I bought one of these recently to replace my GoPro hero7 black. I use it as a general use camera as well as some RUclips vlogging type things. Love that you can hook up a mic to it and one thing you also didn't mention is you can upload actual 360 videos where the person watching your video can actually choose the direction as they're watching.
I think people get too caught up in this resolution non sense. Most people aren't even watching stuff on a device that truly takes advantage of 4k resolution and even 1080 is plenty of resolution for most situations. I'd rather have the flexibility this camera offers over better resolution. Resolution doesn't necessarily mean quality. Also if highest quality is what I'm aiming for I'll use my Canon R5 or R6. That's not the purpose of this camera.
I see some weird motion blur on your woods riding video. Is that just the flow state doing its thing or what? Were you running a slower shutter speed by chance through there? I'm still learning this little camera but it's pretty amazing what this little thing can do.
One thing I do hate is I cannot review a Timelapse on the camera screen itself. That's annoying. This camera isn't perfect but its pretty cool.

Be careful with mounting on handlebars. I broke my X2 due to the fact that the tripod mount on the camera is vulnerable. Opt for a metal cage and protect the lenses!

Thanks for this demo; I am considering upgrading from my GoPro Hero4 black which is from 2015 or so. After seeing this footage I can see that this image quality is very poor and I do not need to "upgrade" to it. The problem seems to be the max FPS is 30 frames and you must shoot mountain biking at 48+fps to get the smooth video quality.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and review of the Insta360 camera…..I’m leaving soon for a road cycling trip to the French Alps to fulfill a life long dream of climbing those iconic mountain stages of the Tour de France and would like to capture as many memories as possible enjoy myself and share with my family, friends and fellow cyclists. Do you think this would be the ideal camera to capture the road, mountains and sights ahead, behind and all around? I don’t want to get crazy with mounts and want to make it as easy as possible to carry, attach and enjoy without compromising my riding…..could you recommend the best mount to do this for my road bike? Thanks!

You got quite a nice bird-orchestra in the background :)

Thanks for the review. Thinking about getting an action camera. Trying to decide on this one or a GoPro for mountain biking. I will use it just for social media. I am a retired photojournalist so operating it would not be a problem. I just want one that is easy to edit on my IPhone. Thanks again

The Insta360 app, is really easy to use which is very helpful. The X3 and say a GoPro 11 are very different cameras, which offer different sharpness and clarity. Simply put, the X3 is a multiuse do everything camera which comes at the cost of a single use camera that will be able to refine and produce very specific outputs with different quality.

Wondering how the handlebar mount will work, probably going to be too shaking

Insta360 does something with the video stabilization where I can watch going through trees like that (POV with many things passing close by the camera) that GoPro just doesn't have.
With GoPro I have to look away, it's like it's tickling the back of my eye.

I get the appeal of the camera but for POV mountain biking videos the distortion is a little too much for me. In your chest mounted video it looks like a giant riding a tiny bike with small handle bars. The proportion of arms versus handle bars is a little funny looking. I do admit that the clips with the camera pointed at the rider offer a very interesting view but too much of that is also disorienting due to the distortion. For MTB videos showing a trail ride I still prefer a chest mounted single purpose camera (GoPro). For getting other creative shorter clips around the sport of mountain biking, a 360 camera makes sense.
