Hi Charley, thank you so much for this!!! I’ve been looking for something like this for ages! 😊 can you do this with something that has different layers? Such as colour?
I love when a video does what the title says. This was clear and to the point without a lot of unecessary information, and really clearly demonstrated.
This is LIFE CHANGING for me. I can't draw in illustrator and Procreate has been my lifeline for learning to draw. Now I can add my drawings to Illustrator for logos! Thank you!
Thanks, Charley. I find that it’s best to NOT resize the TIFF format file after bringing it into Illustrator as the image trace function captures more detail from the reference pixels of the image at the larger size. The image trace can essentially render more curves and detail points at the larger size. Once refined and rendered as vectors, you can then scale the new vector shapes down and more detail will be evident. Nice pace in your videos. So many others resort to snail pace instruction. Thanks!
This video just completely saved me from having to redraw an artwork. I knew how to convert my image to vector, but I was using a png and it was coming out terrible. Using a TIFF gave back so much detail that was being removed from my drawing. THANK YOU!
So is Sunday morning , I’m fixing breakfast for my daughter and I’m thinking at some point I’ll have to learn how to vectorize my procreate drawings next week. Next thing I know I’m watching this video and before my beautiful daughter ends her breakfast I know the basics of what I thought would be a hard learning process. You’re a natural born educator my friend. Muchas gracias for the amazing tutorial. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks so much for sharing. I haven't played around with Procreate yet, but it seems like a solid app. I'm going to give it a try. I've done a similar process back in the day pre-iPad to get my hand-sketches into a vector format. Well done. Great clear demo.
Great tutorial! Of our procreate files ia multi layered with multi colors , do you recommend exporting each layer individually as a tiff and the placing them all back together as separate shapes/paths on illustrator?
This was an incredibly concise and informative video-thanks so much for giving a quick and quality overview on how to do this. It was the perfect refresher for me.
Thank you for this. Always nice to learn a new aspect of the process in Illustrator! That 'ignore white' function is a good one. Also, thanks for getting right to the point and moving along in the steps. Succinct and easy to follow. :)
Hey Charlie thanks for the great video, I was wondering if there’s any way to do the same fore procreate works that contain multiple colors? I’m a rookie to procreate and graphic design, let me know if you have any tips, thanks
Hi Charley thank you so much for this video. Can you make a video on how to turn an artwork you have designed in Photoshop specifically with 3 or more colours and turn it into graphic print? At this stage I will be using DTG printing but I am confused as to what file I should be aiming to get the best quality print. Thank you in advance
Charley!!!!! This is such a quick and easy to follow and implement tutorial!. You have saved me HOURS of time, trying to work with A.I. THANK YOU. I especially loved the tip to remove the white background so the image becomes a PNG. what what ???? THANKS
Thank you so much for this video! I hope to see more of it! Im trying to draw a mural for 30 feet wall. I'm currently using Procreate at the moment and I'm drawing them in separate pieces. After I am done, I'm planning on migrating it to Adobe illustrate and put them all together on one big sheet. Before I do that, How much Pixels and DPI should I be using while I'm drawing them separately?
Hi! This helped me get my procreate design into Illustrator, and I think I followed all your instructions, but for some reason I can’t change the colors…any ideas? Thank you so much!
this is so helpful thank you. I've just started studying digital and interactive design and I've been contemplating getting an ipad pro for not only designing but also school work (taking notes etc) but I was worried about using apps like procreate in conjunction with illustrator and after effects etc.
This is so helpful! I'm referencing this info for my first oracle deck ;) Thank you so much for creating this super clear and informative video, Charley! I spend the majority of my time analog painting and feel confident and inspired to keep going with the digital aspects of the deck project thanks to you!
Wow ! I don't have illustrator but I will get it cuz this is what I have been looking for for Vector formats, I have been watching Inkscape and GIMP tutorials and when I do something and wanna save them I don't see the vector formats but the thing is that if I wanna use these vectors formats on printful and Teespring they accept only Jpeg, png,Tiff etc but not vector formats kinna suck.
thank you for this video! i’m really experienced with procreate but not illustrator and i was worried i would have to create all my designs in illustrator
Are you able to port your design from procreate to illustrator with image fully colored or does it have in black in white before turn the image into vectors?
Hi, what do you recommend when the ilustration its not as linear, its full of brushes of effects? I need to resize my art to a bigger size than procreate allows me
Great video. question, what dpi and canvas size are you creating the original art in Procreate? I am creating an animated short and need to transfer my line drawings in vectored layers(arms, legs, etc) and keep the thin, pencil-line texture i used in Procreate. Building true to size 1920x1080/72 dpi. Lines are vectoring too smooth am losing detail when tracing in Illustrator. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Thank you for such a helpful video! Do you have any tips about afterward editing such files in adobe illustrator, or just tracing is enough to submit it to print?
How's everyone doing? 😀
Charley Pangus youre so cool sir 👍👍
Maria Luisa thank you 😁
Charley Pangus yeah this channel is awesome, keep working:))
Hi Charley, thank you so much for this!!! I’ve been looking for something like this for ages! 😊 can you do this with something that has different layers? Such as colour?
Good video, can you transfer it and keep the Color in it or do you need to bring it in as a b and w only?
I love when a video does what the title says. This was clear and to the point without a lot of unecessary information, and really clearly demonstrated.
Thank you for talking fast and getting to the point. 👍
Matilda Porter Exactly what i came here to say. And he doesn’t talk through every tiny detail like we’ve never seen a computer before. I love it 👍🏻
Amen to that!
This is LIFE CHANGING for me. I can't draw in illustrator and Procreate has been my lifeline for learning to draw. Now I can add my drawings to Illustrator for logos! Thank you!
Always here to help where I can :)
Can u do a logo for me 😔?
Thanks, Charley. Came here to say this. Great catch, but also great video.
@@PhoenixMoore so basically, leave it big and out of the art board till you vector it ?
@@christieovalles5814 Basically, yes. It may take longer to render and such but the results have always been better, at least in my dealing with it.
I would love to see a tutorial of how you created that in procreate! The letters in the perfect circle, etc, I'm still learning. :)
I’ve been retracing my files manually like a fool. Thanks for this!
Yea that sucks I did that the first time
That’s nothing wrong with that my friend. It all depends on how you want your artwork to look like.
This video just completely saved me from having to redraw an artwork. I knew how to convert my image to vector, but I was using a png and it was coming out terrible. Using a TIFF gave back so much detail that was being removed from my drawing. THANK YOU!

Thanks! Started to use Procreate year ago and with new commissions there was need for vector files, but this one is good solution. Let’s start!
by far one of the best tutorials... thanks bro!
That ignore white thing is so useful thank you so much.
Great tutorial! Of our procreate files ia multi layered with multi colors , do you recommend exporting each layer individually as a tiff and the placing them all back together as separate shapes/paths on illustrator?
So what provided the best outcomes?
This was an incredibly concise and informative video-thanks so much for giving a quick and quality overview on how to do this. It was the perfect refresher for me.
