely ditch the outdated 90’s bracelet for the mesh and add micro adjust clasp to the mesh design - closed case back with hypocampus engraving to reduce thickness - No date - possibly a movement that allows for a quick-hour adjust like the 2541.80 and current Seamaster 300 (heritage) - reduce the colors available to limit production costs I think these changes would be welcomed and very smart for Omega. This needs to be a good middle ground between the Tudor Black Bay 41 and the Rolex Submariner. That’s its place! The size change and micro-adjust clasp would be no-brainers.
Definitely 42mm. The question is whether this is a new core model or a special edition. If they do a core model in black and blue (non-bond) I’ll buy both… on the grey market after the price drops 20% 😏
Full agreement on all points, IDG and yes, the "staged exposure" via Daniel Craig's wrist is smart marketing (and Mr Craig knows it's good for his personal brand, too). One small point and forgive me for being grammarnazi: It's champing at the bit, not chomping.
I would love to own this watch! I have the current model and miss the slimnesses of the 2531.80 Bond Seamaster. Great video. Daniel is looking a little old, love his style!
I bought a watch from amzwatch lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
Yes yes yes I’ll take one but your renders should have triangle and lume pip at 12 instead of the 60 like the anniversary watch…always enjoy your video drops on a Saturday morning. Enjoy the weekend all!
Glad the new one will have waves, since I have the non-wave black dial SMPc. I like that it's the only SMP300 of the lineup without waves. It also wears thinner than the current version.
One detail I'm really digging about these new machines, the wave patterning looks fantastic! Also enjoy the clean Black Ceramic machine - been tempted to pick up one many, many times ;)
Likely a Pip not “60” on the bezel, at least by the photos! To answer your question, “yes” this is good! Go to the store because if the yellow jacket but leave with the black one. 😊
I think you gotta check at the time 5:49, you can see that it still has the lollipop seconds hand. Increase magnification starting 2.7 to 7.4 and you can see it clearly. I was planning on pulling the trigger on an old new stock SMP 41 black dial(first ceramic bezel) as I find them to have a good balance between sport and dress watch, but after hearing this I think I might just wait a little more. Awesome video once again and thanks for the info
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the amzwatch, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from amzwatch
Omega definitely needs to notch down the diameter a little more to the sweet spot of 38~40 mm. Thanks for another beautiful video full of appetizing visuals.
Ever since the co-axial movement was first introduced, the SMP has been a lot thicker. For that reason alone, I prefer the 90s/00s SMPs. I really do hope that they work some magic to make it thinner. Thanks for the video!
The current Nekton Edition is also without a date, lacks the glossy dial, has a solid case back and is a bit thinner than the date model, but it is still 42 mm and has a grade 5 titanium bezel which makes it lighter. It has received very little coverage because most of these watch sites cover what everyone else is covering... sort of like ambulance chasers.
I have a decent sized wrist, and owned the current gen SMP300M for about a year before flipping it. It fit my wrist fine but I always had a slight suspicion that the dimensions being at 40 mm or so would tighten up the use of space on the dial a bit better. I think it would be great. After all, for the bigger dive watch there has always been the Planet Ocean, another excellent piece due for a refresh.
Hi. Hope you don’t mind me asking… Which model did you have and what was the final sale price? I’m considering the 60th one myself but if this drops and it’s smaller and thinner, I would probably trade up
I owned a mid size Bond Omega Seamaster with blue wave dial in the 90s and eventually sold it because I thought it was too small in comparison to everyone else at that time. If I had only hung onto that watch. Today it would be a classic and right in line with the trend to smaller timepieces.
40mm - Yes! 90s Bond wave pattern - Yes! Back to basics in terms of color and details - Yes! Matte bezel insert if that's the the case - Hell yes! BUT 19mm lug width - Not so much. Would love the tread style bracelet in 20mm with a taper though. That would make this new iteration my ideal SMP.
Less is more is starting to resonate in Bienne. Next: Planet Ocean goes on a diet and receives some refinement. A “heritage” version that popular inspiration the 42mm LMPO!
