- Spotify Premium Duo is a discounted plan for 2 people that lets each person have their own Premium account.
If you started a Duo plan, here’s how to invite someone:
1. Log in to your account page: www.spotify.com/account/duo?u...
2. If you haven’t yet, confirm your home address.
3. Send the invite to the person you want to add. They have to accept the invite and log into their own account.
Once they confirm their home address, they’ll be added to your Duo plan.

Hi Camilla! Members of this plan will still keep their original accounts and will be using Spotify independently of each other, but will both have the Premium features. What you're trying to do sounds more like a Group session: ruclips.net/video/0uGgzBOMLXo/видео.html. Group Sessions are a Premium feature where you can sync up your playback on different devices.
Doesn't really work like that I tried many times fixing my wife's and the verify address part never pops up it's frustrating to know they charged me and I still can't get it right
I have question, i know they need to type same location as i, but i want to surprise my 2 friends with spotify family, but we live far apart, do they need to have same ip adress or they can type my living location?
This has not been easy to invite the 2nd account, states he is already an subscriber (free) and it states he's already a user? BUT doesn't get the Premium.
We cannot listen to each other using it separately. Every time one person listens, it cancels the other out

Hi! Duo and Family are plans that require the participants to live together. This is a requirement in order for us to be able to provide these discounted plans.
Do we need to be under the same household to use due? Can’t be different addresses?

Why does it ask the second person to log in or create an account? I sent the invite, so it should be as simple as "i'm a guest" and "confirm adress" or something straight forward like that, right?
It is to give the second person their own private account where playlists are separate. If they were simply a guest and this plan was cancelled then the guest account would be gone along with their playlists, where with an account of their own it would still exist, it would just be under their free plan that has ads and no offline playing until they select a plan of their own if they wanted to.

I don't want a link from you guys with more confusing information. The website is broken and won't load and I'm switching plans because this is ridiculous. It should be simple and it should not keep throwing loopholes everytime I'm taken to a website and I don't see anywhere where I'm supposed to click. And every time I click on exactly what I'm supposed to click on, it just takes me right back to the same spot. Help or not, I'm speaking for everyone who is just as frustrated with the pointless confusion and multiple links as I am.

There's a problem with the address part, me and my mom put the same address but it says it different :/
I fixed it, so you must be in the same country, mine was different from my mom's so that's why it wasn't working, hope this helps :)

Hi! We use Google Maps for the address verification, so one thing you can try out is ensure that both the plan owner and member input the address as it appears on Google maps and ensure it is a complete match. Be careful for any extra spaces for example!
Can u cancel your solo and make a duo but since you were ready charged for solo will it follow through to the duo
Hi there! You don't even need to cancel Premium Individual. You can sign up straight to Premium Duo and it will get activated right away. To account for the price difference, your next payment date will adjust automatically and be brought forward. The idea is to make the switch as seamless as possible so you can just continue to enjoy your music 🎶

When accepting the invite to join my wife's Spotify account, I signed in as her instead of creating my own account. How do I rectify this? When I open spotify, it appears to be her account. We can't listen to our own individual music. They are not individual accounts. She does not see me on her account. Thank you!
Hey Isobel! Have you set up a personal account already? If not - that's the first step and you can do it over on www.spotify.com/signup. Just make sure you're logged out of your wife's account before that. Might be a good idea to use an incognito browser window to avoid any confusion. Now, just log in with your own account and have your wife send another invitation link. Accept that one and you should be good to go. Hey! You need to make sure that both account's country settings match. There's info on how to edit the setting over here: support.spotify.com/article/country-region-settings/. Once you ensure the countries are correct and match, it should work! Keep us posted.

