The kit lens was the 28-80mm mk1, which had a metal bayonet and a ring motor. My wedding was shot on an EIS 100, back in 1995.

Hi, it's Rowen, Reilly, and Dad. We watched the episode last night and they were thrilled! The whole time they were worried about another Day#14 and you may have heard some screams of excitement from the east coast, when they saw you pulled out images on the negative. They both have their favorite from the roll. It was quite funny hearing them commenting and critiquing, like they are experts at 9 and 11. Amazing to see the generosity of your viewers and can't wait to see what you do with those rolls.

I've had some damaged frames also with UltaFine extreme. I thought it was from the manufacture too. I chalk it up to cheap film. Overall, I thought it a good film on a budget. Thanks my friend for all your help. Being retired, I can't afford all the film types, and you really fill that gap for me.

Those EOS film cameras are still the best deals out there for people who want something affordable but with high quality. Especially for anyone who is a Canon EF shooter. You got a ton of keepers! Looking forward to seeing you shoot all of this film.

P.S. I agree with you on the film probably being damaged by the manufacturer. Rumor has it that Ultrafine is some kind of budget or off run from Ilford, and I would imagine the slightly higher rate of defects on maybe beginnings or ends of rolls is how they score their cheap film.

You should probably clean the deteriorating rubberized residue off of the grip on the Canon EOS Elan camera Azriel, with paper towel and isopropyl alcoholl.

Great video as always! One question though: what are those signs of under-washing you talked about? Just curious in case I come across some in my own b&w devd negs, then I know how to fix it...

I think Google's algorithm is watching me. Just got my first EOS film camera today (50E) and Google suggested this video. Nice shots and cool music as usual.
Modern Photography ran an article on the Technical Pan once I remember. Let me know if you want a copy.

Oops, I'm sorry to say my memory served me ill here. The story turned out to be on the other slow fine grained Kodak film that was discontinued. Yes Panatomic-X.
The story ran in Popular Photography's summer issue of 1973 (called 35-MM Photography, Summer 73) and was written by Bill Pierce.
I see one copy of that magazine on ebay now at around $30 but seller won't ship to my country. Maybe he will ship to Canada.
Anyway, I forgot that you already used and developed a roll of Technical-Pan very well when you presented the Minolta Maxxum 50.
      Cheers.

I really liked your shots of the day. It looks like the camera fits you well:-) Do you wipe off water manually before hanging them up for drying? This might cause the damage of the negatives (your proposed cause might be true too).

    • @AzrielKnight

I do a squeegee with my fingers while the film is still submerged in photoflo

    • @ursm
      @ursm 4 года назад

@@AzrielKnight Hmm. I never ever touch the film until it is dry. I leave it in fotoflo for 2 minutes though. There is always a chance of a little particle scratching the surface.

These EOS cameras are easy (and cheap!) way to get into film photography. Bought my EOS 300 couple of years ago 'cause it was sooo cheap. With EF 50mm f1.8 and Ilford FP4+ you must be a real guru to ruin your shots :)
And I found one good use for that camera too: When I'm using camera which doesn't have a light meter, I use my EOS for telling me the exposure time

First of all my favorites are: 20:37, 20:50, 21:02, 21:21 and 21:49, also the frames 5,12 and 20 looks promising on the contact sheet.
I pased years looking for buy some ultrafine xtreme for bulk loading but sadly no exist a reliable form to get that to México because exist the posibility of can be opened on customs and naturally ruinned. For some reason black and white film is rare and expensive here on México. Color? Sure. Fujicolor C200 and Kodakcolor at 2 dolars piece but even the most simple and generic black and white film 8-10 dollars minimum.
    Cheers

Not really related to the video. But you have a twitter account with a bigger following than your instagram, but you use it almost exclusively to share instagram links. Twitter gives your followers the oportunity to share the things you post. You don't even share your videos over there. I'm just a fan of your work, wanting a more straight forward way to share it with other people.