It seems like no matter what they throw at us a majority of us enthusiasts are still going to justify the purchase of just about any minute changes we are still going to jump directly on the Omega train because no matter what if you enjoy the ride you're going to go for a spin no matter the length of the ride Thanks as always for sharing another professional view into watches my friend Be well 👍
As always another great video. Yes I do feel this is the direction the 300 pro should be leaning towards. If it is so, it actually puts this watch in the mix for me. As for the releases of new watches, the first time was fun, now it seems very staged. It's not bad though. I haven't purchased a watch lately, so I can not confirm the decline in sales, but when Omega removes the "wort" on the 300, that will be a sign.
To answer your question at the end, yes. Going back or to less like the 90s is the right call for this model at this time. Omega has gone too far "up" in the current model lineup. Pulling it back in size, date, and a new movement, the price would/will be "addition by subtraction". I am still waiting for them to remove the He valve. A white dail without the valve is a wish of mine for the Seamaster.
The helium escape valve is part of the Seamaster Professional’s DNA and likewise for the scalloped bezel. I don’t really understand why people are so obsessed with deleting the very DNA of the Seamaster Professional when are so many other watches from Omega and others to look from 😳🤔🧐🤯
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the MaMaCoo 's watches are the most intriguing.
3 opinions: 1) If not the earned press of pseudo-leaks, what else is a brand ambassador for? How many DeVilles has George Clooney sold via Omega paid press? 2) Returning to monochromatic palettes suggests the Special Edition fever is breaking at Bienne. 3) slimming/sizing down of pieces suggests Omega has recouped enough costs &or learned enough additional engineering to not have to overbuild the latest versions of the coaxial calibers.
I like Omega's occasional forays into playfulness, I actually bought the Speedy Tuesday Ultraman and love it but agree, recently it's been quite jazz handsy with the various mood swings on classic pieces. I do love this Black SMP though I feel maybe the No Time to Die version is a little more for me.
A 40 mm monochrome SM is gonna be a killer watch. Seems aimed right at the BB monochrome. Your theory about market demand resetting is interesting. Are you saying that Omega (and perhaps Tutor) are paying more attention to what the “watch community” wants because the general public isn’t buying as much? I suppose that means us watch nerds are a larger portion of the market. Do you think they are trying to cater to us a bit more?
Looks great. I’m so happy if Omega are cutting down on the eye candy in their watches. If a return to the original size, and simplicity is a new trend it’s a great thing - hoping Rolex will do the same with their Submariner one day.
Omega needs to give the SMP300 the same bracelet treatment as they did the Speedy and Aqua Terra. 42mm is fine, thickness is fine (sports watches aren't dress watches stop forcing them under a cuff, this is like taking an athlete and forcing them to write a 10 page essay), peanut butter cup is fine.
Hum… the 1990 Seamaster were pure elegance because these were slimmer. The NTTD is slimmer and has some of that elegance too, shaving 1mm from it would make it even more elegant. It must not be ultra thin though, just ultra light ☝🏽
If this ends up being 40mm and about 47-48mm lug to lug, I’m in! The mesh bracelet is excellent and if it ends up in two or three different colours, even better!
Omega is not alone in this type of "unofficial releases"....Tudor has done it with Beckam a few times ( pink chrono, a.version of the fxd if I recall, and some other bb's)
Bezel needs to be bi-directional for Countdown and uni-directional for elapsed timing. Grippy for gloved or sweaty hands. 20mm for strap (SM300 is 21mm, hard to find straps)
I really like that rendition. I am an omega fan and to me it looks better than a submariner. Omega is doing what nike does with new sneakers and i guess that works. Rolex is so extremely marketed , everywhere you see endorsements at events. People dont even realize the strength of the marketing , i pick omega.
And Omega's marketing is straight up embarrassing. They come off as more of a fashion brand now. Have you seen Omega's IG page? AWFUL. The Rolex is just marketing excuse always cracks me up. Maybe if Rolex had a bad product the marketing comment would have some truth to it but they don't. Rolex makes a great watch. The Swatch group has ruined Omega and to make matters worse Omega use alot parts made in China. That's right the lame Swatch group has been outsourcing from China for years. Unlike Rolex that's 100p Swiss made.
