We are a couple from Holland (senior) and want to live the rest of our lives in Luxembourg, but i hear renting a house is pretty expensive, could you tell us something about that? Thank you.
J B It is indeed pretty expensive. It depends where do you want to live as well and how big you want your house to be. Once you get out of the main city and check the villages or the other towns to the North, then the prices become more bearable. But in the Lux city itself, the prices for renting and buying are excruciatingly high. The renting of a standard sized house in Lux city and the region is around €2,500-3000 per month.
my ex and I used to go to Luxemburg on holiday, mostly in a small village about an hours drive from the capital. I loved it, people are so friendly, they stop if you want to cross the street, food is good, climate is good, the best of France, belgium and Germany in one tiny country. Expensive housing tho!
Well, that was a big surprise, Simon - I can't believe I had no idea the city would be like this - was quite expecting glass hirises and wall-to-wall glitzy shops & banks! Cheers.
@@MemorySeekers Yes, I can imagine that from seeing your video - I can't explain why I have such a wrong perception of the town, very strange - I guess people don't go there much, but I'd certainly recommend it based on your tour, thanks.
We had a great time and have done the same trip twice. From UK it is an easy plane hop and prices are cheap so makes for a lovely quick weekend getaway. Never tire of the scenery in Luxembourg. Hope you visit some day and enjoy it too. 😊
Perfect Video! Beautiful & you provide a lot of important informations. Showing the map and the sight helps so much to organise our days in Lux City. Thank you from Madrid :)
Yes, Europe is definitely the best place to be, both, to live (countries like Denmark, or Switzerland), and go on a holiday (here, you've got a wide variety, from costly destinations, like Denmark, or Ireland, to great holiday destinations if you're on a budget, like Croatia, or Montenegro)!!
Your charming video inspired my husband and myself to spend a lovely week-end in Luxembourg City. Thank you so much for all the useful information. Please keep up the great work!:-)
Ah so pleased that you had a wonderful there based on our video. Lovely to hear and what we try to achieve, to get others out and about! Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes we made this video before it happened. I put a note in the first comment a while about it. Thanks for sharing again. So cool that the transport is free now.
Loved your video. If I was going to stay for a few days, would you suggest staying in the area of the main square or in the Grund area please? Cheers from Australia
We always stay in the Grund, just live the roads and buildings around that area. Lovely for a quiet early morning walk. Still easy to get to the square. This is where we staying, I think prices have risen a bit since we went but super spot in the heart of the Grund. www.pipistrelle.lu/ Have fun!
@@MemorySeekers Sounds wonderful, exactly what I love too and great for photo opps! Terrific and I really appreciate your accomodation suggestion thank you! May I ask what time of year you were there please? Cheers, Marg

Yes it now, we updated the description a long while back to say this.
And it's "Bock" and not "Book" Casemates. Sorry.
