    I just stumbled across this video again.
    I am 5 months in my Loc Journey.
    I had 5 particular locs that was taking a long time to look loced.
    I tried this and it worked.
    Thank you. :)
    No More Slinky looking locs.

  • @laurensmith7124
    @laurensmith7124 8 лет назад +11

    girl im gonna do this i paid 60 dollars its going on almost 4 months and my hair never locked up i used the comb coil method but i want real looking dreads i dont have patience plus for her to just wash and retwist them she want $63

    • @jnefitemayep1433
      @jnefitemayep1433 8 лет назад +1

      The best thing is learning to do your hair yourself. $63 isn't bad for a wash and twist. That's charged about that much where I am just for retwisting with no wash. Remember it's still labor and time done to do anyone's hair. I'm not about paying lots of money to get my hair nor my daughter's done, that's why I do my own but I also do others hair. You'll save plenty of money learning to do your own hair though.

    • @SadeDouay
      @SadeDouay  9 лет назад

      They don't get hard immediately but I noticed that mines loc'd up faster than before. It's been 3 months since I did the crotchet method and my locs are about 80% loc'd. Most of them are completely hard and loc'd while some still have soft spots.

    • @SadeDouay
      @SadeDouay  8 лет назад +12

      Hi hun! This just creates the "look" of locs. They still have to mature with time which means they will still shrink as they become more intertwined. But this is a one time process.

    That hook is to big you want to use a 0.75mm or smaller I use a 0.5mm the smaller the better. Bigger hooks can damage your dreads

    • @jnefitemayep1433

      They look good to me with the hook she used. That was probably a 1 time thing. Her hair will grow and if she feels it's necessary to cut anything damaged it won't be your problem to have to worry about.

    I’m so mad, I’ve been trying to attempt this on my hair with three different crotchet needles for two weeks and it’s not doing anything . Just goes right in and out like water without any result. I have starter Locs and are just about the same length as yours. WHY!?!? I need help :(

      +Sade' D. make sure you don't palm roll a lot cause it will thin out and break off

    not to discourage you or discredit you at all but this is not healthy for your locks longterm. my first 6 month's were so rough. my dreads had changed so much but its worth it to let them lock on their own. you're dreads are going to change so much until they grow out. you're beautiful! good luck on your journey

      +Sade' D. i saw it. i was just wondering how could i tighten my dreads. im 6 months and they frizzy and not really solid

    • @SadeDouay
      @SadeDouay  8 лет назад

      +Herbert Perkins Well this only helps to get ur locs to look more like locs. It doesn't instantly make them harder. That comes with time bc they still have to mature. I know it seems like it's taking forever but they will mature. Happy locing!

    Super cute. But plz hydrate ur locs with water and oil.

  • @PHOEBUSDANCER
    @PHOEBUSDANCER 8 лет назад

    This rips your hair within the loc which is why it "works" years down the line you will have an issue with loc thinning in the same area you were jamming the hook in back and forth. Locs tell a story and when they mature fully years later you will see the difference in thickness and where all that hair got ripped at.

    • @SadeDouay
      @SadeDouay  8 лет назад

      Shanice Harris yes locs definitely tell a story. So far, the only dips in the consistency of my locs I see is from the 2 times I tried interlocking. Other than that I see no damage where the crotcheting was done. Are u speaking from experience?