About damn time! A more sane, thinner case is required. Yes, the yesteryear Seamaster Professionals' slimmer profile were much better proportioned. 42mm is the max bezel diameter. Anything larger is out of proportion and looks clown like on the watch. The golden ratios are abandoned.
I always thought the mid size seamaster was 36mm? I may be the only one but that’s the size I’d love to see return. Unfortunately, I know that will never happen due to the “36mm us too small for a man’s watch” crowd that lead omega down the 42mm road. In an ideal world they would release the new seamaster in both 36mm and 40mm like Rolex with the explorer and then you have everyone covered no matter what size wrist… but I know we don’t live in one :D
I own the current model and have always felt like it would look amazing without the date. If this is real, I'm definitely buying this one. Flatten the original bracelet a bit, give it a taper and I think we'll finally have the perfect watch!
It’s the Omega Unit Watch in a “public” fashion with gloss details instead of flat black… Not a big surprise it came, after all the positive feedback the Unit Watch received early in the year when it was worn in a major public setting. Surprised you didn’t made this connection.
Not sure if I'd consider a 40mm diameter watch as a mid size. I have an Omega Seamaster Reference 2551.80.00 that my wife bought me in 2001. For about 20years it was the only watch I wore, and back then it was called the midsize . It's actually a 36mm diameter and it's a great watch to wear. I have a 7 & 1/2 inch wrist and it looks great. 40mm is about the limit I'd go to in any watch size. Good to see the Seamaster may be coming down in size. Huge watches never make for a pleasant wearing experience unless you have wrists like tree trunks.
I own a Seamaster Pro with a date complication that I purchase in 1996. It's actually smaller and thinner than my Seamaster Aqua Terra 41mm. If this is the new direction of the Seamaster Pro I think it will be very popular.
I'm totally on board if they fix that lollipop second hand, which it appears they have. I was thinking the gloss black aquaterra might need to find its way onto my wrist, but maybe now I should wait and see what the specs on this are.
Yes, I have bought from MaMaCoo more than once. I even bought a new Omega Speedmaster which came with the fancy box and packaging. I am thrilled with all my purchases here. I would purchase from MaMaCoo again for sure.
All brands are reducing they`re sizes and the best example is the Tudor Monochrome that is selling like crazy. If these watch is 40mm even if they add a date it going to revive the 90`s love for the watch and that is exactly what they need, and using Mr Craig the same way they did with the Speedmaster is genius.-
I let my 2019 black dial go earlier this year, I tried to convince myself that the dimensions were ok but I've always worn smaller watches on my 7.5 inch wrist. Enter the Pelagos 39mm...perfection for me, not sure Omega could tempt me back now.
When did 39-40 become mid size? I always thought of mid size as 36. In any event, love the return to the classic wave dial, looks much cleaner and more refined than the engraved ceramic dials. Coupled with the classic minute track instead of the weird semi-segmented one, this dial is an absolute winner. I hope this informs the next generation of mainline Seamasters; smaller case, cleaner dial, and hopefully a refined traditional bracelet.
I like the idea of a 40mm SMP though I'm still not wild about the wave dial, it has always looked a bit plastic and low end to me. I'm also a complete sucker for a lollipop second hand (no pun intended). So I'm on the fence on this one, definitely leaning toward the interested side for sure. I did just pick up my titanium Worldtimer yesterday and I'm in love, even at the larger size it is a beautiful watch.
This just looks like a steel NTTD with possibly the ceramic bezel from the standard SMP300. If the case has gone back to 41mm (or even down to 39/40) the massive conical HEV is still present. As the milanese bracelet is available to buy seperately* it could just be an updated dial (minus the red accents) with two metal bracelet options, a la Oyster/Jubilee on a Rolex. Or maybe Omega are going to bring in the mesh as the default steel option for a 'refreshed' SMP300. * in 19/20/21/22mm sizes
Y’know, I’ve put together countless renders without that He crown and it loses “something” - it ends up looking more and more like a Tag Aquaracer very quickly 🤣 But if they could reduce the growth… with some kind of cream or something? Absolutely hahaha! Much love brother, I hope you have a great weekend!
