Well worth doing then. I’ve recently fitted the larger touch screen in a transit custom. using a fiesta head unit (essentially the same with some mods) a kuga usb patch cable ,fiesta usb port with power wired to a 12v feed and transit screen all from eBay like yourself over a period of months . Very satisfying getting it working and having car play satnav

Great stuff!! I have the face lift base model, do you know if it's possible to buy a reverse camera from the top model and add it to the existing setup?
No it's not. The wiring isn't there and the head unit doesn't support it. A way around it would be to buy one that's built into the rear veiw mirror. When you select reverse, the image is displayed on the mirror. You can get them from Amazon and ebay.
And if you have to pay someone you could almost double that £1000 I guess. So half price for you 😂. Look forward to the steering wheel change as that facelift one will look so much better!
Yeah thats that's the benefit of being able to do it myself but really it didn't take that long to do. About 4 hours to fit the dash and centre console. The bits that took the most time was modifying the heater control facia and making the radio cage. Those two bits alone took longer to do than actually fit the whole dash and centre console.
cheaper than upgrading a car that you know is sound bud. i prefer the look of the older mg3 to the newer one
I do too but I like the newer dash and now I have a car that I think is better than the newer one.

Hi. I have an MG3 2018 and recently noticed on the dash an error code which reads (err1) any idea what this means and how to fix? Thanks
It's caused by a VIN missmatch in the BCM. I don't know how it does it but for some strange reason it changes one of the characters of the chassis number stored in the BCM. The only fix is a new BCM as the VIN can only be programmed once. Take it to your dealer, you'll also need to bring both keys as they'll need programming to the new BCM.
