Sometimes edits are necessary! As a Pentaholic I just love seeing new reactors discovering this amazing group. I am not even ashamed to say that I have watched this video of theirs so many times that I could describe the video frame by frame, lol! Love what you are doing!!
Same....same
@@annarasmus8737 same plus I have seen them 6 times in concert
Same
Why dont I like this
"WHO just made that low note?"
Me, in gleeful sing-song: "That's Aviiiiiiii!"
Oh boy, you ain't heard nothing yet dude. Avi is the man!
Right!! ❤️ Avi.
Avi!Avi!Avi!
It was Avi all along
That would be Avi!
Jase: “ Pentatonix, you caught me off guard last time, but I think I’m ready for you this time”
Me: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Mel V me too! My exact thought!
"Pentatonix, you caught me off guard the last time, and the time before that..... I have NO idea what I'm getting into, but I think I'm ready for you this time."
Me: Oh no honey, you are not. You are not prepared
Youre never ready for them. Ive watched them since day 1 and they still get me
To paraphrase Monty Python: "No one is prepared for Pentatonix!"
I laughed so hard when he said Avi had competition because Matt was the first bass he experienced 😂😂😂 . Matt is so amazing and I absolutely love him but Avi is OG for real and is a sick bass. Hands down. Keep diving into PTX and you’ll see. But Matt did do a phenomenal job of coming in, stepping up to the challenge, and really bringing his own flavor. He meshes so well with them.
Nothing against Matt, but I just haven't been as interested in PTX since Avi left. Something about that dude is just magical.
@@ohifonlyx33 Avis bass was so hard to replace, think it limits their options more.
@@ohifonlyx33 Also the fact that the man can sing 2 notes at the same time. As good as Matt is, Avi brought something substantial to the group. An intangible that made them win Grammys. Noticed they haven't won one since he left.
me too, i was like honey... 😂😂
@@Doublebarreledsimian To be fair they have been focused a lot on solo projects.Haven't put out much lately.
I love how he says “I’ve never seen this guy before, he wasn’t in the last video so you better bring it you got some competition.” Vs. me knowing perfectly well that Avi is great and Matt is the one who has some shoes to fill.
JBOY_100Sing S true story
As much as I appreciate Avi, Matt is phenomenal in his own ways. Don’t get me wrong, Avi is amazing, and I’ve followed him to his new avenues in music and he’s killing it, but Matt is also killing it
Love Matt but true
Skiddo4 idk it’s really noticeable something is missing without avi
RIGHT!?!? i seriously laughed out loud when he said that! no shade to Matt, of course
Jase: This guy better bring it
Avi: Hold my beer.
Love hearing Meat and Potatoes sing together again!!!! (Ogs will know this)❤️
Ok I know this reply is 3 months late but thank you for bringing a smile to my face with this comment
Uggg I miss the sing-off!!!! I love the new guy, but meat and Potatoes.......hit different!
“You’re names are no longer Avi and Kevin, your new names are meat and imma call you potatoes” LOVED PTX from Day 1
Every time he talks about Avi I think about meat and potatoes 😊
I kinda hope he goes back and watches one of their songs from the sing off like video killed the radio star or stuck like glue just to see his reaction to their beginnings.
😦😥😢😭🤧
"This guy's got some competition"
Little did he know, Avi is the competition
i just laugh hysterically when he’s amazed at avi’s note when that’s like not even close to as much as he can do😂 throwback to dance of the sugar plum fairy with avi’s and mitch’s notes that just shook everyone defo recommend
I swear, I’ll never get tired of seeing Jase freaking out whenever hearing Avi 😂
PTX - Daft Punk It’s absolutely amazing and you’ll be in awe again.
I watch this one probably at least once a month.
Yeah, but I think he should try all ptx masterpiece.
YESSSSS!!!⬆️⬆️⬆️
Yes!
Especially if you really want to see K.O.'s beatboxing skills. He's amazing it that one!
