MY SECOND RUclips CHANNEL FOR BEGINNERS (RUSSIAN LEVEL 1) - / @russianlevel1
    ABOUT
All December on this channel we´ve been watching famous Christmas movies in Russian with Russian subtitles. This Christmas edition of my Learn Russian with movies series wouldn´t be complete without watching the all-time favorite Soviet comedy Ирония судьбы. The story takes place on New Year´s Eve and they always show it on Russian TV this time of the year. This movie is amazing and I have probably watched it like 10 times! I totally recommend it to you not only for learning Russian but also for learning more about Russian New Year´s traditions because as you probably know, in Russia we don´t celebrate Christmas much. The biggest holiday of the year for us is New Year and we have lots of traditions around that.
You´ll watch the clip three times. First, with Russian subtitles. Then, we’ll look at each phrase individually. I´ll read it to you in slow Russian a couple of times, you´ll see the English translation on the screen and I´ll explain the most difficult words and phrases. Finally, we’ll watch the clip again but this time without Russian subtitles. By then, you should be able to easily understand most of what is said in the movie.
Leave a comment below with your suggestions on which movie I should use next for my series Learn Russian through Movies.

Back in the days when Saint Petersburg was called Leningrad, and people were referring to аэропорт as аэродром... A wide range of Russian traditions were encapsulated in one cult movie, ирония судьбы 😊
Here is my suggestion : простоквашино (I hope I wrote it correctly), I know it's just a cartoon, but it's lovely
Thanks for the video, and best of luck 👍👍

I have many russian friends. i speak with them every day. They send auido messages, i understand everything. But i don't know how to go further from this point....

Thank you very much. I discovered yesterday your channel. It's a very good work! It ìs useful for me, even if i'm italian and my english isn't very good. You look like the girl with red hair and broken bloody lips who appears in the Movie "Zerkalo", in the part about war exercises, by Trakovskij. So, I suggest you some parts of Tarkovskij's movies, for example the dialogue about the Mission of Russia in Puskin's letter, or the dialogue with the mother and the doctor at the beginning of movie, or between her and the colleagues, both in Zerkalo. Or some dialogues of the movie Andreij Rublev.
