- How to build a chain drive spool/rear diff for crosskart. This drive spool was designed for my R1 crosskart (KJ Raycing style chassis) This is my 5th design.
Made a few prototypes after working the bugs out. i came up with this design. Made for buggies with bike engines that have 100+ hp. Has held up to the 180 hp R1. Uses R1 sprocket pattern so you dont have to get custom sprockets.
Next video i show how to mount to a crosskart!! STAY TUNED!

Welcome!
Dude im thinking of using a Subaru differential with cv axles as my rear drive, ill get a custome mount so the sproket can bolt to the differentials input and ya hopefully call it a day
I just looked into a subaru differential. That sounds like a really good idea. I didn't know they were that small. What kind of buggy r u building??
Is it practical to drill the grease fitting and weld hole prior to installing the bearings? seems like those metal pieces will destroy the bearings.. Possibly...
@VAN-Geaux yes that sounds like a good idea.
just curious, why do you put grease in there when those look like sealed bearings?
To keep it cool and something to fill the space so it doesn't get full of water or something.
Will the right and left caliper work? Or does it need to be right side?
@@yournamehere15 either will work. The only difference is where the bleed screw is
What is the total width ? Wheel flange to wheel flange ?
Its about 57 to 60 in
What year/range carrier did you use off the 800 Ranger?
I don't even know what year they are but the part number is 5134741
@@Xkarts200 Thanks for the response! For anyone else looking 41 is the LEFT carrier and 31 is the RIGHT carrier.
