Thanks for this nice video about my beloved country. The reason why you couldn't hear any luxembourgish in Luxembourg-City is: 1. There are not a lot of us left. Nearly half the population of Luxembourg are foreigners, mainly french speaking, plus during the week roughly 200000 people cross our borders on a daily basis for work, which makes us a minority in our own land during office hours. 2. All Luxembourgers speak at least 3 different languages, so when we are in Luxembourg-City we speak french because most of the people working in shops and cafes or bars are natural french speakers. 3. Due to the high living costs in the city, most Luxembourgers live outside the city in those wonderful small Towns and villages. I hope you enjoyed your stay.
Thanks for that info, that makes perfect sense. I'm always so envious of places that have such natural multi-lingualism - it's so amazing to hear as you go through a city. I really would love to come back again and get outside of the city. I didn't have time but it looked so nice in the smaller towns.
My son and his family live here for his job. I plan on visiting for Christmas. Fingers crossed the pandemic doesn't stop me. I was supposed to go this past summer but they were not letting US citizens in until fall. I am so ready to see these wonderful place.
really great video about Luxembourg city, i am from the north of Luxembourg and i really enjoyed watching this very complete view of a tourist visiting our capital with a bunch of great information, thank you
I was lucky enough to pass by golden lady and grand villa in Luxembourg 🇱🇺 couple weeks ago. I have seen many churches in Europe so I kind of church out.
Thanks for showing this. I've always wanted to go to Luxembourg but my parents dragged me off to Australia when I was a child and I've never had the chance to return to Europe. I'm too old now so this was a pleasure to see.
There iis no update, now you can take the tram to the tourist area, even for free(there is no charge on the tram train or bus in Luxenburg; and most people speak now Lëtzeburgisch

Very picturesque & quaint.
The casemate have been casernes for soldiers defending the city. The big windows in the rock have been openings for canons to shoot the enemy.
Very nice, thank you 😊
