olá Michael schack! por causa do seu video,eu resolvi comprar uma td4 e estou muito satisfeito, pois é uma ótima bateria. Parabéns vc é um Grande baterista, gosto muito dos seus videos,e esse ficou show!! um abraço.
I'm fifteen now... I've playind drums since six years old and you are really my biggest inspiration and one day I want to play just like you!!!... Thank you soooooo much!!
The TD-4 has a fast triger to midi interface onboard and a MIDI out connection, so you can use any kind of DRum Sound library when connected to a sampler or computer music software package.
This may be the best thing iv'e heard in my whole life. I'm playing keyboard myself and i love this type of music.. I listen to this everyday. THANK YOU!
Hi Michael, luv this kit, I'm very happy with my purchase. I cant stop playing it, there is such a wide selection of different sounds and genres from this kit, & its so tight & accurate. Jef(Ire)
@fabiobernardo22 Thank you for your comment ! You should be able to start/stop Reason from your TD-4. Just assign a note number/MIDI channel from one of the pads of TD-4 to the start/stop button of Reason, and there you go. Good luck !
@liamzuid you can add an extra Cymbal or pad with the TD-4 and just use a double kick pedal on the kick pad, which uses one kick cable. Like acoustic drummers play double kick on one acoustic bass drum. Easy !
Thanks for your appreciation. You can change the sound selection, but you don't actually have to do a dedicated "save" - it's all automatically saved when you swith off the module.
One of the best ways to prove that playing on an electronic drum kit not only requires talent and knowledge but also much imagination. The sounds this guy has created are awesome.
Dear Micheal, You are amazing, and i say this because i saw your live demonstration in mumbai for Roland SPD30. Really i like your music style, that is why i bought that CD from you immediately... Hats off to you and your music.... Sagar
@gibson00000000000000 I understand your concern, but you can also go for a TD-9 module for instance. It has more extra inputs ! When you choose a module, watch the triggering latency. As you know, the Roland modules are the fastest on the market, which gives you the best playing feel. Grtz !
I've got my td-4k for 2 days right now, and i have got to say; i'm really impressed. Sounds great, nice looks and not THAT big, so you don't need a whole room to stock it. I can assure you, you will have loads of fun with this kit, and i'm not a beginner. Played for over 5 years acoustics.
It's stereo out + headphones out. For this price and module size, no seperate outs possible. But you can record the MIDI and output all the instruments seperately in replay afterwards - easy mixer page inside.
@gibson00000000000000 Yes you can - all Roland pads are dual triggering, even the rubber PD-8's ! So with TD-9, all trigger channels/signals are indeed dual trigger.
@gibson00000000000000 Actually, you could split the dual trigger signal of that one extra cable in two, but then you won't have the dual triggering on the extra cymbal pad. So no choke function and no edge/bow sound differences. I would rather go for the cymbal realism and control than the extra "mono" cymbal, but that's only my personal opinion. Thanks for the appreciation by the way and your comment. Grtz !
Mr Schack, that ending flurry was superb. Electronic drums have come a long way and you play them brilliantly. Im in the market now for either the td9 or td12, depending on what added functionality is to be had on the 12 over the 9. You're playing is inspirational, cheers
There's 25 kits available, which you can totally customise. You can chose sound combinations, tuning, muffling for each pad indivisually, etc. So those 25 kits are true user kits, which are always available.
u know i have watced that video more than 100 times i love the music i love the drums ( which i bought after seeing that video ) and i love all ur videos ! You rock
Michael you are such a Wizard on the Drums man, I luv your style, I played Drums for years but sold my acoustic pearl export a couple of years ago and I miss playing so much, in the last couple of months I've been researching what electric kit to buy, but when I came across this video of you on you- tube I fell in love with this Kit, thanks to you, I ordered the kit from Germany last week and should hopefully receive it tomorrow, cant wait to play it. you have been such an Inspiration jef(ire)
That is a great sounding kit! I ran across your video, searching for TD-4 samples. I've been looking for an affordable kit, and the TD-4 looks and sounds like what I'm looking for. I had never seen one of your vids, until now, and I'm glad I ran across it. Your are an amazing drummer. I've been playing for 40 yrs, and it takes alot to impress me. Hey, I'm impressed!!
@MrMamurk You don't need to adjust your settings once you canged something already - the TD-4 has flash memory, so whenever you switch off, it will remember your last settings forever. No worries !
@GibsonGuitarist666 depending on what type i should advice reconsidering, the td-4k is 700/800 new, the td-4k is 1000, the td-4kx is 1150 and the td-4kx2 is 1300, check which type it is, for the td4-k and k2 i should consider buying new since it respectively will be cheaper or not that much of a difference anyway.
There are some editing features (tuning + muffling) - check the other TD-4K clips here on RUclips (RolandChannel). Also, there are ambience presets which you can add to the sets and you can adjust their depth. You can easily trigger your Reason with TD-4 due to its fully programmable MIDI notes ! And start/stop should be possible.
Could I ask Michael (because getting an answer from Roland is like pulling teeth), can you change a cymbal to a tom on the TD-4 to add a 4th tom? Thank you in advance.
Thanks for the appreciation, Frank ! The TD-4 goes for around 1000 Euro in Europe. Pretty good headphones - well, plenty of choices, but go for half open or closed types that are comfortable to wear. So big phones, not small "in ear" types that wear out when you start sweating. Good luck with your choices ! Grtz, Michael
Muy bueno mister, you are crazy is excelent ! Me gustaria saber de donde sacas las secuencias que disparas en el spds las haces tu con un sintetizador ? Saludos from Uruguay Montevideo !
@comicfan444 Thank you so much for your kind comment, Loui. I do remember you - partners in music taste:-)) Would love to come back to Australia soon. See you then for sure !
