Just bought my first pair of Cabell's today thanks to your channel! Been after an affordable pair of GAT's for over a year and Adidas impossible to find in my size.
The distressed replica Margiela's are pretty cool, and the lining is a bit better. OC's definitely better for the price though.
Two things:
1. You saved me from becoming a hype beast. I would rather pick these up than the Yellow Yeezys dropping soon. (Flexiablity > Flexing)
2. I actually might buy the adidas ones because they come in a tan chalk color. (I will admit though, minimal branding is the best)

I just bought white ones, I feel like other options are way too expensive. I don't mind branding on some shoes, and I would say that although there is more than enough of it here, they are still pretty clean.
Adidas re released this sneaker a couple of years ago. I got a pair for 100 and I love em. Honestly would have bought 2 if I knew they where gonna go away. They looked so good I thought they where here to stay, but this video is pretty sweet now I know of a viable similar looking alternative don't gotta wait for Adidas to get their head out their.

Thank you for your honest opinion on a delicate subject - personally, I'd rather save money (to use to buy a second pair) and still look good. Not everyone knows about Margiela Gat's or could tell the difference from a distance if they were aware. Keep up the great content.

The Oliver Cabell seems to have a bit of quality control issues from what I've seen/experienced. Not a bad shoe, but if you can afford the Margiela, you should go for it.

The best GAT is the OG. I had one pair for two years and I can still wear them and they look not dead. They‘re also too small technically but I can walk with these 8 hours straight without any issues.
People are still wearing MM GATs that are 10 years old. The originals are inferior in every way as they were mass produced as cheaply as possible. No comparison, but of course you've never tried the MM GATs.
Beckett Simonon has one that similar to Maison Margiela and they are on sale for $99 (original price is $149). You should check them out as well. I feel like the quality is very similar to Oliver Cabell.

I love Oliver Cabell. They’ve honestly become one of my favorite go to brands. The quality is the there, the prices are amazing, and their customer service is just top notch. Their GATs are some of the best out right now.

i dont know about how it is in the rest of the world, but where i live in australia nobody recognizes margielas or the margiela numbers shoe tongue thing. so its not really much of a flex. i can say however that the leather quality really top notch and cant really be compared to OC

You could always just get the adidas and exacto knife the rubber adidas part and and destitch the tongue logo
A quick tip for everyone, the german military has the same shoe as their indoor sport shoe. But you get those for 50 euro. Called "Bundeswehr Sportschuhe Halle". And they are off really good quality

If you know where to look you can find an original pair of GAT's in like new condition for under $100. I took a chance and bought a pair from a military surplus store for $40 and the pair that was sent to me was like new never and never issued but I bought a second pair from them and that second pair was beat to hell so I returned it so its kind of a gamble.

i'll still get the margiela, cause you can find some way under retail when they go on sale or on grailed. plus if i get bored of them, i can still sell them and get some of my money back if not majority of it due to the brands name. imo its a better investment.

First, I love the channel and your authenticity but I would not buy either one . I am probably the only one or very few amount of people that thinks that GATs and are hideous . Not sure what it about them that is off for me. Maybe it is the toe box. Not sure what people see in them as far as fashion. Maybe they're just really comfortable.

The Adidas ones are far better looking ones. They really nailed the angles on the toe box suede and the branding is invisible. You're too purist.
Why spend more when you can get the same look for considerably less? If one is into conspicuous branding for the sake of flossing and can afford the price, then go for it. I'd rather keep a few bills in my wallet.

Margielas 100%, Quality, colorways, the good discount price the brand it self is next level with the creativity. Oliver Cabel is a big no for me, in the first place why can they make a shoe that looks so much like the Margielas?