It says on the web that I have successfully invited my brother but he's still not being able to use the premium feature . But on my next bill I will be charged for the Premium Duo .
Hi! Has your brother accepted the invite that you sent to him and can you see that his account is added to your Plan over here: spotify.com/account/duo? If so, make sure your brother is logging in on the app using the same email address that you sent the invite to. Let us know how it goes.
I just got my premium duo but i doesn’t work😢
Question 1: When the other person accepts the invitation, is their entire account merged? Including liked songs, playlists, etc.?
Question 2: Does the other person's billing automatically stop? Or do they have to manually cancel their old, personal plan?
Question 3: When I open spotify on my phone, will have need to indicate "Who is Listening?" Or can you save profiles to devices?

Q1: Everyone keeps using their own personal accounts and everything on the accounts (playlists, library, etc.) remains as is. They just join the new subscription.
Q2: If the initial subscription was made through Spotify, the billing is automatically paused. Should the plan member get removed from the Duo subscription, billing will resume. If the subscription was made through a different third-party provider, such as your phone operator, please get in touch with them for details on how the billing is handled.
Q3: This is related to Q1 - You log in to Spotify with your own account and that will be the account that's used when you open the app. The app doesn't support profile switching. In order to access their own library on the same device, another user must log out of the current Spotify account and log into theirs. It's best to use Spotify on your personal devices. On Android, you could also try setting up different Android user profiles, to keep apps separated. That should also work.

Hi! Premium Duo is just a subscription plan, so you do need your own personal accounts. Nothing changes as how you use or log into them, they remain separate and personalized with your separate libraries and playlists. If your husband's Premium has been booked directly through us, the billing will pause and only resume if he is removed from the Duo plan. If he has Premium through one of our partners (like a mobile provider), it's necessary to cancel with them first. There's more info here: support.spotify.com/article/payments-duo-plan/. Hey! You can change your plan at any time. The prepaid duration will be adjusted based on the cost of the new plan. So if you upgrade to Duo, your next billing date will be brought forward, but you'll still have a lot of time that has already been prepaid. You'll be able to check your new billing date on your Account overview page at: www.spotify.com/account/overview/

Hi! Duo is intended for use with two Spotify users that live together at the same address. Besides inputting the same address, the people joining the subscription should be at the same physical location. We use several technical checks to verify the address and membership eligibility and prevent abuse.

And what do I do when this doesn't work?! As usual Spotify is a techie's wet dream but a nightmare for those of us who aren't one. Your support offers NO option for speaking with someone who can help when your website suggestions don't work. I invited someone and when they tried to enter their email address it says that address is already associated with an account. When they tried to log in, it says the username/password combo is invalid. THERE IS NO OPTION TO REQUEST A PASSWORD RESET. She then tried to "Log in without password, and it says, "No user found with this name." SO HOW THE FUCK IS THAT USERNAME ASSOCIATED WITH AN ACCOUNT BUT NO USER IS FOUND WITH THAT NAME?!?!? My invitee even uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but still cannot sign in. So now we're basically fucked. Well done, Spotify. There is nothing so useless as an app that won't do what it claims to. I'll be looking into other music services, and when I find one, I will cancel my account.

Hi! We use Google Maps for the address verification, so the addresses need to be the same as they appear on Google Maps. A quick way to ensure this is the case is to use a plus code, instead of the actual address: maps.google.com/pluscodes/. Just find your plus code using the link and input it in the address field for both you and your partner and it should work!

It explicitly states that *in theory* you have to live at the same address to use the Duo subscription. You also need to enter the same address for it to work therefore.

Hello i managed to add the account of my wife to our spotify duo subscription but she is still having my account with my PL my picture etc etc how can she switch into her profile please ?
Hi Paul! First up, make sure your wife has already created her own account over on www.spotify.com/signup. She should have login details from this account creation. This should be the account that you invite to join your Duo subscription plan. Then your wife just needs to use the login details that she picked in step one to log into her own account on the Spotify app. Keep us posted if you managed to sort it out.
It keeps playing the same songs as if it's only one account still

Hi! You should see the "Premium Duo" section on your account page: www.spotify.com/account/overview. If you don't see it there, check under Plan to confirm that you're on Duo. If anything else is showing it could be that you're logged into a different account, which would explain why the options aren't there.
