      @SuperDutyService these people crack me up I have worked on countless stock 6.0s as well as ones that are tuned to the moon with supporting mods some are studded and some are not. They all have there issues! I usually blame problems on lack of maintenance or mechanics that do not understand the 6.0

    • @SuperDutyService
      @SuperDutyService  5 месяцев назад

      That is a drag,,, generally it needs the vertical section of the exhaust shortened. which is a drag because it it constantly trying to fall back down. So welding it is best!!!

    What kind of paints were you using? I would think some may be hi temp paints.

    • @SuperDutyService
      @SuperDutyService  5 месяцев назад +1

      The only special paint we use is on the exhaust parts. It is supposed to be 2000 degree stuff. Regular style auto body paint has been working on all the other stuff for a long time. We paint the oil pan,,, like it's a fender!!! lol

  • @rolyisern4550

    what paint do you use to paint the block? I have been looking for a gray paint like that

    • @SuperDutyService
      @SuperDutyService  5 месяцев назад

      I have found that the block really doesn't get exposed to abnormal heat. So I do not stick solely to engine rated paint. Maybe someday I will find that perfect paint to use,,, but for now,, I kinda just use whatever. I think it is great when the owner suggests something specific to use tho. One of these days someone will suggest something and I will like it and stick with it. We have been liking the 2x paint tho. Just of the shelf stuff.

    • @SuperDutyService
      @SuperDutyService  4 месяца назад

      l have a complex about only using Ford remans. I have not had 100% success with ANYTHING tho!!! lol I have never had a great experience with aftermarket sets. I have with Ford's. So if someone already has them,,, fine,,, but I have no interest in warranting anything about them. We are starting to have the aftermarket ones set on our table tho!!! Testing is constantly happening lately!!!

  • @Hockershp

    Why do you not use exhaust manifold gaskets? Do the manifolds seal better machined surface to machined surface? Do you use any sealant or just metal to metal?
    Thanks

    • @SuperDutyService
      @SuperDutyService  6 месяцев назад

      We are pushing the limits I guess. The gaskets cost money,,, and the surfaces arguably need corrected anyways. I have surfaced many and used gaskets,,, but some customers were willing to try no gaskets so I obliged!!! lol No failures yet,,, Ford sent them out of the factory without gaskets btw!!! I believe surfacing manifolds that are seasoned,,, only need it once for the life of them.

      @@SuperDutyService I have a question I was hoping you could answer. I have my 6.0 apart and out of my truck. Reason was initially because of head gaskets pressurizing the cooling system. So, I’m doing gaskets and studs but I also had a small oil leak so I decided to do a complete reseal. I plan on replacing my pushrods with the shorter 6.4 pushrods. My question is: should I also put new lifters in it just because? I had no valvetrain issues or noise and they look really good as well as the cam. Do the factory lifters always fail at some point? I don’t want to spend money on stuff that’s not really needed but I also don’t want to do this again if these lifters are living on borrowed time. Thanks

    • @rayhendricks7379
      @rayhendricks7379 27 дней назад

      @Hockershp you have it tore dowm that far might as well change the lifters as when they fail it causes catastrophic issues

    Do y’all line bore the crankshaft holes?

    • @SuperDutyService
      @SuperDutyService  6 месяцев назад +1

      We do not. I know every engine rebuilder in the world with a line hone/bore, would say that every engine needs it. We measure the bores for out of round. I have yet to send off a block for line boring/honing. Our blocks are VERY stout as far as the mains go. Very few engines have a bedplate design. This design greatly increases the strength of the block to keep the bores in line. In order to line bore the mains we would need to surface the bedplate to allow new bores to be cut true. We have been tossing blocks that have any signs of bearing issues btw. As of now,, we do not need to rehab the damaged blocks. Maybe someday we will need to,, but not today!!

    • @SuperDutyService

      This job is very doable with a 25k budget. Sometimes if parts aren’t ALL replaced,, it can drop under 20k!!! Cab off jobs under 10k are rare also. Normal to have a lifter job run 11k. These prices are assuming you need our intake and y pipe. I am testing a lower budget job right now. I’d love to be able to do a lifter/reseal job,,, for a solid 10k including our parts. No injectors,, no turbo,, no pistons or bearings!!! Almost like a “blinders on” job!!! It will burn fuel just like it did but fresh lifters and studs and not leaking oil!!! These trucks are much better than the rap they get imo!!!!

Oil cooler and doin head gaskets gunna look over everything else while we that deep. Prob stand pipes n plugs clean turbo. U suggest anything else? While my guy has truvk.
