    I have one that I christened with a doe this year. It is absolutely awesome for a treestand or ground blind. It’s like carrying a slingshot (almost) but is a formidable weapon. I have an R20 that is great too. I will be selling the R20 so that I can purchase the soon to be released R29x (450 FPS). Ravin makes a really good product in my opinion.

    Shot a good size doe this year with a Ravin at 30 yards. and the arrow went clean thru it.

    You know it looks like it's a really nice crossbow but if you would have got the R10 Ravin crossbow you could have saved a lot of money and it actually comes in a better camo color and it's not as short I know for maybe a shorter person maybe it fits you but I have got a longer wingspan I am like 6.2 and the Ravin r10 crossbow fits me a lot better and it also shoots 400-plus feet a second

    For that price it better be belt fed. I will stick with the Barnett Raptor Pro STR which absolutely rocks.

    I wonder if you played the sound of a crossbow being fired in the areas you hunt in would condition the deer to not jump the string when the twang from the bow was the real thing?

    Would have liked to hear how quiet/loud the cocking device is.

    As expensive as they are they should come with a 82’ Chevy Chevette

    What is the true draw weight? Would the bow be illegal if the state requires bows/crossbows that possess a min draw wight of let's say 40lbs for example?

    • @RMSpeltzFarm
      @RMSpeltzFarm  4 года назад

      Most states that allow crossbows have bolt length requirements. Since very short draw length to velocity on crossbow creates massive force, the issue of meeting draw weight to produce velocity is not issue and hence crossbow is never typically measured in field for that reason.

    • @bluecollaramerican1776
      @bluecollaramerican1776 3 года назад

      Most “good” hunting crossbows are at least 175# or more draw weight

    • @goarmy897
      @goarmy897 2 года назад +1

      Old comment but the draw weight on the r26 is 340#

    I know you get what you pay for. But damn $2,700. Dollars! For a person on fixed income its way out of there league...

    You need to learn about safety when putting the arrow in the crossbow never in front with your hand

    • @RMSpeltzFarm
      @RMSpeltzFarm  27 дней назад

      I realize it hard to see but my fingers are on the sides on the shaft by the tip and with Ravin it takes lot of force to get that bolt to lock in at the base and you cant side load it and I sure try to stay out of the triangle too incase string ever catch a finger , thanks

    The crossbow is very nice, but one thing I don't like is the scope 20 yards piont is in side the very top of the scope , is should be in the center point like any other scope right.

    • @charliebeaver6771
      @charliebeaver6771 Год назад

      Ravin scopes aren't set up or made that way. Depending on model, main crosshair is either 40 or 50 yards.
      SUPER easy to adjust and sight in.

    Cross torque your scope, they're called bolts not arrows.

    • @robo8523
      @robo8523 3 года назад +1

      Ravin actually refers to them as arrows. They are more like a conventional arrow than a bolt.

    That really insanely stupidly priced, I could buy 4 quality premium crossbows for that price, My Barnette predator was only I think 450.00 when I bought it, and it shoots perfectly, why spend thousands on one, when you can buy one that shoots just as good if not better for 1/3 of the price or buy 4 and have options

    • @robo8523
      @robo8523 3 года назад +1

      I have a predator also. The Ravin is pricey, but there is no comparison between this and the predator. I like the predator but it is outdated compared to the new xbows. It's heavy/bulky and quite long with the built-in foot stirrup. They do make very nice budget xbows now that are much lighter and pretty good quality for the money but the Ravins and the top of the line Tenpoints, though expensive are on a whole different level.

    • @ClintJohnsonWriter
      @ClintJohnsonWriter 2 года назад

      That’s midrange, the equivalent from Barnett is 3/4 the price at $1500, not 1/4 the price at $450.

    Please stop saying bow. This is nothing like a bow. CROSSBOW or CROSSGUN with string. Please stop insulting bow shooters.

    • @bluecollaramerican1776
      @bluecollaramerican1776 3 года назад +6

      In that case bow shooters with $1500 high tech Mathews bows shouldn’t call themselves bow hunters! It’s an insult to the traditional recurve and longbow