Actually, the TD-4 module always understands double triggering cymbal pads. Also on the CY-8 you have the ability to play three sounds, thanks to velocity switching for the bell sound and the according movement to the bell itself. The compeletely independent three zone capacity you can find on TD-12 and TD-20.
@metachozoite the Yamaha kit is first of all slower - latency is bigger, so there's a quite more milliseconds gap between hitting the pad and the sound output from the module. That's why I play Roland.
Dude...! You're just awesome! You're the reason why I still say electronic drums CAN rock!!! I don't care if drumers in general are agains electronic drums! I am not a drumer yet, but when I'll surely get me an electronic drums kit!
I've been playing drums for 40 years. This is nothing short of freekin awesome! Thanks for sharing :) I'm looking into buying the TD4, the "flagship" models are a bit expensive :)
@onenutmonkey234 TD-4 is a great drumset for the money - you will not find a "no latency" drumset with other brands. I use it for practice and recording in my studio, I use the TD-20KX for big live productions. Keep your acoustic drums though and become a multi-type drummer...
You can play along with the USB stick and any source coming in throught the Mix In, but you cannot record incoming signal. You can record your performance along with the internal songs though. The TD-4 can record your performance as well, but doesn't have the internal sequencer and USB stick utility. Grtz !
Depends on what you need : an internal sequencer, many sounds ? TD-6. The fastest and most sensitive triggering and not so many but latest sounds "bang for the buck" ? TD-4. TD-6 is now replaced by TD-9, which has USB utility and new sounds as well.
@slimvillan Thanks for your kind comment ! Wishing you good luck with your upcoming decision - a 9 has USB, a 12 has many of the TD-20X module features and more than half of its sounds. Keep me posted on your findings ! Merry Christmas.
@UntamedMagnet depends on where you're from. Prices are equal at all dealers, so easy to find on the internet. Extra cymbal = CY-8 + holder. Thanks for the comment !
Yo Michael Shack ! You use to be one of my big inspiration back when I had more time to mess around my roland kit. I just chanced upon some of your vids, brought back so many memories. Also saw your collab with Drumeo. loved hearing you talking about your approach to drumming. You're such a talented fella, it's just special ! Keep it up :)
@miradassimplesrock you can output audio from the TD-4 module through phones out and master out, so yes, of course possible. But you cannot record music into the TD-4, just play along with it.
thanks guys I went into guitar center today and they had it so I played on it, it was amazing, the snare feels like a 70's ludwig black beauty it feels so real. Screw it im paying for everything lol its worth the money .
Awesome michaelshack, both you and Johnny Rabb are amazing. I'd just like to know where you get your sounds from to load into the SPD-S. I also have the TD4 all mesh kit and have a SPD-S on order. Thank you and once again amazing!!!!
DAMN DAMN DAMN ! ! ! what a faking performance ..! Its like something great... like a prodigy song ... listened to it more than 20 times and keep listening to it ...
Thanks for the comment ! Actually, this song is compiled live in the SPD-S while recording the clip - If you want to check out more - I just released my first solo album, "SquarElectric" which is also available in a double cd package for drummers, including "no drums - play along" CD/data.
10 years later it is still amazing
Thanks, Michael! It's amazing what you cand do (and what us could do) with this things... Greetings from Argentina!
olá Michael schack! por causa do seu video,eu resolvi comprar uma td4 e estou muito satisfeito, pois é uma ótima bateria. Parabéns vc é um Grande baterista, gosto muito dos seus videos,e esse ficou show!! um abraço.
the best performance with TD4 Roland, Congratulations
Thanks for the compliment.
I've been using the SPD-S since it came out - close to 7 years ago. I always use it, both with acoustic drums and V-Drums.
Ive had my TD-4 for about 3-weeks now...its a great value and perfect for a beginner like me. Awesome sounds and practice module. :)
I'm fifteen now... I've playind drums since six years old and you are really my biggest inspiration and one day I want to play just like you!!!... Thank you soooooo much!!
this just popped up in my recommendation feed. Glad it did, you were already mindblowing back then! Truly inspiring
Thanks Roel!!
Fantastic demo of this great kit. Just picked myself one up today based on your demo and have no regrets. Thanks!
great drummer, great gear, great music
thanks 4 share
This video is very nostalgic to me 😂😂😂😂
SAME!
The TD-4 has a fast triger to midi interface onboard and a MIDI out connection, so you can use any kind of DRum Sound library when connected to a sampler or computer music software package.
Superb drummer! Nice kit! I wait for this drums in Poland.
This absolutely sold me on the TD-4. Hoping to pick one up in the next few weeks. I've also seen a bunch of your other videos. Love your stuff!!
I absolutely love how it turns out, sounds like something out of a crystal method tune, amazing.
Jef(Ire)
@DrzaREKTA Thank you very much for that, man ! Wishing you tons of fun with your new TD-4KX.
Yes it does, when using a PDX-8 dual trigger snare pad (like in the clip) or any other dual trigger V-Drums pad.
Easy !
I watch this video every day, it's just great.
Love the TD4. Great playing!
TheStudioDrummer Thank you!!
Never get tired of this one
Thanks for your appreciation. You can change the sound selection, but you don't actually have to do a dedicated "save" - it's all automatically saved when you swith off the module.
wow this is real talent not just the drumming but the fact that you incorportated into a nice technoish beat makes it even better
One of the best ways to prove that playing on an electronic drum kit not only requires talent and knowledge but also much imagination. The sounds this guy has created are awesome.
Awesome drummer Michael Shack, i enjoying my td-4 and spd-.30 since i saw you!!
Thank you for the comment and appreciation! Enjoy the Octapad and TD-4. Cheers
Dear Micheal,
You are amazing, and i say this because i saw your live demonstration in mumbai for Roland SPD30. Really i like your music style, that is why i bought that CD from you immediately...

