I got a cardboard box for about $2.50
Currently, in early 2024, a new option is coming out with the Haute42 seal with Leverless that is quite good for its price (At a discount it even gets more irresistible)
Having in its products: Mini Hitbox, regular size Hitbox, hitbox with aluminum casings and a mini Mixbox the size of a current cell phone
All these controls mount the GP2040 CE firmware and they even usually have an external USB port to be able to use one of their controls on PS5 or Xbox (One or Series)
I have the G12 (its 2nd cheapest model, below the Haute Mini) and I really love the control and its quality of materials is very good, I recommend it if you are looking for a cheap Hitbox
Got a Mixbox 2 years ago as a gift, it's been in use almost every single day since then. Cannot get over how much I love it!

I never and still dont understand why are these so much more expensive than keyboards
More than anything, it is because of the quality of the hardware they use, both in buttons and the fighting board to make them work (Especially, if you are going to use it on consoles like PS4)
Also, there could or are keyboards that could cost the same as a Hitbox and would only work on PC
the main reason why fight sticks get so expensive, besides capitalism ofc, is due to the boards that are inside them which allow them to be compatible with more than just pc. boards with compatibility with PS5 in particular are the most expensive.
Yea both these replies are talking out their asses. You can buy a cheaper leverless for less then 100 bucks and get a ps5 compatibility dongle for 30

I just bought a cheap hitbox-like controller off Alliexpress. Then swapped the insides with the Brook Fusion fightboard. So I could play it on PS5.

I had a hitbox and needed something for ps5 for evo so I bought a snack box xl which is like the best one. I actually just got the Victrix today and it’s awsome but not worth the price unless you just like the way it looks(it’s beautiful). The hitbox feels outdated and is missing buttons like l3 and r3 they did put out a firmware update to kind of fix that but at the current price it would make more sense to buy a snackbox xl.I hope this helps someone.
Which sucks, because I want a leverless stick I can use from the couch/bed on my lap (I'm a bigger guy). I don't know about the XL, but I've got a normal micro, and that sucker is an "on the desk" controller only because of how fun sized it is. I love it, but the uncomfortable size made me go back to my Qanba Drone when I'm not in sweaty try hard mode and just wanna chill in training mode or casuals...which is more likely currently 🤣

@@FGCCentral it feels exactly like hitbox. They have sanwa buttons, what more would I want. I recently updated the firmware for new Socd rules. Other than the fact that the text in the doc was in chinese, it was not that difficult (they had screenshots), if you have ever opened an electronic device.

Fr I just got the purple one. I have a snack box xl and an Victrix. I won’t need anything else ever again.
As a computer need with nothing better to day the mix box actually had arrow keys, in wasd the w is slightly off at to the left, also the mix box is my favorite
I got a haute 45 t16 mine was 100 but in some regions I think they’re 75 it’s super nice I love it
I wish the movement buttons weren't so close to the fight buttons
I like the jump button close to kicks since it makes flash kick easier to input haha
close proximity is part of the benefit tbh
You can modify your own and make the buttons bigger and spread them out a bit more. That's what I did cause I have big hands

I only went for the razor kitsune becasue of delivery issues and stock uncertainty for Hitbox and junkfood

I got one of those mayflash sticks/boards. I just put in sanwa stick and buttons and it was like 100 all together if i remember correct. I made some custom tekken graphics for it haha
I’d say get a fight box it’s only 130 and then you could by an adapter to use it on ps5

Although there is currently the Flatbox, which is still cheaper than a SnackBox Micro, for example, the SFG Bridget (Based on the Flatbox) It costs a little more than 100 dollars and you can customize everything related to the control (Except the board, since it would work with GP2040CE)

Got a RTU-A4 coming in soon. $110 after tax and shipping.
RTU is the actual hit box. Very small/mini sized. The A4 is a frame to make it bigger and fit on your lap easier

made my self a small hitbox, it's like 250x130x2.1mm, cost me 50 bucks, and i learned how to solder, so that was nice.
one thing that i didn't consider that i have titan sized hands so i had to use a palm rest if im playing on a desk, maybe i'll make it longer next time i build another one

not really. The snackbox works for the xbox series console and the PS5 which makes it being only 10 dollars more expensive than the hitbox a bargain as the hitbox only works for the PS3, PS4, PC, and switch. You can technically play with it on the PS5 with PS4 games, but you would have to get a new board for it to work on the next generation games.
What’s wrong with the classic joystick. Why all the buttons?
Or you can get an Odin v2 for $60 and you can upgrade you arcade stick to a mixbox.

Mixbox has a left hand side controller. The wasd keys are on the left hand side :)
@@FGCCentral my play setup is a bit weire. I play on gaming keyboard so i move my character with my right hand using arrows while my left hand handle the attack buttons (Q,W, E for punches and A,S,D for kicks).

pretty misleading ngl, snackbox has several versions and i only paid 120 for my micro.
Question on buffering supers. How is it even possible to super buffer after a normal. For example, Cammy’s LK into SA1. The time to confirm into it is incredibly small. I see people do it all the time like it’s no problem. I’m good at fast inputs but that’s ridiculous.
You want to buffer the motion before hitting the button. Thing is you are canceling into super not linking it so you can just keep doing Quarter circles forward and mash kick as it connects. If it wiffs nothing comes out.
In 6 there is a training mode option that makes the characters turn red or blue when they can cancel. Look at that to see the window.
Save the hassle get haute42 and if you need to play on ps5 get adapter

@@jordanphan2945 I was interested in snack box but I play on Xbox, I ended getting a stick instead, which I am happy with and enjoy it very much, but I’ll definitely look into using a hitbox/snack box at some point

Nah you’re crazy for that. Probably the best on the market for the size alone, plus it works with all platforms. Perfect for travel and tournaments.
@@evilded2 it does look kinda cheap and it is small (which like you said is good for travelling), but I usually see people using books or something to keep it steady.
It's literally priced higher than beefier sticks, and yeah it shouldn't be the case imo.

The hitbox aka the way Dinosaurs are keeping uo with the youngin's. Dont get me wrong, I love my man Daigo but he'd be out of the game if he didn't use a keyboard for playing. I am not against hitboxes, Im saying theyre for geriatric patients mostly. No i dont really believe this.
This sounds suspiciously like paid partnerships to me. Because there ARE other options that are cheaper that work just fine like FightBox/RetroArcadeCrafts. Hell just to test out the leverless layout and to see if I would like it, I was able to get a PC-only leverless controller for as little as $65. Now you definitely get what you pay for but it works, nonetheless. FightBox controllers are made from the same people and they also have snackbox-sized controllers as well. You do not HAVE to spend over $200....unless you want something that's compatible with PS5/XBSX out the box.
I actually included the fightbox in my video on the other platform. It's so hard to fit all the details in 1min here on youtube shorts. How i wish i get paid partnerships haha!

I got one off ali express for 130 and it has extra face buttons for r3 l3 and select on the front so i can map di, dr, and grab. These controllers are all a rip off.