Smaller and slimmer is step one. Losing the date window is step two. Step three is losing the wart, er helium escape valve. And step four is to lose James Bond.
My guess is it's based on the case of the Danish frogmen's special edition, so a standard SMP300 but in a no date configuration. I think it's highly unlikely that it's a thinner case, but we shall see. I would have preferred a flat black matte dial, but perhaps that's a little too close to the Ti Yacht-Master for their liking. As for the 165.024, I hope you're right, maybe it'll be the big release for next year? Surely it's time!
Fascinating seeing those “secret service” no date variants floating around the internet. If anything, they might give it a solid caseback to reduce it by 0.075mm’s 😉
@@ID-Guy I saw one come up on ebay last summer, I tried to buy it but was driving and missed the final bid, it sold if memory serves for a little over £2,800. Really regret not buying it now.

I am a recent 2541.80 (GoldenEye quartz model) owner, and love it. I did replace the clasp and clasp end links with modern Seamaster clasp to allow micro adjust. Perfect watch for all occasions.
I have a strong feeling this new Seamaster will feature:
- 41mm case diameter
- 12-13mm thickness
- Completely ditch the outdated 90’s bracelet for the mesh and add micro adjust clasp to the mesh design
- closed case back with hypocampus engraving to reduce thickness
- No date
- possibly a movement that allows for a quick-hour adjust like the 2541.80 and current Seamaster 300 (heritage)
- reduce the colors available to limit production costs
I think these changes would be welcomed and very smart for Omega. This needs to be a good middle ground between the Tudor Black Bay 41 and the Rolex Submariner. That’s its place! The size change and micro-adjust clasp would be no-brainers.
39-40mm I would definitely purchase
Definitely 42mm. The question is whether this is a new core model or a special edition. If they do a core model in black and blue (non-bond) I’ll buy both… on the grey market after the price drops 20% 😏
Full agreement on all points, IDG and yes, the "staged exposure" via Daniel Craig's wrist is smart marketing (and Mr Craig knows it's good for his personal brand, too). One small point and forgive me for being grammarnazi: It's champing at the bit, not chomping.
I learned something new from this. Thank you.
Excellent pedantry, but is chomping now acceptable (if not original) or do I have another think coming 😉
@@localheroEd You want me to tow the line with modern versions? 😃
@@markikn3183 Never! The original would be lost so we must (as the vicar says) keep up a stiff end, but we might have to accept the modern way.
It always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of amzwatch's watch 99% of people will never see.
Love your channel with so many stellar watches! For me the MAMACOO’ watch is my favorite. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
I’m happy with my white SMP300, but get the appeal of this smaller version. It seems to be what enthusiasts have been clamoring about for years.
Thank you for making high quality videos!Love MaMaCoo ’s watches
I think he means it's not the same lollipop seconds hand as the Bond 60th which has the circle at the tip of the seconds hand. ✌🏼
This will sell by the bucket load. Very desirable. Great video.
Thank you for making high quality videos!Love MAMACOO ’s watches
Ever since the co-axial movement was first introduced, the SMP has been a lot thicker. For that reason alone, I prefer the 90s/00s SMPs. I really do hope that they work some magic to make it thinner. Thanks for the video!
Not really. The previous eta version had the coaxial escapement and was quite a bit thinner and 41mm
I am very interested, this could be my first Omega.
I love what Omega has been doing with their releases
The current Nekton Edition is also without a date, lacks the glossy dial, has a solid case back and is a bit thinner than the date model, but it is still 42 mm and has a grade 5 titanium bezel which makes it lighter. It has received very little coverage because most of these watch sites cover what everyone else is covering... sort of like ambulance chasers.
39 or 40mm, thinner than 11mm, omega gonna be winner in diver watch market.
Nice take on what this one may be, cheers.
