I found that a seam roll was super helpful with pressing open those bulky joints. They were stubborn!! Thanks for another great embroidery series!

I’m wondering if you could quilt the cross-hatching part in the hoop using the software to add the lines. I realize it’s multiple hooping, but maybe with pinpoint placement, you would line it up perfectly. I might have missed it, but if you used the jumbo hoop, would the stitching fit? I always learn something new with your videos.

This class series is to teach how to multiple hoop and use multiple features of sewing an embroidery. Yes, one could have made the entire center motif (including cross hatching) in the software and in the jumbo hoop. That wasn’t part of this lesson. That is coming In month three.

Would it be better to do all of the crosshatching first and then the embroidery on top of it? I’m just wondering what would happen since you had the crosshatching stitched and if the embroidery would be OK if it was on top of that.

I didn’t want the embroidery to go through the backing of the quilt. And I wanted the crosshatching to hold the quilt top and batting to the backing.

Great job, Gayle! I have Glide thread-no Isacord thread in Canada. Do you have a conversion chart for the threads (Isacord to Glide) we are using in these videos?

I found this in an internet search www.glidethread.com/PDF%20Files/Glide%20Thread%20Conversion%20To%20Other%20Threads.pdf

So I have never sewed anything....But for christmas I got my 10 year old daughter a $100.00 machine from Joann's. So after we figured out how to thread it I found myself having more fun than she was....HaHa. So I decided that I would get my very own machine. I went back down to joann's to get myself a machine. But standing there I decided that J wanted something nicer than whatvI was seeing at Joann's. That didn't make sence because I have never sewed anything!!!! I went home to pull myself together. So of course was watching youtube videos. And that's were I first learned the name Bernina. So I looked it up and found out they were very expensive. I had decided to spend no more than $800. So I started looking up were I could buy a sewing machine other than Joann's in my area. Then I found Top shelf quilting that was only 3 miles from my house. So I decided to stop in. But what I didn't know is that they only sell Bernina and Bernette. So I was way over my $800 budget. So I explained to the lady why I was there and that my budget was only $1000. So she showed me the B435 that was on sale for $1499. So I went home to think about it. So i decided that it was more than I planned to spend but no where near as much as a designer bag. HaHa...So I went on line to really look at it. Then I found the Kaffe 475. So I decided that maybe I would get that one because it had a couple more features....so i bought the 475. So this should be the end of the story but I don't think it is😮. I am now trying to decide if I would rather have the Kaffe 570. So I cancelled my class this week to make a decision on the 570. But again thats a couple thousand more and the fact that I have never sewed anything has not changed. Should I just stick with the 475 and be happy or should I take 2 steps up and have a maching that I could probally do more with. But what is the more....I have not even mastered a stright line...Am I being ridiculous. Would you recommend as a newbie I stick with the 475 or just go ahead and get the 570. Im not even a fan of the decorating on the machines but I am a fan of all the xtras so I could get use to the print. And I do love the travel bag. But the Swarovski edition was more my taste. My husband insist this is a passing hobby and this time next year I will have purchased 5 machines all stored down in the basement....😂 Only time will tell on that one.
