- V8 Supercars is one of the toughest motor racing categories in the world. To take an engine from a road car and turn it into a reliable and competitive race package in the space of eighteen months is quite an incredible feat and the entire team involved should be applauded.
the Titan engine will always be the best sounding modern V8
the vk56 is an awesome engine, to move a big 3t 3x3 in the way that they do is simply awesome, love my y62!
yusufaustralia are u fucking stupid ,the land cruiser series ,79 and 76
@@bricksonyourhead8245 You can not compare the two.
@@bricksonyourhead8245 Ok, comparing these doesn't make sense...maybe if the are compared to the Patrol Safari
That's what I'm talking about! That is awesome! I have a titan and love the sound and torque! I can't wait for the 2015 titan with that motor 420hp! and hopefully it's underrated like the previous gens.
The Altima might not look the part, but that engine sounds amazing
This engine was a gt1 world champion !! In a Sumo power Nissan GT-R !!
Wasn't that the vk45de?
Nissan made a dakar rally motor or something that they couldnt use so forsberg used it to win 3 championships in FD with it, if im not wrong that was a VK56 that went to 9000 rpm if I am not wrong
I NEED A PARTS LIST
They needed to use the v36 skyline not a altima
putting this in my xterra in about 2 months woop woop
I want to do the vk 6mt swap! Have you upgraded your diffs and rack?
Lets see it
@@hksjoshua its on my channel
If only the factory nissan altima came with RWD and this awesome vk56 engine in it would have sold loads
Is this vk56vd
So much work and effort and then Supercars just change the rules.
I have a VK56vd block i want to develop. Are they selling any of the custom parts they developed yet?
+VJ I'm sure with the right connections you can find one of these engines for sale. They will not be cheap by any means. The block is well over 90% reworked. Fully unlocked outside of regulations this motor will rev a lot higher with way more power.
Keep dreaming
Destaye I think je pistons make forged Pistons for this
Will fit in my skyline gt-r r34
Yes, but since you dont actually have an R34.........well it wont lol
@@travisjohnson343 Savage
will it fit in my micra?
damn, I own two 1.0 micras. I should combine the engines to a 2ltr V8 haha
Are there really any OEM Nissan Altima parts on the race car?
Lol of course not
Would this be able to fit in some older cars, specifically like a 1990's cressida ?
+Ashmeed Mohammed not about age, its about space
Hesayad i know. But I don't hqve any of these engines available to get a measurement or a mock fit. I was hoping that anybody with experience with these engines would be able to estimate if it can fit in those vehicles.
I reference the age as to specify which vehicle and which engine bay I am refering to.
+Ashmeed Mohammed You can fit almost everything from a V8 to a V4 into an x8 mate..
Nice!
+wanted vash v4 engine there is no such thing or any real car with that engine format wtf
Is the VK56 reliable ?
Very
Just make sure you do your regular maintenance. I do oil change on mine every 3,000 miles or six months. I have a 2022 Titan XD, which has this engine.
Will it fit in my Honda?
Drop this vk56 in my Xterra please, but tune it for the torque ;)
DRTMaverick its been done. And there are harness kits.
@@PureCountryof91 I'm doing it now in my Xterra! I have the VK56VD engine ordered and I have a CJD racing suspension (cycles 17" of wheel travel) on the way. I'm dumb lol, goodbye $$$$
Why don't they put a VK56 in the altima as a road car then, would sell like hot cakes now
Toby Partridge 420hp with a CVT gear box and fwd? No thanks
@@abdullaharshad5350 I mean in RWD would be nice haha, fuck FWD
they have an m56
Nothing about this Altima is stock. You'd basically be looking at the cost of a Mercedes C class to fit a v8 into a mid size sedan.
It wouldn’t be popular in the USA at all. Enthusiasts over here hate fwd and anyone after an altima doesn’t want a v8. Nvm that torque steer🫡🫡🫡😂😂
I wonder if they thought about using the 5 litre Nissan VK50VD engine which is used in the Infiniti QX70 in Australia ?
I'm still after a wagon or a sedan which isn't a big 4 wheel drives but no one in Australia is offering such a car which can replace my tuned 5.7 litre Holden VY SS Commodore !
New vk50 owner here. They use the vk56 because of its larger bores/ valves and then de-stroke it to fit the 5L class. The Skid Factory just did a video on a race spec vk56 from NZ that should explain why.
Never knew Nissan made a v8
this engine is from the Nissan Titan which started production in 2003, since then its been added to the Armada and the Patrol
Armada/patrol/infiniti qx56/qx80/titan
They've been making V8s for decades...world class V8s. VH45 is ancient yet advanced. Domestics wish they knew how to design an engine. They don't make a lot of power stock, b/c they're tuned for low end grunt to move heavy cars.
If memory serves , the vk56 has been in production over 15 years , with the 45 and 50 older yet . But let me say this , nissan has really opened my eyes to their engineering quality in their v8s. Very very well built engines.
So...can you guys build me a road legal one? 😁
good thing they deleted the variable cam control or the ancient pushrod v8's would be having a cry about it haha.
Ohv cam in block pushrod technology is actually newer than overhead camshafts btw.
hahahhaha
That doesn't mean that it's better. The issue with the pushrod design is additional mass in the valvetrain, and although it isn't normally problematic in lower rev ranges, in higher rpm ranges, you're more likely to experience valve float. For an oversquare, high rev build, OHV tends to be more reliable.
Nicholas Cortez Depends on how strong your valvetrain is, the limit for pushrod single cam in block is about 12,000 rpm, which is extremely high. Prostock engines are 8.2L and rev to 11,500 rpm. DOHC engines have a much easier time in high rpms. DOHC engines will always make more HP:liter than OHV CIB at the same displacement. Though when both engines are compared at the same horsepower, the OHV CIB engine will be of greater displacement and have less HP:liter, but will almost always make far more HP:Weight than the DOHC, there is also a lower center of gravity. For DOHC's to reach a greater HP:weight than OHV CIB, the engine needs to be making higher HP at higher rpms, like 10,000 or more. This power:weight and size advantage of OHV CIB's to DOHC only applies to Vee engines vs Vee engines, obviously because 1 camshaft the length of one cylinder drives every single valve, vs 4 times the amount in a DOHC.
Chris Huynh well which one do you perfect for daily driver and which one for drag racing?
❤🙏🏽😍❤🙏🏽😍❤🙏🏽😍
Yeah cool but it used to be a 5L just like it used to be a 4.6L.
Can fit this engine on my skyline gt-r r34?
fits 370z
I have a VK45DE and was wondering what kind of MT I can fit there? Can you someone please give me a hint.
With a Collins adapter plate a Nissan CD009 transmission
350 or 370 mt I think
I'm sorry but 12.5k hours to "build" a race engine when the vk motor is one of the most widely used race engines in the world is a God damn lie , they were used in ,indy lights, lmp 2,current lmp 3,jtcc 500 all supplied by nissan.
To bad the stupid rules in SC slowed it down.
U can say it has enough hp 🤣😁
Will it fit in a 240z?
Hell yes
People ls swap them all the time and id assume the ls is a physically bigger engine so probably
That would be cool
