vince is one of the objectively best reviewers, hands down. highlights key features but also calls out flaws and gimmicks. his technical breakdowns are also simple enough for anyone to pick up but detailed to give viewers insights not found on other reviews. basically, his reviews don't feel like he's just reading a brochure or a spec sheet and will speak his mind on things that are problematic.
Same! The engine was also my concern initially, but after driving it even with 4 people on board, the S variant does the job. It’s not fast, but it brings you where you wanna go.
I said it before, and I'll say it again, Honda Philippines just blew it. They should have brought the hybrid HRV to the country. Toyota and Nissan are now a step ahead in putting electric vehicles available to the public. Not to mention, other Chinese brands are doing the same.
Been driving the HRV 1.5L version here in Australia for 8 months now and also owned a 1.5L Honda City, the same engine with Jazz/Fit. There’s a significant decrease in acceleration & increase engine noise. The Jazz & City drives breezy but the HRV screams ‘vrooooom am a tiny engine fitted in a bigger body!’😂 You expect this generation will have an improved cabin noise? Nope, still with poor sound insulation & even the speakers lack sound quality. The steering wheel is hideous, non-leather, polyurethane material that feels cheap to touch. I say this because it’s always hands on the wheel when you drive. Here, the base model includes the safety feature driver assist technology but excluded the blind spot monitoring system & fog lights that should come standard these days. Also the rear AC vents is absent here. It‘s essential for backseat passengers during frequent heatwaves & cold snaps! There’s also no spare tyre so good luck calling a rescue vehicle away from the city! Buyer’s remorse? As I owned a Honda City for a decade without major issues, the HRV is a reliable daily driver. But owning it long-term & loving it? No. The overall cabin comfort & driving experience is uninspiring. Speaker is inferior for a good music or podcast during traffic jams & long drive. You want to drive relaxed, swift & smooth but the engine is noisy & sluggish. I bought this model because I was desperate to get a car post-pandemic & it’s readily available compared to other vehicles with a wait time of more than a year. Second hand cars got expensive due to supply & demand. Verdict: avoid this base model if you want a fun to drive car. If the budget permits, get the hybrid or turbo variant. Just my opinion and personal experience. Those who own this model or planning to get one, please don’t be offended. You’re entitled to your own preference.🙂
Sad that Honda did not retain the 1.8 engine of the prev model. Would have been more sufficient as a NA engine. Yes, production economics, fuel efficiency, etc., but still...
Good review as always. Can we also have a metric conversion of the measurements, Vince? Even on screen would be appreciated. Takes a while for me to shift from Imperial to Metric without pausing. Ground clearance in centimeter, though.
I had a 2 l turbocharged Ford fusion few years ago that car was fast 1.5 l engine is too small with or without turbo the Ford dealership by me that I bought mine from had a ton of fusions there with a 1.5 l no remember it's 4:00 and talkin about what that stunk 2L engine is a small as you could go

got the base variant never tried the turbo but its already sufficient!
Could you kindly tell us the 0-100 and the fuel economy figures?

Sir Vince is never reluctant to point out flaws, regardless of car brand. Kudos to Autoindustriya.

after this review, i prefer the non-turbo version. pang-araw araw lang naman and occasional road trips. who needs turbo?

Always an awesome review from Vince!
Price update: from 1,250,000 to 1,380,000 for the s variant
Do you know why? Cant find any reason online especially with the engine downgrade
if u follow ur head ,choose S; ur ❤, the V 🎉
best reviewer out there. slightly underrated
Good review as always.

I think the size is more than enough for 2-4 (occasionally 5) passengers. Great review. 👍
I completely agree with your choice Sir. Thank you for the comprensive info.
Awesome content, nice comparo between the turbo and the non turbo, and appreciate your insights all throughout the video 🤔👍
Nice and detailed review! May I know the name of the background music? hahaha
Where do we get the parts to purchase ?
Sir Vince, isn't the road noise coming from the lack of fenderliners?
For 3 occupants or less, the S variant makes more sense.
For automotive entertainment, autodeal. For technical reviews, autoindustria.
very well said. Autodeal is like the Libra. They wanted to please automakers. lols
I'm in for the Kicks
Great Show!!!
Hi Sir Vince,
If you are going to choose between Honda Civic RS and this HRV turbo, what would you choose?
Civic RS for me - VP
Honda Civic rs

No unit available sa nga dealer so wala din, singce walng avail na unit lumilipay
T mga buyer sa ibang brands
Ohh no..the NVH is bad in this car 😢
Cvts with paddle shifters are just plain cringe.
turbo is uesless on traffic
Yes, but for people like me who live in the province w both highways and many steep inclines (near Tagaytay), the added hp and torque are very useful.
Basically almost all 100hp cars are useless in traffic. At least it’s there when you need it than not having it
Mazda CX-30 over this.
Not a direct competitor. CX-30 sits on a Mazda 3 platform while the HR-V is based on the Honda City. You can't compare both directly.
@@gvm0116 I just did and find the CX-30 better.
@@pugimeaku9221 Mahirap talunin ang murang bettery.
@@pugimeaku9221 Whatever you say bro. CX-30 pa rin.
