UPDATE 10-30-2024 - Kickstarter has ended. You can pre-order this machine direct from YesWelder at yeswelder.com/collections/mig-welder/products/dual-pulse-welder-dp200?ref=makingstuff
I just order it on kickstarter from your link and within 8 hours I have received multiple fraud charges on my credit card good thing I got a fraud alert. Now I still want the welder but how do change it to the number when I get the card?
I just did the Kickstart $439, added the tig torch and foot pedal. I'm excited, I'm currently running a 18 year old Thermal Arc Fabricator 200A transformer machine. I bought it new in 2006 and it's never let me down, but I'm interested in trying this newer tech and gaining ability to stick and tig.
I've bought a couple other machines. This machine claims to weld down to 24 gauge sheet steel. VIP preorders get a set of gloves and a secret gift. With my past orders, YES Welder had given out helmets and aprons. Thanks for the review.
This is live on kickstarter now! Apparently only 300 ish units left in the first two tiers of 399 / 430 usd. Higher price comes with more tips and consumables. Im excited to get mine
@@tsl7881 I have the Yeswelder MIG205DS Pro waiting to be unboxed as I could not find a DP200 to try out or purchase. I will eventually get one for sure. MY Hobart welders have been collecting dust.
Thanks for a great overview. Two questions: 1) Is pulse mostly for thin material, or does it improve weld quality with thicker material as well (1/8" - 1/4" steel)? 2) When you were setting up the material, the thickest on the display was 1/8" - I assume it does thicker, do you scroll for thicker? Thanks
I wouldn't be surprised if that's the thickest material it will do I love the concept of a multi process machine but even from Miller the capabilities are lacking I want a multi process welder for fabrication but I've yet to find a multi process machine that can do thick enough mild steel or chromaloy in the thicknesses needed. I'm going to have to just buy separate mig and tig machines to do what I need, and I don't even need to weld crazy thick material 5/16 at best.
Since I weld outside often, what size of flux core rollers does it come with? Many of these chinese made for USA welders come with a .040 roller. They don't realize there is no .040 (1mm) wire readily available in th US. And really if you are trying to penetrate 5/16 to 3/8 without porosity you at least .045 and all the current this can put out. On outside welding I have an evergreen welder, I can't see the display outside at all, I guess should have got a PrimeWeld with a bunch of potentiometers. Wonder if this one's display gets bright enough to see outside?
Thanks for this review. When you switched to single or double pulse, did you leave everything else at the preprogrammed settings of the non-pulsed weld? Also, I assume that it has a spot/tack function but have not been able to confirm. Thanks again.
I did ask Yeswelder about this and they said the amp requirements to pulse weld exceed what 120V volt plug can handle. Also, touch screen doesn't work when wearing welding gloves.
Are they going to have a update to use the machine in manual mode because everything is not able to be welded in synergy mode.... I have a deposit for one hopefully they are going to set-up with the option of manual settings me personally like having full adjustment on wire speed and voltage... My Tig machine is a Primeweld Tig 225x with watercooler great value and set-up for the last 3 years now I need to upgrade my mig welder hopefully I can find one that does everything I need... Currently I have a suseme mig-235 that I picked up from Amazon 4 years ago good little buggers just keeps on going....
@@savage6394 everything is set synergic on this welder there is adjustment to change the voltage 5 volts + - .... You select your thickness of your material and the machine is preset for it . I prefer manually setting to where I can slow down wire speed and turn the voltage way up to burn into thick 1in plates of steel and stainless steel...,
Since this is a prototype machine, YesWelder asked me if there were any improvements that needed to be made after I used it. That was the first thing I asked for. I'd like to be able to set the machine to 110Amps at 18.5Volts and start welding. Not 340 inches per minute +/- 5volts. My contact at YesWelder has said that she passed the info on to the engineers but I have not heard anything back from them on the subject.
Two things: When will you start another project? The reviews are nice but projects are way more fun to watch. They really should have a touch screen, as it would speed up work flow. Naming presets is annoying without the touchscreen. I was about to scream on your behalf.

What’s is the duty cycle?

What does the kickstarter mean? Or if I’m pledging the 439?
Nice welds! I've also reviewed this machine but I haven't tried aluminum welding yet.
I've got all of yeswelders welders, got to get this one the pro 250 is my favorite so far, great video..
Good choice!

Thanks for watching!
Got my pre-order in. I'm a new welder, hoping to learn a few different processes with this.

Yes the pro-order ended and it is a kickstarter.
I'm not sure how this kick starter works , can you explain? Thank you for the video.
@@MakingStuffcan you explain the kickstarter or pledge please.
Looks like an amazing all round machine. That it's able to do aluminum is a great feature (amongst others)
I really want to try one of these samples. I used to have the light blue 205ds and worked great till it decided to go out in a bang.
Most people would want to switch brands....

Great video i pre ordered one today looks like it's a well made machine
Nice 👍

@@scottnewport2828 this machine is capable of welding 3/8" mild steel.
I'd really like to see how well it does at mig welding really thin aluminum such as intercooler piping. That would be a huge selling point for me.
Great suggestion!
Put an amp gauge on it when you test the tig functuon. Be nice to see how low it can go and how high.
If there is enough interest in this machine, I'll do a full review on it when the production version is released.
Hi!
Did you use 75/25 for pulse welding as well?
And is their Pulse for Aluminum and if so, what gas did you use?

I wonder how well you can see that screen in the sun

I did leave everything at the preprogrammed settings. If I changed them, I said so in the video.
Interesting review video, thank you. Get some air condition in the shop, it looked hot in there! LOL!
It has been very hot out there this summer for sure. Thanks for watching!
Can it do the dual pulse on aluminum?
Yes
I though aluminum mig is supposed to be spray transfer not short circuit???
He said that to see if you were paying attention.
No 75/25, what country was this designed for?
How about showing pulse and double pulse mig for aluminum. I weld alot of 16ga. and regular spool doesn't work to well.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Can you please share what gases you used for each part of the demo?
Aluminum = 100% Argon. Steel = 75% Argon, 25% CO2.
Did you use the 75/25 for pulse welding as well? And does the pulse work for Aluminum?
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions!
Any idea on price? I cant find it but might have missed it on this video.
They have specials going on right now at different prices. It is on Kickstarter now. yeswelder.com/products/dual-pulse-welder-dp200?ref=makingstuff
I don't see where to pre order on the website.
Pre-order ended on 8/29/2024. It is now a Kickstarter. yeswelder.com/products/dual-pulse-welder-dp200?ref=makingstuff
Didn't show stick welding.
Whats the amp output and duty cycle on 110v and 220v?
Not sure. This is a prototype machine. I don't think YesWelder has dialed the final settings in yet.
Are you using 110v or 240v?
240V
How did your thickness say 14 gauge in the intro
The machine will go down to something like 22 or 24Ga. Not sure what part you are asking about.
No AC aluminum???
DC only
Would you consider selling this unit ?
No
Pulse only on 220v????? That sucks and a 7 inch screen that doesnt have a touch function.
I did ask Yeswelder about this and they said the amp requirements to pulse weld exceed what 120V volt plug can handle. Also, touch screen doesn't work when wearing welding gloves.
