I still hold up that the Secret Wars 2 crossover issue of New Mutants and its fallout were fantastic. The Beyonder kills the whole team and latter resurrects them all as his puppets. The reason this story stands out is because the Beyonder brings them back with full knowledge of how they were all killed leaving all of them with severe PTSD. It is so bad that Magneto who was the head master at the time has no idea how to help them so he sends them all to Emma Frosts Massachusetts Academy were the team join the Hellions hopping Emma can help the kids. After a few issue Emma does help the kids process what happened to them, but it did leave a mark on them.
I always brushed off all these teen teams until I watched Young Justice and of course Omar's recommendations have been nothing but stellar...so far 🤔 Do we think Poor Dead Doug will be in New Mutants Omni Vol. 2 and Extinction Agenda in Vol. 3?
I totally passed on New Mutants this weekend because they were playing C Nolan’s Dark Knight from 2008 for $5! Heath Ledger will live as a legend for that Joker role I just couldn’t believe my eyes and ears .
Yes i'm so excited to pick the Necrosha Era New Mutants later! Also i really enjoyed Academy X, does Childhood's End and Quest For Magik features Dani a lot? Fell in love with Dani, Magik, and Xi'an
You think they’re gonna reprint Inferno Prologue soon-ish? On the fence about overpaying for it on eBay. But I figure if Inferno is back during this big X-Men omni Reprint Renaissance this one has to come back too.
If Inferno does well, they absolutely will reprint it. They have discovered a cash faucet in all the grown X-Men fans who are getting back into their childhood passion.
Love the vid. I have New Mutants 99 in my list because when Sunspot left the team, it felt like the true end of the New Mutants and I love a good ending to a story/series.
@Omar and the community: Is New Mutants, X-Force etc. covered in the Grand Design Omnibus? And what are the most important/ impactful X-Men stories for the continuity, that I need to read? Would love to see more videos like this one!

I was thinking, they could take the three part New Mutants Truth or Death miniseries, and bundle it with the recent New Mutants War Children and sell it as a trade paperback so that we could finally have it collected somewhere.
I loved that first graphic novel with the New Mutants (the art by Bob McLeod was excellent) but then the comic book itself started with a lot of dud issues (IMO) I never felt the characters were well developed. Bill Sienkeiwicz's art then came in and elevated the title.
I'm not too familiar with X-Men comics but I just read The New Mutants Epic Collections #1 & 2. I love Bill Sienciewicz's art but sometimes it can be confusing. Issue #18 starts off with a young woman with closely cropped red hair. I wrongly assumed this was Rahne Sinclair and I couldn't figure out why this scene was never addressed again. After doing some research I found out that the character is Rachel Summers, not Rahne but I'm still wondering why that scene was even included, as it didn't seem to have anything to do with anything else happening in the book.
Issue 18 is a follow up to an Uncanny X-men issue where Rachel is having flashbacks of her timeline. Which leads into this book where she sees professor X getting blown away. Welcome to Claremont connecting his two comics like this, not often, but from time to time.

New Mutants by Claremont and Bill is the only comic by Claremont that I like, he is so dated and put a lot of boring dialogue, but I love the Demon bear saga.
