- "If anybody is ever going to play my mum in a movie, I want it to be Kate Winslet...spool forward 25 years and suddenly we find she's wanting to be Lee Miller"- Antony Penrose, Lee Miller's son.
We explore the extraordinary life of female war photographer Lee Miller and the making of 'Lee' in the words of Kate Winslet (Actor/ Producer), Lee's son Antony Penrose and Granddaughter Ami Bouhassane.
For the first time, Antony and Ami discuss Lee Miller's famous 'Bathtub' image and her motives behind taking it.
Interviews with Antony and Ami are shot at the late Lee Miller's Sussex home, Farleys Farm, which has been preserved and is open to the public as an artist's house and gallery.
With thanks special thanks to Lee's Family for bravely sharing Lee's story with us, Farleys House & Gallery and The Lee Miller Archives.
Sensitive content, viewer digression advised.
🎬 Lee is a Sky Original Film, which is out now in UK cinemas.

Scherman; Alexander Skarsgård playing English Surrealist painter, photographer, poet and biographer Roland Penrose; Marion Cotillard playing Solange D’Ayen, the fashion director of French Vogue and close friend of Miller’s; Josh O’Connor playing Tony, a young journalist and Andrea Riseborough playing British Vogue Editor Audrey Withers.
LEE is the directorial debut from acclaimed cinematographer Ellen Kuras.
Produced by Kate Solomon and Kate Winslet, with Troy Lum, Andrew Mason, Marie Savare and Lauren Hantz.

Top Film, amazing work from KW. Dont miss this ❤
I've been fascinated with this woman for forty years....I'm nervous about seeing the film and I cannot believe it took so long!
And I had never heard of Lee. I trust Winslet will properly introduce me to a fascinating historical figure.
Second Oscar wayyyy overdue
She will get it for Lee. She was amazing!
A beautiful and meaningful piece of work. Spotlighting the legacy of such a passionate and tenacious photographer.
Lee was an extraordinary woman and she deserves the spotlight!
@@SkyCinema Could not agree more. Lee's life story was part of my research when studying for my BA. I had known of the 'Bath Tub' shot for many years. Bring on the Oscar's
I love this already.
Thank you for this. Seeing Lee a 5th time on Sept. 23 and after looking at so many promos/interviews, excited to notice all the details I missed on the first 4 viewings! :D
The devil is in the details! So glad this gave you more of an insight into Lee's story ✨
This looks like a phenomenal film!! 👌
Amazing!
2nd Oscar my Kate 💖💖💝💝💝
Can’t wait to see this!!!!!
Don't miss it - I was very impressed with the way the film's narrative had been woven together and Ms Winslet gives a brilliant portrayal of Lee Miller. Newlyn Filmhouse was graced by the presence of Kate Winslet and Antony Penrose when the film premiered Friday 13th Sept. Mark Kermode hosted a Q&A session with Kate and Antony between the screenings.
How lucky you are!!!! That must’ve been extraordinary. I will certainly see it this weekend ❤
Can't wait to watch. I don't know if it gonna release in India or do I have to wait for any OTT release. Kate should definitely be up for next year best actress race. ❤
amazing
Looking forward to this, and eager to see Andy Samberg do some serious avting
💯❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Lee miller wrote a diary. And her journal entries are in the public domain
Thank you for letting us know. Will definitely have a look at them.
Can't wait
Wow first time I have heard of this amazing woman I'm 69 and cannot wait to see it. ...❤❤❤💙💙💙💙💙
Her story is long overdue to be told ❤
Lee Miller is my favorite photographer and historical figure. I loved this short documentary so much. I am beyond happy that Antony and Ami helped in making this movie and approve of it so much. Hearing Antony choke up about hearing the theme music for Lee was both beautiful and sad. Seeing all the effort and research Kate Winslet put into making this movie makes me very happy and excited to see Lee.
This film means so much to so many people, it has been made with love ❤ So glad you loved this piece!
Thank you for this little documentary.... We saw the film 2 days ago in Lewes. As a life long photographer, a keen student of WW2 history and an admirer of Kate Winslet this wonderful and moving film has a special resonance for me. I can't praise it enough!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Kate.
I absolutely adore Kate Winslet! She's such a beautiful woman & just a phenomenal actress. ♥
This is how good movies become great. No stone left unturned to ensure not just quality but empathy and authenticity.
Yes, all persons should see this movie.. especially those who say it never happened.
As he said, let's not repeat it 2024.
Absolutely intriguing. Lee might be one of those angels we all hear about with a warning at the most perfect time. Thank you so much for sharing this outstanding human being being superhuman. So well done.
Every time that I've come across Lee Miller in my life, I'm always deeply impressed. This is a movie that I can't wait to see.
No actor could do this story justice like Kate the Great .
I'm an American living in Japan. I hope to see this movie. (Many movies don't make it to Japan). My wife and I love historical movies and this sounds / looks like a great one. I only knew about this because Sandburg was on Seth Meyer's show promoting it.
Will have to see this film. A friend’s mother was a nurse in Patton’s 3rd. Age 24, she was part of the team that liberated Buchenwald. What she saw, she could never unsee. She was one of the gentlest, most compassionate people I’ve ever known.
Winslet is amazing!
What a moving film Lee is. Modern made films about the Second World War seem so false to me (the directors could simply ask anyone above the age of 60 to preview for authenticity) but Lee is believable with so much research and attention to detail. Admirable. Not only to highlight Lee Miller but to remind modern audiences of the horrors of Fascism and the holocaust. But one thing puzzles me in the script: the way the reporter becomes the son. It didn’t seem to segue well. I guess intentional but left me perplexed as to why the director revealed it that way: sort of short staccato scenes out of the blue that didn’t make sense. Please explain.
I had a photography class in college. We studied lots of famous photographers. And Lee Miller was never mentioned. Why does it take a movie to learn about these important people?? These ever so strong and brave women?? LEE is brilliant!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️
Finally Lee Miller gets the credit she deserves.
Kate, an Eileen Grey film please, next?
Yep, Lee was it. Too bad though that the report card on what we've learned since is so very bad. Wars all over the place. Are we indeed so tragically floored to learn nothing?
more than 80 years and still such brilliant stories still coming out of that time..... can't wait to see this one
Actors need to stop talking. Just read the lines. thank you
Am so wanting to see this movie. Kate Winslet is brilliant and this true story will be fascinating.
THIS IS A MUST SEE ! ----------------------MJL, 77 Y/O
So grateful Lee and her witness will be seen.
Please don’t forget Martha gellhorn too!
Is this "The True Story" of Lee Miller (the title of the video) or a "Making of" video of how the movie was made?
Rewatch the video and you will know.
@@Fancy-p7z I watched it. I was being facetious. It's a "making of" video.
@@emmgeevideo okay, I thought you were confused