I love how in reality Mitch can make that guitar sound without megaphone and everyone reacting to this song is like "It's great idea to use it" "He sounds more like guitar with it"... guys try to listen to one of the live versions and you'll see he doesn't really need megaphone XD
Hollywood bowl 2022 on YT they do it live and he does it flawlessly
If you’re looking for a Pentatonix original, “Sing” is one of their best
Jessica Fawley Great song! You just can’t help but dance! 😃♥️
Agreed! Actually was the first PTX song I knew cause I sang it in chorus
One of my favorite originals by ptx so good
ALWAYS puts me in a good mood, even if I’m in the worst mood 😍😄❤️
It’s one of those songs you have to dance and lift up your face grinning to the sky
I love sing....but I think LOVE AGAIN....would really knock his socks off
their live version of Aha in Singapore would blow your socks off.
also, I don't think it's possible to listen to this song w/o singing along. thank you for the re upload.
normalboylikeme second this, that performance of Aha is amazing
It’s definitely the version to react to
i was about to comment this! He should react to Aha! live in Singapore!
If you want to hear Avi hit low notes, this is the song for it.
yessss
The unreal bass note of Avi's that GETS ME everytime is in Pentonix's Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairies
“I didn’t know the human voice could get that low.” There’s actually a guy, Tim Storms, with a 10-octave vocal range-his voice can go so low that you no longer talk audible notes, you talk hertz. There’s a video somewhere with Avi meeting him before a performance, and Avi having stage fright, knowing Tim was in the audience. 🙂
I remember this. It's in one of their PTX experience documentary episodes.
The only thing is that Tim’s voice isn’t as powerful as Avi’s or just any other bass singer’s voice in volume.
Ferny No, but I don’t think. He’s trying to be, either. 🤔🤷🏼♀️
Kazzellin Empanger You can just hear that at the first octave Tim starts losing that full bass sound, compare to JD Summer’s first octave and you’ll see what I mean.
He can go as low as the full piano. Granted the quality of the lowest notes isn't great, but technically he can reach that.
100% all them, vocally; there IS some production edits in the final...voices coming from left to right, that sort of thing. If you saw them live, you would TRULY understand!
Some reverb too. But this is a music video, basically acting out the studio recording for the album.
Yep, agree. They do add a BIT on these big produced numbers.
But you see them live and kill it. No, KILL IT.
There is a video out there of Mitch hitting a particular note in Aha, night after night, year after year, and each time its the same key, back vocals sound exactly the same. It could be sliced into one song and you would never know. That is the level of their perfection and production.
This and Daft Punk were done basically at home on a micro-budget. Minimum post production.
YES! I guess that's why they still amaze me with each thing they release, cause I KNOW they do it live! Saw them last year in Brazil, and I knew it would be awesome but it was much more, it was epic. Truly epic.
Roy Leatherby They are GREAT live!
If you want to hear DEEP notes, check out “Oogie-Boogie Song” by VoicePlay. Their bass is Geoff Castellucci, and he’s a basso PROFUNDO, same as Avi Kaplan (PTX former bass) and Tim Foust of Home Free. Basso PROFUNDO are basses that can sing a full octave below the standard bass range. Tim Foust has a 5+octave range. Geoff Castellucci has close to a 5 octave range. This video were recommending has him singing lead, and going very very low (the “growl” register) and all the way back up to a tenor range!!
Drieux Koeppel ooh yeah good on you for mentioning VoicePlay! I really like them as well.
I said listen to anything by voiceplay because of Geoff 🤣
Came here to leave this exact comment! 👍
Geoff is amaaazing.
Pentatonix and the crew filmed this in one long night's work. They released a "behind the scenes" video with additional details about getting the couch to move and rehearsing with it. Yes, they do this song live. No post production required.
And Mich doesn't need to use the megaphone - he does just fine without it.
I got the chance to see them last August, incredible show. I had chills the entire time
I saw their Christmas show this past December - same goes for me! I'm not ashamed to admit that I was even in tears a few times - especially when they did Hallelujah with all of them standing around one microphone. The thing that impressed me most about that (other than their beautiful voices, of course) was that there wasn't a sound from anyone in the audience...just complete silence. That may or may not be one of the times when I cried.
I'll be honest, I miss Avi in their group. He was so unique, but then they all are. If you want an awesome performance from him doing a special ability, pull up the song Aha. 😉
"There has to be a bunch of post production"
Me: * laughs in concert goer *
Trust me, they are as good as if not better when performing live.
