  • Come and explore Broome with us!
After a few weeks of enjoying the Dampier Peninsula, we're back in Broome and getting ready to head south.
First, it's time to check out some of the sights around Broome. We're taking you along to check out some of our favourites in this episode.
Kicking things off is the dinosaur footprints just outside the Broome township. We initially thought it would be great for the kids - which it was -but what surprised us was how much we enjoyed this one. Low tide around the Broome coastline reveals an awe-inspiring collection of prehistoric footprints in the mudstone. We had a great time exploring the water's edge, seeing how many we could find.
After all that hard work, it was time for a drink! We called in at the iconic Matso's brewery, famous for its fruit beers. Most people know Matso's for Liz's favourite, their Ginger Beer, but they have a unique range of beers worth a try. We've gotta say the Mango beer was a hit!
Next up was a trip out to Willie Creek Pearl Farm. Pearl farming is a massive part of Broome's recent history, and it was fascinating to take a look at what this industry is all about. We'd turned up too late to get on one of their tours, but after James ran into the owner, Rob, he was more than happy to take us behind the scenes for a private tour.
No trip to Broome is complete without enjoying a sunset on Cable Beach. We made our way down onto the beach and cruised along to find a spot to ourselves. What a perfect way to end a day of exploration.
The weather was getting warm, and the rains were on their way. Time to head south! The road south from Broome is pretty uneventful, but Barn Hill Station is a little gem along the way.
Not too far off the highway Barn Hill Station is a brilliant campsite right on the coast that has a relaxed and family-friendly feel. The shady grassed communal area with an adventure playground was a great place to rest and break up the drive for a few days. There's also plenty of activities and entertainment in the busier part of the season.
The next stop was 80 Mile Beach. This iconic stretch of sand is strikingly white and creates stunning blue water. We had a great time playing in the shallows and building sandcastles, but our visit was cut short when Harrison got stung by a jellyfish.

To remove sand from the kids before getting in the car sprinkle talcum powder on the kids feet etc. and simply brush away.

Sounds like that's the most common solution, we'll give it a go, thanks Jo!

Talcum powder is great for getting sand of kids feet.

To get sand off the childrens feet with ease, use talcum powder liberally over the sand areas and sand drops off without issue.

Awesome stuff again guys! Hey just a quick little tip which we only just figured out, if you find the GoPro lighting indoors looking a bit funny like at 06:19 change the settings by going to Preferences, general, anti flicker and change from 60Hz to 50Hz or vice versa! It’s been a game changer for indoor lighting, especially fluro 💡 lights! 🤙🏽 Also we use MukMat everywhere we go and it’s been awesome for Sandy little feet 🦶🏽

Thanks, guys! We do have anti-flicker turned on, but didn't notice the flicker when filming. I think it could be due to shooting and editing in different frame rates. Either that or, as you suggested, we needed to have anti-flicker on the other frequency. Lucky we don't film indoors often 😄

Hey guys. We’ve been long time watchers and enjoy your channel immensely! We noticed you have the Clearview Nextgen mirrors on your Ranger. Does the blinker on the mirrors (bottom corner that faces driver) give you any grief at night? We’re considering the Clearviews, and given the price, want to ensure they’re the right choice. Safe travels! 😀👍

Thanks guys. The Clearviews are great. We've not noticed the indicator causing issues at night, but that being said, we don't often drive at night. I think if you're travelling often or full-time they're worth the investment.
