Howler Monkeys in Guanacaste, Costa Rica

In Costa Rica, even a walk to the store can be a wild experience. This troop of howler monkeys (mono congo) made their presence known in the town of Potrero, Guanacaste in Costa Rica.
Howler monkeys are especially loud at dawn and dusk, but they also vocalize when disturbed. We didn't want to bother them, so we were quickly on our way!

I was there staying in the jungle, and one of those monkeys howled every day right outside my accommodations.

Same, hotel jaguar, i got there at 10pm and it was crazy 😂 i live in the city so that was scary but awsome

Just looked this up while in Guanacaste for first time bc I didn’t believe it was howler monkeys I was hearing. I now stand corrected! Thank you for the education!