Edit: Their show in Singapore this year was my first ever concert in my life and I dont regret going for it at all. It was amazing and mind blowing to hear how good they sound live
"laughs in concert goer" got me. 5 stars.
@@jasenyoface7555 BTW idk if you reacted to it yet but you need to react to Pentatonix singing Aha! in Singapore Star Vista. Just a little tip ;P
ONE HUNDRED PERCENT AGREE!!!
Fuck yes!
100% agree. Saw them live in Georgia on their world tour. So glad I got to see them live with Avi before he left!
That is the appropriate response to Avi's voice 😁 when he was still in the band sometimes the amps works malfunction while he sang just because they couldn't process how low his voice went
I've seen them in concert and they can whip out any of their songs live like we would Mary had a little lamb.
Agreed, there's been interviews with them when the host would asked them to sing a series of random songs and they could do it really well... if they stopped giggling XP
Yep...Avi (Ah-vee) was still with the group when this was recorded...and there isn't a lot of post production stuff...they sound as good live.
That's my favorite Avi reaction EVER!
Great reaction! You should check out their cover of "Gold" by Kiiara.. It's incredible.
Yeeeeaaaaah.agree
Omg YES!!
it is a master class
Everyday I wish that cover were on iTunes.
I saw them live it was LIFE CHANGING 😭😭😭 they are UNMATCHED..& very little mixing & no instruments really 💯💯💯
If you really want to hear Avi go deep, check out their cover of Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us", their original song "Love Again", and/or their original song "Natural Disaster". The studio version of "Natural Disaster" is audio only, but there are several videos of phone recordings from concerts on RUclips - in one of them (the one where Scott is wearing a red and black plaid shirt) there's a section where you can barely hear Scott singing because Avi's low notes cause so much distortion in the speakers.
Another group to listen too is Home Free! They do a cover of Ring of Fire with Avi!
That song is Amazing! Got to listen to it! You will get double goose bumps from both the basses.
Love this version of ring of fire
I laughed when he said Avi has some competition. Nothing against Matt! I love him dearly, but Avi is so incredibly talented and amazing!
I miss Avi, he had such a large range, Mat was left with big shoes to fill.
Watching him having to walk away from Avi about halfway😂
*Jase gets up and leaves the room after hearing Avi.*
Me: *laughs and nods knowingly* Yes, grasshopper.
As a Pentaholic...this video made my day. Watching you react to Avi Kaplan is the best thing! I got so many good laughs out of this. You should definitely check out PTX "Aha" if you haven't already to hear Avi's overtone singing! I miss Avi soooooo much. The OG
Imagine cover pentatonix. Please
I second this request!
Oh my yes please
Yeah that is an amazing reguest :)
Hell yeah
YES it's them with Lindsey Stirling and it's AWESOME.
I hope you do more of these guys You may also like:

other wise I LUV your reactions!
Just pick almost any video from Pentatonix and you will be blown away. As I'm sure others have told you Scott, Mitch and Kirsten all went to high school together in Arlington, Texas. They formed the group to go on the sign off and they won. (It's really worth watching the videos from the show.) The thing that most impresses me is that they do all their own arranging and they do it on the fly. They don't write it down. They have a guy in LA who works with them and I think he helps do some of the arranging.
By the way, their Christmas albums are epic.
SOme of their newer vids are really strong. Come Along is fun and Shallow is really moving and features Kevin playing the cello.
Rock On Man.
I’m a hard rock guy to, my daughter was watching the sing off stuff and I heard them a few times. They then started putting out their albums up so I bought her them as they came out. I love music and was so impressed by what I heard. When we had the opportunity to see them at shoreline amphitheater we bought tickets for the family. They performed this song during the encore, it was absolutely amazing they seriously sound this good live. We loved it so much we saw them again this time in an arena, saw sound of silence live which was also amazing. These five are the real deal and anyone who appreciates music can appreciate what these five can do.