Why do as everyone else ?! 😳🤔🧐
Bingo, everything sounds great except for 19mm lug width. Please be 20mm
42 is the perfect size for a man’s dive watch. 39 and below are too small for a diver on a man’s wrist
The Submariner was 37mm originally, so you’re wrong.
3 opinions:
1) If not the earned press of pseudo-leaks, what else is a brand ambassador for? How many DeVilles has George Clooney sold via Omega paid press?
2) Returning to monochromatic palettes suggests the Special Edition fever is breaking at Bienne.
3) slimming/sizing down of pieces suggests Omega has recouped enough costs &or learned enough additional engineering to not have to overbuild the latest versions of the coaxial calibers.
Great video as always! If this is 40mm I’m in. This would also look dead sexy in the blue of the Brosnan bond watches (and the Casino Royale SMP)…
Omega should hire you immediately.
Yes, great direction in my view. But if I do lay down the monies it would be for a PO in this vein.
I love it, I think I'd be very tempted when this gets released.
Finally. Someone statement what a lot of us think. Want smaller, buy the Aqua Terra!!!!
If this ends up being 40mm and about 47-48mm lug to lug, I’m in! The mesh bracelet is excellent and if it ends up in two or three different colours, even better!
Omega is not alone in this type of "unofficial releases"....Tudor has done it with Beckam a few times ( pink chrono, a.version of the fxd if I recall, and some other bb's)
it doesn't make sense there isn't a 38-39mm SMP when speedy, AQ, PO all have a smaller variant
I can't believe that watch went to the moon!!!
me neither
Once they reduce the size of that ridiculous helium valve, I would buy several! Great video, thanks!
I like that titanium AT it reminds me of some of omegas watches from the 70s
Still wearing my favorite Omega 2254.5 from 1999 as I watch this video!
It’s the Omega Unit Watch in a “public” fashion with gloss details instead of flat black… Not a big surprise it came, after all the positive feedback the Unit Watch received early in the year when it was worn in a major public setting. Surprised you didn’t made this connection.
I would welcome a 40mm Seamaster 300M. My desire is for an Omega to be my next watch, and this potential release could serve as my tipping point.
If that is the finished product. Man it looks great
Absolutely the direction Omega should be going with the Seamaster. This one will sell. Great video!
I don't think they had any problems selling the current model.
Great video - thank you
no date is perfection to me
All brands are reducing they`re sizes and the best example is the Tudor Monochrome that is selling like crazy.
Omega has the co-axial escapement and who knows, this new iteration may yield a new calibre with two barrels and the SpiRate ☝🏽🤗
@@johnnysilverhand1733 I dunno mate were you living under a rock when the 36mm Seamaster Professional was called the mid size by Omega?
yeah 40mm is not mid-size. The SMP 36mm was mid-size.
@@johnnysilverhand1733 lmao so cocky for someone who clearly doesn't know anything about Seamaster history. Off you go
Bronze/Gold version with burgundy bezel Omega Seamaster must be medio 2025 as celebration of " 30 years Omega Seamaster in James Bond movies " !
* in 19/20/21/22mm sizes
Let's go Omega :) Finally, make thinner, smaller watches...and fix the damn bracelet like the new AT!!
I’ll buy one if it doesn’t have Bond references on it.
I get putting watches in movies, but putting movie references on luxury watches is tacky AF.
40mm? Perfect. But must also be slimmer, more like 12mm, for the proportions to work as well as, say, a BB58.
If Omega just have made a version without that helium escape valve with these specs, I would buy one blindly 😅
Thanks brother for the great video.
I'm more interested in a Planet Ocean update
Would be great seeing them tweak the PO line (seems like the natural progression looking at the Aqua Terra receiving a facelift) 🥃
They've recently released 3 in muted colours with matt dials - grey, sand and green.
@@shaunpatrick8345That’s not an update
Hopefully they may lose the date on the PO but I fear it will be worse apart from that 😢
PO proportions dropped to 42mm and 14.x mm thick... Seller
Hell yeah! 🖤🖤🖤
Great review as always , wearing my Peter Blake while watching this , it’s such a cool 😎 watch , 2024 needs a 40mm seamaster , 42 is too big imo ..
