Don’t encourage her to stand straight. Keep her bent until her body naturally wants to be straight. She can open up the incision and or rip her muscle repair if she forces it. Not worth it. I’m 6 weeks post op. Just went through this. I’m just now starting to stand straight
Raven Anderson not at all 🙂 first couple days I was so doped up I didn’t have pain, as much as I did tightness and swelling. It is very very tight from the muscle remain if you have a good surgeon, so you are extremely bent over and coughing/sneezing/laughing hurts like hell. After about a week, some post surgery depression/anxiety kicked in. The anesthesia completely was out of my system, so the pain was definitely worse by then. I would say I stopped feeling pain around 3 1/2 weeks post op. By 4 weeks post op my tummy started to loosen up a bit and I was able to stand a little straighter and do a little more. The back pain from being bent over that long is unreal. So staying on top of pain meds is huge. I’m 6 weeks post op now and finally standing mostly straight. I get sore if I do too much in a day. Coughing and sneezing definitely still is uncomfortable, but not as painful as it was before. Swelling is still super real, especially if I consume too much salt. So that sucks.
