Not a bit of disappointment here!!!! You guys made it --- against a handful (in comparison!) of nay-sayers. Boy did yall (the whole group) prove 'em wrong --- in such a BIG BIG WAY!!!! So proud of all yall :). Personally, I believe it broke a ring or a ring-landing on the piston, or both. The few whiffs of smoke could be seen on throttle-up which easily may not be seen at speed. Probably never turn to wrench on a race car and put your hard-earned money into it it's easy to spend $50 or $100,000 of somebody else's money much more difficult when it comes out of your pay. Cannot be more proud of these guys and what they accomplished first time out at eldora it's a learning experience they're growing by leaps and bounds but they're still good old boys and I like that even if they are from Florida LOL. You had it flat out most of the way around. 9000rpm not a great idea for that long a race. Probably wanna send the engine to get new rod bolts, valves and springs, as well as bearings and rings, timing belt.... Just an opinion. Great job, you guys proved you can get in and run with them big dollar boys. Keep up the good work, you earn what you get, gotta be happy with the results!!!!

Actually it was parked the next night they found problems And it never turned 9000 the whole race...Now the Clements and Cornetts turned 9000 and above.
They need a Andy Duharm motor. Draime are good local track motors but they haven't kept up with the times. In the 90’s they were great, we had 6 of them.

Back in the late 80s my Dad and Uncles went and ran the World 100. Racing against legends such as Duval, Hewitt, Boggs, young Bloomquist, Rayburn, Gill, Purvis, among many others. At lot of those guys raced our local tracks during the summer and we did well against them but Eldora for the 1st time against them wasn’t the same. Memories I’ll never forget. Good Job HTF team. It was your 1st time at the Big E running with the best.

Joseph is a great driver, we just need him in the car he needs to close it out!!!! Definitely not a crew issue, every track, every day and night is a new issue. Definitely not trying to armchair quarterback... if the car isn't than it needs changed. That's the racing game,but I ain't a crew chief or saying what ya'll don't know! Lol keep giving #10 all she has and thank you for sharing with us....I love the content and competitive racing issues. It takes allot more works, yet you guys do it with so much grace. Thank you for doing all you have and do.
After watching several of these videos I will say that this dude isn't the best driver but he is very good at taking care of his race cars!!

Suggestion: For fast troubleshooting.... Get a high temp. lazer thermometer gun. Shoot the headers. The cold one is the problem cylinder.

Grew up not far from there. Gone to Eldora since early 2000s and even still today I'd love to race there, or even race anything for that matter

Sometimes when the air cools off you have to up your jets in the carb
I would have done a quick compression check. Just to make sure when the valves got ran they didn't over tighten one a bit.
