- This good sci-fi story stars William Conrad, but he's not Marshall Dillon nor is he a rotund private eye from TV! He's part of a group of astronauts visiting a planet that seems to be void of life, except for huge herds of rats searching for something to eat (like fresh & tasty astronauts) The visitors finally come across a few humans when they learn that everything was destroyed from nuclear war. . . The rats that are out hunting in herds are IMMUNE to radioactivity! Unfortunately the audio quality is only fair, as it's been drawn out of a very itchy and scratchy record . . . But still, it's the best there is.

I'm not a sci-fi fan but that was awesome. And still Fatty🐈is no where to be seen! 🤣 Thanks again Charlie for looking after all us listeners. 🙏💃🌻🌼🌷18/07/2022 @ 00.30am
Why William Conrad does not have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame bewilders me.
One of my favorite actors! I have all (about 70) of his episodes in one playlist if you like! Just scroll down through my playlists.
Agreed!
OTR is in so many ways better than tv and much better than the latest tube offerings.
Love the radio shows & audiobooks! The mind creates much better "visuals" than movie ever could!! How else could one watch a " movie" with their eyes closed?? Thanks for the magic!
I love how they always trick you. I thought William Conrad was from earth.
Great one!
These shows are wonderful great writing, very good love to listen before bed an fall asleep to them thank you foe posting
+Rory Willis You are most welcome - the quality of the writing, acting and even the music are all top notch! I still listen to these every night, too. Thanks for your comments
Thanks for the better sound quality!
Thanks for keeping OTR alive and its awesome you break it into actors etc, I really wish people would do this for ALL the old shows!!
Thank you very much. Since just about anyone can post these shows, I needed to do something different. I'm glad you're enjoying these, and I hope you'll find your favorite actors . . . and thanks for commenting! - Charlie
Oooo this sounds interesting. Rats... Im scared already. Fatty, where are you🐈!! 🤣💃

👍
I can't believe u don't have more subscribers! What is WRONG with u people?? I know there are more of u out there listening to these awesome shows so shame on u if u listen and don't subscribe! (PS... I heard a rumour that people who listen and DON'T subscribe, have a dramatically higher risk of developing uncontrollable flatulence and diverticulitis)... I'm not sure what diverticulitis IS but I bet it's not worth the risk.
It's true, 75% of my views come from non- subscribers . . . But that's okay, I'm not going to fret about it. Besides, my channel is finally being discovered by more & more every day - 300k views thru 2018 - Fortunately, I can (enjoy) the ability to "control" my flatulence. Sometimes wonderfully abundant! :-D
I just found your comments yesterday!
@Rick 1776-1970 Absolutely. No doubt. I've known that for a long time. :-)
Great user name, Violet Femme.
and for this comment i hit subscribe. just found this channel searching for radio suspense, scifi, thriller stuff. I am enjoying it so far.
Still one of the more memorable episodes, though it's scientifically nonsense.
When this was broadcast 70 years ago, I'm sure it seemed that it was plausible
@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered Indeed, I'm not finding fault, just commenting that this isn't one of the ideas that's aged super well. It's still quite effectively presented though.
