Best nascar race I have seen in years. I’m really proud of nascar not red flagging the race and letting it be a wash out. Most series would not race in that much rain. I know F1 wouldn’t have run and I don’t think Indycar would have either. I’m amazed the cars handled the rain so well. I’m sure it helps that they are so heavy
UK viewer. Massive F1 fan. Enjoy Nascar. Props to the drivers. That was some incredibly difficult conditions. Don't think even F1 would run in that wet towards the end. Heavy cars, little traction, near 0 visibility. Huge respect. Enjoyed the race massively.
How it should be. Fantastic race and great entertainment.Well done to all That includes the drivers, crews and safety teams and to NASCAR for allowing it to run.
As a British race fan, well used to wet racing, I have to say I'm impressed. Good racing under difficult circumstances, with the only real problems being the drainage at the bottom of the oval, and the freshness of the infield surface. Neither of which would've been shown up as issues had the rain not been quite so apocalyptic in its intensity. About the only thing I'd like to see changed is the use of the yellow to let the field all get wets at the same time. Let the drivers make the decision. Just tweak the rules for road courses/rovals so that rain tires can be used at the teams discretion during racing...
Personally I would love to see NASCAR and Goodyear develop a rain tire to be able to run at all tracks on schedule in case of rain. Personally I would love to see less pj1 and more rain racing or at least develop a tire that will allow racing in wet/damp track conditions when it’s not raining so it isn’t as pressed on getting tracks dry enough in a time period to race to beat darkness
@@tylergraham3851 Racing on the longer ovals they wouldn't be able to put the throttle down on the straights without hydroplaning. Rain races on short tracks would work great, but Daytona/Talladega/Michigan would be dangerous as hell.
Actually they have had a bunch. Montreal in 08 and 09, road america 2013 and 14, mid Ohio 2016, watkins glen 2018, road america 2020, daytona road course 2020, and this race
@@HendrickChase9 raining from the start I think thats correct. I really liked the glen race when they got a huge down pour and nascar just put the yellow out just long enough for pit road to open to change to rain tires like a normal stop would be then back to green. Then teams had to figure out when to change back to slicks
This may have been one of the best race’s I have ever seen

Yeah, I think imsa and Nascar are the only series that race in pouring rain like this
I watched this race on the NASCAR app during my cousin's wedding reception lol

This was the first race I ever went to that there was a delay now being at the track is so much more different than on tv
Awesome race, thanks Nascar for sticking it out 👍🏁
This will go down as one of the "legendary moments"
Unfortunately knew who the winner was before watching this on RUclips but I heard it was a must-watch and it did not disappoint.
Thank you NASCAR for publishing these races during the pandemic :}
Finally, after decades we've been waiting for. Thank you, Nascar! Now Nascar is hundred times fun to watch!
I know this is fake because this stupid race sucked.

Best. Race. Ever!
They need to add the Truck Series at this track layout
Coronavirus sent me here...just watching a old race and what a great race it was.
With 6 road courses in 2021, someone needs to hire AJ for a Cup team again.
Yeah. Gives Chase Elliott a challenge lmao
Almendinger to the 88???
@Damar Fadlan yeah, but the dinger (aj almendinger)

NASCAR car should have mini headlights for races like this. Like a late day road course. Idk if it’s even work.
that would work
Fantastic race!
Thank you NASCAR!
Instant classic race!
I finally get to see the end of this race.

Some of the best racing this year, and it's been a good year for racing.
Somehow I thought Noah would have been more at home in the rain.
Best race this year in all NASCAR!!!!!
I’d be game for nascar running a small oval on rain tires. That would be crazy
I know, Martinsville, Gateway, Richmond, Phoenix, and I mean bristol is possible not with dirt though.

Well guess what, your dream is almost coming true! They were testing some rain tires for small tracks or flat ones like new hampshire

RCR should have a third car again just for the cup road courses races and put Kaz Grala in it
Road course battle in the rain
Death wish paint scheme on the dinger looks good
this race will be one i will never forget, the ROVAL in the wet has to be one of the most unique races the xfinity series has had in my book
What a race, well done to all in them conditions but Alex labbe top 5 in every stage.
I hope they all use RainX, especially since half the cars wiper don't work.
What happens when you get a driver in the rain?
A Wetver!
out of curiosity, what was the name/year of the walkins glen race showed earlier?
This is so fun to watch lmao
whos here in 2021?
Congratulations to aj
AJ is my favorite part-Time driver. I got to meet him during the Rolex 24 at Daytona week and he was so nice and funny.
How about Ryan Sieg making it into the round of 8!!!!!!!
Is this the first proper rain race in NASCAR's history..??

How about Jesse Iwuji getting a tv job because of his skin color. Certainly his "successful" Nascar career had nothing to do with it.
