Abbey, this video was for me! I like my client, but I don't enjoy the work I'm doing for him. He respects my boundaries, but I have to start everyday at the same time, as if I had to puch the clock. I'm doing work way beyond my capabilities at a low rate. The problem is that he's my only client for now and I need the money until I find new ones. I've decided to target one specific niche and it takes longer to attract new clients. So, it feels like I'm trapped just like I felt when I had a corporate job and a boss... What to do? Thank you!
Great question! It's important to establish your boundaries and expectations in your contract! That can include your working hours and the hours you're available to be reached. Don't forget WHY you wanted to become your own boss! :) We just did a great live answering questions about dealing with difficult clients! It's on my channel now!
@@thevirtualsavvy Thank you very much for your answer! You are absolutely right! Everything is on the contract, but some clients try to be smart and take a little advantage... Thanks again and I'll keep watching your videos and following your great tips!
Congrats on taking the leap from employee to independent! I'm in the same situation. I do have clients that get my nerves, but on the other end I'm grateful, cuz I'm happy to have business. Im grateful not to be working for "the man"They have gotten referrals. harsh reality you maybe stuck with him til you get settled . You never know he could maybe send a referral one day, that may make your business totally pop off.Once you do settled set boundaries, if you want to get rid of him make it hard to make a appointment