I know it’s a little more ‘country rock’, but you should do “Man of Constant Sorrow” by Home Free. They are also an A Cappella group. when you hear it, remember that the harmonica sounds isn’t a harmonica! Hehehe
And Chance does the mouth harp sounds. Amazing.
Best of Pentatonix.... Say Something, Imagine, Aha!
Jase, these guys leave you so raw, you gotta leave the room!! I LOVE THAT‼️‼️‼️ Their music is INTENSELY POWERFUL & you're so BEAUTIFULLY EXPRESSIVE‼️‼️‼️ THANK YOU!!!
They performed this live at a series of 4th of July concerts in 2017 at the Hollywood Bowl. After the performance on the first night you can see Scott go ‘whew’ and wipe his brow. They had wanted to do this for several years. They had done a snippet of it in their Evolution of Music video several years earlier, but weren’t sure they could do the whole song and do it well. I’d say the wait was worth it.
You’ll be blown away by Avi (bass) and Mitch (tenor) in their AHA! Live at Star Vista Singapore!
question: did you recognice that the high part was from mitch? the guy? that gets me every time
Pia König me too! I always think he is my favourite, then I hear another and think they are, but always go back to Mitch!
@@sharronferreira6420 omg that's basically me😂 I joined the fandom because of mitch then switched to Scott and by now it's just a switching game where I can't really decide who of those 5 is my fav
Pia König I thought the same. I don’t think he realized that. Hahaha
Love your reaction! And no, nothing is wrong. Avi is just THAT GOOD!!
One of my favorite songs by them is Mary Did You Know
Evolution of Music is definitely one of my favorites of their older ones.
Please do PTX' Daft punk 🔥
Oh. My. Goodness! I absolutely loved seeing your introduction to Avi Kaplan! Welcome to the party!
Welcome to being vocally mind blown by PTX! Long time fan and have seen them live. No tricks. All talent.
Avi’s natural talking voice is like dark velvet!
They do have behind the scenes of how they put this together, here is a link to it ruclips.net/video/Q8ugJnIG_Lk/видео.html. This should answer some of your questions. Enjoying your trip down different paths of great a cappella groups.
Ohhhhh this is the first one with Avi he watched. 😈💗 the second he heard Avi’s vocals it was game over. I love the current set with the man who replaced Avi when he left but Avi will forever have this special place in my heart whenever I listen to PTX
Yup, Avi Caplan's BASS is one of the sickest smoothest basses around today. And Mitch's contra-tenor is definitely one of the cleanest I have ever heard. Kevin's beat box skills are always on point. The whole group is super talented.
Listen to “land of ahhs” by PTX and Todrick Hall
*wizard of ahhs it is so amazing 😍😍
I requested it too!
Since Avi (the base) left Pentatonix he has done more solo music! Look him up, Avi Kaplan❤️
I'm here for your PTX reviews. PTX is the best!! I've been lovin seeing your reaction to them too
I cant help but to smile. I love watching g people react to PTX. you can tell you love music.
If you want to see how they don't need post-production, watch the cover of "Gold" by Kiiara. It's just them on a sofa with mics and they do it up. If I'm not mistaken, Avi is a basso profundo, which is why his range is so incredible. I'm still not over his leaving. I adore his voice.
Jessica Barber I’m not over it either 😑. I miss him so much with them.
Please! Imagine and Daft Punk
Imagine will show you how pentatonix is such a loving group. No matter how different they are from each other as they share different religion and culture, they gather as a family.
Daft punk will surely blow ur mind, trust me
Your Avi reaction was awesome and genuine. So glad you enjoy this talented group. Great channel you have.
Incredible group.
Check out “Amazing Grace” by Peter Hollens ft Home Free.
Yesss #hollensfamily!!!
Peter Hollens in General
VoicePlay Oogie Boogie Man. By the way, there are several channels out there that did side by side performance of Pentatonix and Queen doing this song. Their presentation and timing are spot on with Queen's original version.
That video is GREAT. Geoff Castellucci is amazing!
Your reaction to Avi was priceless! Haha. I was waiting for that.
