That sweet little girl is from Ukraine and was singing in bomb shelters to comfort the people there. Her family is now in Poland. But the story of her singing earned her an invitation to the show. This program was a talent competition for child virtuosos. Both the people singing with the little girls than those at the table are the judging panel.
Beautiful presentation. Two of the young competitors were escapees from Ukraine. Placido Domingo Jr was the 3rd soloist with his sweet rich voice. At least one of the women , Erika Miklosa, is an opera star in Hungary. Little Amelia stole everyone’s hearts, though, and this group performance was really for her and a hope for peace in the world. The whole competition is amazing, well worth viewing.