Michael. This is fantastic. We've been tossing up getting a TD4 for our son and stumbled across this video. Inspirational. Keep going!!
Amazing and speechless are the only words that come to mind.
Awesome! Just simply but ridiculously awesome!
15 years later. Amazing performance 🥁🥁🥁
Happy to read this - thank you for the appreciation !
Grtz, Michael
I've got my td-4k for 2 days right now, and i have got to say; i'm really impressed.

I can assure you, you will have loads of fun with this kit, and i'm not a beginner. Played for over 5 years acoustics.
Michael are you really from this planet, my goad you are the best .
@WhayTutorials That's indeed the real sound of the TD-4, no MIDI triggering of extra modules !
It's stereo out + headphones out. For this price and module size, no seperate outs possible. But you can record the MIDI and output all the instruments seperately in replay afterwards - easy mixer page inside.
love it and perfect playing in terms of everything.. im gonna buy your CD..
@gibson00000000000000 Yes you can - all Roland pads are dual triggering, even the rubber PD-8's ! So with TD-9, all trigger channels/signals are indeed dual trigger.
As much as I can't stand electronic dance music, I must admit that if you dislike this video, you have no ear for talent. Nicely done.
Dude, your wrist technique is out of this world!
Thanks! Easy to get yours on the same level : follow me on Drumeo.com - I have many lessons on there. Grtz
Absolutely love your style, great mix and very good drumming!
@gibson00000000000000 Actually, you could split the dual trigger signal of that one extra cable in two, but then you won't have the dual triggering on the extra cymbal pad. You can position those pads as you wish, since you can also adjust height and angle.

