    Thank u so much on showing how to do the whip stitch. It takes a little more time to do it but its worth it. And it more secure when u do it by hand. Stay positive..

    @Bananaslushies I prefer the continuous join method. Whip stitch is the most common way to join & the simplest for beginners.

    I guess I'm the only one but I can't seem to make granny squares over and over and then do the joining over and over. I guess I like to change it off a little so what I do is, I start by making two grannies and in the last row of the second granny I make the double stitches and when I pull up the last loop, I catch the stitch of the edge of the first granny and then complete the double crochet. I do that along one edge. When I make the third granny, I do the same and join it to the bottom of the first or second granny. When I make the fourth granny, I join it to the first or second granny that I didn't do in the previous join. Now I have a square of four grannies all joined together. I find this is easiest for me, breaks the bordom of having to do a lot of joining at the end and I can see how my project is going to look joined together which determines the colors for each of the new grannies. When I have made my afghan as big as I want, then I'm done!! No joining of all the little grannies AND, now I can focus on the border that will go all the way around. Bethintx1, maybe you'd like to make a video of this method, just for fun! Thanx for all your videos. I'm an experienced crocheter and I look for new stitches. Have a great day!!

    @klikes99 I turn the needle around and draw the end under the stitches. Leaving corners un-stitched...hmmm... You could draw the yarn through the corner stitch of one of the squares to carry it over to the next one.

    Great video. I have so much trouble whip stitching in the corners. To do your method it still leaves a hole in the corner. I see some people will do a diagonal cross, to close in the corner. I'm just not sure how to do that without it looking bulky.

    make as many rounds as you please. Figure out how big you want your final blanket. Make your squares the size to make the finished joined squares a little smaller than that measurement. Then once they are joined, add a border to make it the size you want.

    Takes slightly more time than the crochet slip stitch, but it is pretty. This method easily presents a more even tension also.✿Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ♥✿●♥

    Which method of joining the squares together do you prefer or is easiest for beginners? I have always done the whip stick as that is what I was taught but am curious about the others. Thanks :)

    How do you tie off at the end of your projects rows when whipstitching? I have an oreo project that I'm working on and it says to leave the corners untouched. There seems to be a huge gap in the photo and I can't tell how they got from one square to the next. This is why I thought I might whipstitch just each square (one side) and finish off each time. Sounds like a pain to me but I have the squares done and I have to get it put together. LOL Thanks much

    Your thumb is peeling. I have had this for over 20 years and was recently diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis. You should go get an ANA test.

    • @Bethintx1
      @Bethintx1  8 лет назад +1

      thanks. I have had it checked out several times by dermatologists and other doctors. they didn't seem concerned. I also have been tested for RA. The tests came out negative even though there was obvious joint swelling.

      ANA does not have to be elevated. See a rheumatologist, this is good link for PA

      I had a dozen doctors for over 20 years look at it and shrug- Nail pitting overlooked. It was my OBGYN that finally referred me.

      Thanks for the tutorial! The pattern I am working on now didn’t explain how to do this. I felt like the corners needed reinforcement.