Avi is seriously incredible
The waves of emotion I feel listening to 8D music. My youngest giggles when she listens to Hallelujah ❤
Performed live, Mitch does the same electric guitar solo with a plain on microphone 🎤.. 😁 It sounds exactly the same. They sound just as good live, btw, and I look forward to that reaction you said you were going to do to their "Hallelujah" Live, Official Video! it's on their channel, and I don't think it has the same problem with being blocked like these other videos do. Blame the label!
If you want a good song- I recommend “Rise” covered by Superfruit. Always have chills when I hear that song
They NEVER fail to bring it! They are the best harmonizers ever! NO MIXING!
Dude, I love your reactions, I feel like I'm watching Kevin Smith do reactions! 🤣
Besides "The Making of PTX Bohemian Rhapsody" there's another video of this run in parallel with Queen's version, The synch is perfect. I'd love to see Brian May's reaction to this video. Also, did you catch Kirsten's leap onto the couch while wearing platforms? Talk about a potential ankle breaker!
Post Modern Jukebox - Creep. No regrets.
Fact
Post Modern Jukebox in general is no regrets!!!
Oh good!!! I was going to request this one after watching your Hallelujah video! This version of this song is life changing
I absolutely love how they recreated the original video. ❤️
Wait what why was it blocked? Everyone else’s reactions are still up without pauses/ blur?
He doesn't have sufficient back-time, so RUclips was abusing him.
What does back time mean?
@@ameliacorazon4015 the very basic explanation is he's new to youtubing so youtube picks on him
@@vixenvicky3842 yeah, basically he hasn't made u tube enough money yet 😡
If he thought that Avi was deep, he should listen to Tim Foust
I think some of the highest praise was that the great Brian May tweeted out a link to their video. I also love that they paid an homage to him with the shooting stars, since he's an astrophysicist, and the 4 shooting stars for the 4 members of Queen, who are rightfully stars that so many look up to as inspiration.
I love the natural reaction to this. Keep it coming!
Try to react to home free, maybe their cover of ring of fire 😍
Please react to Oogie boogie man by VoicePlay!! If you love basses then you’ll absolutely love that one! Their bass is incredible
It is fascinating to see you enjoying ptx. They are awesome and have so much more you need to explore.
Holy Moly this is unreal. Like the first time I heard Queen do it. These guys are crazy good!
You should do a reaction to Home Free’s cover of Man of Constant Sorrow!
You should react to AURORA she has a crazy good voice
I recommend: Running with the wolves, The Seed, It happened quiet, Murder Song, The River
All her songs are amazing though
Yeah I love her
When you got up and walked away I laughed out loud, and subscribed. This group is phenomenal.
The guitar bit by Mitch is one of my favourite things about this vid. I loved Kevin as the drum kit, but Mitch as Brian May's Red Special is a delight.
"No way that isonly from human voices" To be fair, I don't think some of them are human
Mitch is not human. He is a beautiful 🦋
I like to encourage the people who appriciate PTX
Keep up the good work... nice reactions...
First let me say I adore ptx. Second let me say you are awesome and so funny. I was drinking when you said "He needs to see a doctor" about Avi and I thought I was going to die choking. Lol Thank you for being awesome and I hope you are growing to love PTX like we do. :)
I put this request on another video...didn’t do my homework to see that someone already suggested it. Good stuff! Rock on!
Omg! More, more PTX!!! All you want!!!!
I can imagine Jase in his editing chair saying, "Ain't no Effin way this is going to get blocked again!"
Also, Good Guy Jase tags the original video because he's like "Go see this shit in all its fabulous glory... after you subscribe."
Wow. I legit laughed out loud - loudly - when you said “This guy needs to go see a doctor or something.” After a bad day that was just what I needed.
I don't think I'll ever get tired of your reactions to Avi's bass
I’ve watch that music video a thousand times!
I’ve seen them in concert 3 times! They are for real👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Long PTX fan, and it's great to see someone who generally would have never listened to them, react the way he does. FAN FUCKIN TASTIC
I can't contain myself for this reaction!!
I saw them on live and there are just as good it was incredible
His reaction is so pure
Once you hear them live, you'll realize how little editing goes into these videos... Love what you're doing thus far! Keep up the great work.
July 2024 and I wanted to hear my favorite version of Ring of Fire, but also wanted to smile along to your reaction.