Thank you vey much!
Holy **** !!! I got the TD4K and never heard some1 play that crazy on it. Pure awesomeness detected! Overall win, respect
0:34 is Priceless! Great video! I'll be getting this kit soon.
@MrMamurk You don't need to adjust your settings once you canged something already - the TD-4 has flash memory, so whenever you switch off, it will remember your last settings forever. No worries !

@BanditNoBody right... But it does follow same dynmaics as TD-9 though... And double triggering on snare + cyms.
@nufc6scott Yes you can ! There's a special "mix in" audio input - no external mixer or double headphone setup needed.
Michael-You rule!
Amazing control and discipline.
looking forward to see you live in Frankfurt!
Uncle Fester
total respect for this man!

You're the man! Love this
@comicfan444 Thank you so much for your kind comment, Loui. I do remember you - partners in music taste:-)) Would love to come back to Australia soon. See you then for sure !

Yes, those are the standard CY-8 cymbal pads that come with the kit.

No play alongs like TD-9, but it does have mix in put for iPod or other sound source connection and new rhythm coach exercises.
Grtz
yea it is i have connected my ipod to my TD-4 but you need a cable that does not come with the kit but it is not very expensive.
Secont time i comment on this..man..i come here to watch this video sometimes...this is just so awsome..love the way he plays the drums lol
Dude...! You're just awesome! You're the reason why I still say electronic drums CAN rock!!! I don't care if drumers in general are agains electronic drums! I am not a drumer yet, but when I'll surely get me an electronic drums kit!

this is usually not the music i like, stylewise
but this i enjoyed alot!
planning on getting this drumset! keep it up!

Dimitri, Thank you for such kind appreciation! Inspiring to read. Cheers
Nice kit and nice performance as we know from mr Schack
When will these be available in belgium?
@miradassimplesrock you can output audio from the TD-4 module through phones out and master out, so yes, of course possible. But you cannot record music into the TD-4, just play along with it.
@Nickoloadavideos It takes all the notes and speed you produce - that's V-Drums quality with minimal latency.
thanks guys
I went into guitar center today and they had it so I played on it,
it was amazing, the snare feels like a 70's ludwig black beauty it feels so real. Screw it im paying for everything lol its worth the money .
He is using the Pearl P-2002C Eliminator double pedal. It's great, I have it too.
Actually, this song is compiled live in the SPD-S while recording the clip -
If you want to check out more - I just released my first solo album, "SquarElectric" which is also available in a double cd package for drummers, including "no drums - play along" CD/data.
