    Bears are one of the most intelligent animals.They are very adaptable;so much so, that they can lose their fear of humans, and their fear of other bears.
    They tried this "feeding time" at Yellowstone Park in the 60's and it was a huge failure.
    It is fun to make "friends" with wild animals,but it can quickly get out of hand.

      In all seriousness we need to ban all trophy hunting and we need to stop hunting bears in general because its not right to hunt an intelligent creature of any kind. If solitary creatures like bears possess the intelligence to call other bears for a free handout i could only imagine that they are fully aware of the actions of trophy hunters. This video of a guy feeding just one bear proves they can spread the word across a very large area. Could senseless hunting be part of the reason why some bears are very aggressive towards people?

    • @keybladefaith156
      @keybladefaith156 9 лет назад +5

      ***** I do not feed trolls so i will only address this once hunting is no longer necessary except to track down dangerous animals that have harmed someone. We live in an age where people no longer need meat for food and besides trophy hunters usually don't even keep the meat anyways. People are the most wasteful, evil, cruel, sinful, polluting, and not to mention the most ungrateful species on the planet bar none.

    At the Wildlife Research Institute in minnesota they' feed bears to gather scientific information on them. In summer when wild food is available out in the Forest they do not see most of these research bears because they have discovered bears actually prefer the wild foods the forage in the woods to what people offer them. They have discovered that feeding bears does not make them "Forget how to find wild food" which has been proven to be a myth.

    this is really cute and all and I don't want to be a downer but I don't think it's good for the bears to become dependent on humans like this

    These are dangerous animals but not as aggressive as grizzelys, all they care about is food and dont like confrontations, if you get confrontational that is when they will attack you also if you show fear. If you make loud noises however they will run away though.

    As long as the folk around that area know that the bears are simply looking for food then I don’t see the problem as the bears seem to know that humans aren’t harmful and as long as humans know the same then you could have a pretty badass town where human and bear have a nice relationship

    I see a huge potential opportunity to do some interesting reserach with these bears it might require sedating a few and radio tagging them or ataching radio collars but it would be worth while doing especialy to keep tabs on the local population numbers.

    i LOVE bears!!! even though i think it is beautifull than man and bear has come together in peace here, the fact still remains that this kind of interaction with wildlife breaks the nature of these animals which, ultimately is not good. anyway, great vid and thanks for posting. it is now one of my favorites.

      @@kevindavis296 hes right. Hippos are infinitely more dangerous than black bears - the more timid and least aggressive species of bear. Don’t get me wrong I agree that they are still wild animals, but the fact they are black bears helps them bc their species perfers to run rather than fight.

    We had a similar situation in Canada - a marijuana grow-op operator was found to have over 20 tame black bears on his property that he was feeding. The Ministry was going to shoot them all. I then started HELP SAVE THE BC BLACK BEARS facebook site and, with almost 5,000 members - the Ministry decided to let them go to den! DO NOT FEED THE BEARS! Pls. visit our site and show your support to keep these bears from being slaughtered. Doreen
