- MARCH 10, 2020: It is impossible to enter Thompson Town in Clarendon and not notice the charming, single-storey building which is adorned with red, green and gold mouldings at the roofline, windows and an entrance arch.
But this is no normal ‘house’. Although it is big enough to hold a queen-size bed and maybe even a dresser, it is the final resting place for Aston Shirley, a 69-year-old community stalwart who died on December 29, and was buried last Saturday.

Family don't be disheartened by the negative criticism. Many will criticize because they don't have an iota of the caliber that great man. He didn't allow his disability to get in the way of his ability. I can bet if the family had bought the entire food and drink in Jamaica, and had a feast they would not be criticized. Family! Bury that man in anyway you pleased, only you know what he meant to you. In life he was a gem and in death he's been remembered as a dear friend. Condolences to the family. SIP.

This is nothing new and should not be criticized. For centuries people have been buried in huge mausoleums show casing their wealth and status in the community.

Well they say he loved food so won’t question whether or not he was taken care of before he died. As a matter of fact, the caregiver put that concern to rest. The grave house looks good and I hope they don’t vandalize it. Based on the tributes, he sound like a great man and thus it is quite befitting that he be remembered for that as his son has provided.

I agree but based on the video this man has done a lot for the community at large. His life wasn't celebrated as often people never appreciate the simplest things until you lose it. As the man said people would argue that it's a waste of money but it's well spend on someone who expressed selflessness. He was always giving when he was alive so the least they can do is give him when he can't refuse it.
